Came here for a game and the refs are completely terrible. Wonder how much they are getting paid. Terrible calls on every play.

To Whom it May Concern: I regret to feel it necessary to…read moreinform you of Coaching and Volleyball Club treatment received by Club Director, April Carroll, Tiffany Shelton, and Ayanna Parker, of GA5 Volleyball Club in Suwanee, GA. I am clearly feeling wronged, however my statements below are true to the best of my ability and should be taken seriously going forward. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I have disagreed with the ethics of GA5 Volleyball Club this entire season. I have struggled with communication problems with the coaches due to their parental disrespect. I have had my actions and words twisted by April Carrol, GA5's Director with her accounts reported as blatant lies (due to her knowing she and the coaches were wrong in their actions). I have had serious concerns regarding my daughter's physical safety at tournaments and her overall emotional well-being due to treatment she has received from her coaches at practices and at tournaments through verbal and body language. I had attempted to reach out to the coaches regarding my daughters continuing emotional decline and spiraling low level of self-esteem. The point was missed completely. I can show you the text to the coaches if desired. My daughter has described practices to me emotionally abusive with direct finger pointing her out by name. Any and all of my concerns have fallen on def ears and or have been twisted to have a more negative appearance on my part. On 04/07/2019 my daughter was intentionally left by her teammates to walk through GWCC alone. I don't think this was personal, I feel the club has neglected to teach the girls to act as a team, and to look out for each other's safety. They have not learned the ethics of good teamwork, the actual foundation of team sports. The GA5 15-2 Volleyball team has learned quite the opposite. They have learned to twist their words and lie when they are wrong. When my daughter and I found her team and I verbally informed the children they had not acted as a TEAM when they left my daughter, they were visually upset. I had made ONE short statement verbalizing the action. Seriously concerned of my child's physical well-being at tournaments, No one should NOT be left behind. My statement was communicated by the children to other parents that I had cussed at them. Then it was rescinded and construed that I had spoken to them in another inappropriate manner. Speaking with April Carroll at the Tournament last night again was worthless. Regardless of what I had to say it was NOT going to be heard by her. Regardless of my attempt to inform her of the accounts she was going to change/twist it and end the events again in a lie. My communication with the children on the GA5 15-2 team was a plain statement of their actions as they had neglected to act as a team and look out for each other and nothing more. Due to my misstep of addressing the girls alone, my daughter has been kicked off the team. This is again a relentless display of GA5's Emotional Neglect and enforcement of the approval of lying and not acting as a team. Sincerely, Concerned Parent

See my previous review for program info. This is an updated review after a few years of being in…read moretheir travel ball programs. The facilities remain well kept and the snack bar has returned to being open post-Covid. The facility runs a variety of basketball and volleyball programs. Over time, the quality of the program has been in decline while costs increase. The focus on conditioning and playing through practice still prevails and is a good thing. Game play lacks play structure and is more run and gun. The costs continue to escalate not just for being on a team, but door costs have doubled with some tournaments topping $15 a day. They also charge $5 to park for your own home court for many tournaments. Lastly, the programs we've been in seem to cater to those who pay for the most programs. Hard to see if there is any different criteria as playing time seems to dramatically fluctuate for no reason. Having paid coaches for travel ball is a plus.

I would give this a ZERO-star review if I could. This program is a massive financial racket and a…read morecomplete bait-and-switch! They market themselves as a developmental program, but once they take your $1,500, player development ceases unless your child is one of the "favorites." Instead, you are paying a premium just for your child to serve as the practice squad for the preferred players. The blatant favoritism is glaring. The preferred players stay on the court to accumulate minutes even when they are consistently turning over the ball, making critical errors, and causing the team to lose. Meanwhile, the benched players are never given a chance. Kids get zero equal opportunity or playing time without parents constantly advocating. Furthermore, the organization has zero allegiance to the families who paid; if they think they can't win, they will pull outside players from other places and plug them in, stripping opportunities away from the kids who have been there. Thus, on top of registration, you are forced to pay gate fees at every tournament just to sit there and watch other kids play. The leadership and staff are entirely toxic. The current 9th grade coach, Dylan, is completely disrespectful and unprofessional. The director, Jordan, actively emboldens and protects this behavior, giving Dylan complete deference simply because he allegedly played professionally overseas--as if that automatically makes him a competent or respectful youth coach. Because of the leadership, the actual training is a joke. If the coach is upset about a game performance, his response is to just smoke the team--making them run back and forth instead of actually drilling the plays they need to know. It's completely counterintuitive. When Jordan steps in or interrupts, he just hollers at the kids as if they should have ESP and automatically understand his instructions, even though they don't work with him consistently. The kids just end up frustrated and confused. To top it off, the HoopSeen circuit they play on is a total travesty and a blatant money grab. The odds are completely stacked against the children and it is incredibly demoralizing. A 15-year-old child will routinely be matched up against 17- and 18-year-olds who are reclassing or playing down. Because of normal growth and development, these older kids are obviously much taller and stronger, making the games entirely unfair. It's hard to believe reputable scouts would come to these tournaments because it's a hodgepodge mess where people lie about what team they qualify to be on. Overall, Suwanee Sports Academy staff do not care about training, growth, or the kids' well-being; they only care about winning and using parents as wallets. The complete lack of respect for paying repeat patrons has been eye-opening, disheartening, and extremely disappointing. The old leadership is missed. Save your money and your child's confidence--avoid this place at all costs!

A nice night at the field!…read more Parking was super easy & FREE! Paid parktis available, but the lot is not THAT BIG YOU. Easy access! Nice lot staff to guide & help before the game. As you can imagine food & beverage are not allowed from outside the park. Staff check bags upon entry. Food & beverage are NOT cheap (why I gave 4 stars), but they have a lot to offer for a smaller park. We ate before we went so stuck with beverages & Dippin' Dots only. Oh, my son got fried pickles & they were REALLY good!! They have a few activities for children; bounce house & the back lawn to run around. PLEASE be careful on the lawn- one child was hit in the face with a ball hit hot off of a bat when we were there. There is no net to stop them from getting out there. My husband saw him in a wheelchair going to medical. Yikes, I hope he's going to be OK!!! A fun night, good music & a win for the Stipers. Tickets are reasonable, depending on where you sit & the park is pretty much open to do as you please while there. Be respectful, always! Come check'em out with the family. Hope to see you there!

Some of the food tents on the upper level were a little cramped with people waiting in lines, so we preferred strolling around amongst the vendors on the field itself. Cool venue for an event like this. Lots of places to sit, clean bathrooms, parts covered in shade. Would definitely come back.
