**Disclaimer** My Uncle treated me and the family to Dad's Place ordering takeout and picking it up. I am not able to speak to their service as I did not pick up the order. My review is purely on appearance and taste of the food taking into account travel time after being made. I personally had the BogHooter which is their signature sandwich. It comes on a traditional Italian-style toasted sub roll. It has 1/3 ham, 1/3 turkey, 1/3 salami, 2 layers of cheese (I asked for no cheese), bacon lettuce and mayo. I must not have read the description well because it also states it comes In thirds. What they mean is each meat is stacked individually making up 1/3 of the sandwich, instead of spreading them across the entire roll so you can enjoy the taste of each meat with each bite. Instead you get 3 small individual sandwiches in one. It is your traditional style deli meat, nothing spectacular and nothing to thrive about. The sandwich was good, but the bread was a bit on the chewy side. It took a bit more effort to chew than a typical soft sub roll. One item to note, the picture I took of the sub is after I opened it to take a picture. I also indulged in their beer battered onion rings ($4) and French fries ($3). Their appetizers only come in one size and you can see the size in my pictures. French fries had no salt and tasted like frozen French fries cooked in a fryer. There was only 4.5 onion rings which is a bit disappointing at $1 per onion ring. They were very tasty, but you barely get any to truly enjoy the effort that goes into making them. My grandfather had the pizza, which he said he enjoyed, but it was clearly overcooked reaching nearly burnt status. I am always baffled how an establishment can allow pizzas that are on the verge of burnt to leave their counter. Either they don't quality check their food or they just don't care because it's takeout. For my first experience, I was a bit underwhelmed. The onion rings certainly have potential with a lighter cook and some salt. The sandwich while unique resembles an Italian with different meats, but all separated. I would prefer to taste the layer of each meat combined with the veggies to get a flavor bomb rather than have to eat 1/3 the sandwich to get to the next meat. I am happy to give them a second chance, but I also like to be impressed during my first experience to get a sense of what to expect on future orders. My hope is their quality and passion is shown in the next order, otherwise I will find a different establishment to fulfill my guilt pleasures during the evening. read more

One of the better options for pizza in our area. My husband chooses to go here over all the other pizza joints in the area. Good crust, great sauce covering, and the good pepperoni, if you know what I'm talking about. Different options for specialty pizzas, sandwiches, sides, salads, and the convenience of convenience store amenities like a variety of drinks, chips, desserts, etc. The kids meal is a great deal-- food item (sandwich or burger or chicken fingers,) fries, and a drink along with a toy for a reasonable price. Those that answer the phone are always nice and food is usually ready in the time frame given. read more

There is no ambiance, every time you go in to pick up food, there is a new person training. I can be patient with people trying to learn a new job, but the turnover is ridiculous. Some things are okay to order but there seems to be a lack of standard. It's always a mystery how food will come out. Don't order the coleslaw unless you love a few pieces of cabbage swimming in a sea of mayonnaise! How hard is it to put a few pieces of carrots in it for color. Couldn't eat it because it was totally dripping in the dressing. Looked like someone emptied there stomach in a container. It's all a mystery, it's very expensive, and enter at ur own risk! read more

Every time I go there the employees are rude and over charge for things that other places don't even charge for. They are so lazy when you order a sub of any kind they never cut it in half and they are always messy, the price of pizza there is insane and the pizzas are mediocre read more

This is the closest spot to my friend's house to get my beloved Ham Italian! NOM NOM! If you've never been to the great state of Maine, they're a hard sandwich to explain. There's not much about them that's really "Italian" per se, that's just what the sandwich is called--I think the name dates back to an early 1900's immigration boom. Last time I was here they were running daily specials, where you could get two large Italians for some meager price-3 or 4 bucks I think it was. The sandwich is usually sub-4 bucks anyway, but the special really kicked down the price. And yes, I can easily nosh two of those bad boys in a row. read more

Poor service and there were at least six other customers all of whom were not wearing a mask. None of the three workers were wearing masks. This place should seriously receive a fine. read more

I have been putting off writing this review because I really was hoping for an improvement, but I don't think so. Dad's Place has been a staple for our family for the past 6 years since we moved to the area and we always recommend it to people who are looking for good food. However, they recently under went an expansion that has included staff changes and the quality has suffered. The staff is apathetic at best to serving the customers; sometimes not even acknowledging you because they are too busy talking to one another. Last week I ordered a medium pizza and it was raw. I tried popping it in the over to save it but it was so raw that didn't help. We have had issues with sandwiches, where the order was wrong, or sloppily made. We have tried to ignore these issues, despite increased prices because the food used to be good, but now it seems like a rip off and we'll be looking else where to send our recommendations. read more

They catered a company cookout for us today. It was both delicious and the staff was very friendly and always smiling! This place also has great pizza and I stop there sometimes on my way to Oxford from Auburn. Keep up the awesome work! read more

On the outside this place would be questionable. Older building with older gas pumps. Looks a little run down. Inside is decent. But in reality who really cares about that when there food quality is so superb. I used to go here a few times a week. There pretty nice people who can make a mean sandwich. My recommendation would be to try their chicken finger wrap or chicken bacon ranch wrap. They are both great and possibly the best I have ever had. read more

Our business has been using Larry and the rest of the folks at Dad's Place to cater our annual Customer Appreciation event for several years now. We look forward to their friendly faces and how EASY working with them is. I give Larry a budget with the type of food I have in mind and he does the rest! This past year was a very busy year for us what with 2 weddings going on,one in June and the other in September. Besides being my cousin ,Larry and his staff were extremely professional and the service was exceptional. His knowledge of wedding protocol and preparation of all things needed were greatly appreciated. Between appetizers,various menus,full bar they are hard to beat. They have water in the gas don't go to this store. I gassed up exclusively there for 3 months. The owner told me I was full of shit when I broke down on the side of the street at 11:30 at night without my phone in the middle of the woods because my truck wouldn't stay running I put 3 cans of dry gas and it had a quarter of a tank now it starts but it won't stay running I asked him to bring me a couple cans of super from Cumberland Farms he told me there's no way he could do that blah blah blah I spent $300 a week at that store. We had carry out catering for a company function and purchased the tray of chicken pot pie and a a tray of shepherds pie, both were excellent! However, I did get the salad too and that was not so impressive. Maybe it's a personal preference but I'm not a fan of chopped iceberg lettuce when there are so many leafy greens available now. Just hosted 4 days of meetings at a log cabin in Maine with 12 employees and Dad's Place did all the catering and it was perfect! I ran through some ideas of what i was looking for and they put together a whole plan for the week. Everyone loved the food and they even delivered meals at all times of the day so that we didnt have to do anything. HIGHLY recommend working with Larry and the team at Dad's Place. Found Dad's Place almost by accident...had a wedding happening in 3 weeks, original plan for part of the food had fallen through, walked into here, talked with Larry, he made suggestions...So we called back ordered BBQ and Garlic chicken breasts, chicken salad, etc...It was all delicious, chicken breasts were fork tender just like Larry said they would be...He even helped my pick up the food girl get the van seats down so it would all fit..All our guests commented on how good it all was..I would recommend them any day!!
