It's got plenty of room for dogs and kids. There were actually two large areas for you to let your dog run. One was a little larger than the other so many one is for smaller dogs and the other for large dogs? I'm not sure. There was no one there. Except a lady walking the loop by herself. The area is totally shaded so will be perfect in the hot summer. The parking lot is large so no street parking needed. The wide concrete entrance to the park is painting with tons of children's games. Makes me wish I had little ones again. There are lots of okay structures for the children. And there are lots of benches. I'm excited to go back!

Forsyth Park is a great open public space and offers so much!…read more There are basketball and tennis courts, a splash fountain, a wonderful enclosed playground, fields, ample amount of sidewalks, Fragrance Garden, and of course the beautiful fountain. You can often find people sunbathing on the lawns, playing frisbee or volleyball, taking a stroll, running through the park, or just simply sitting on one of the many benches enjoying the scenery. Most Saturdays you can find local vendors selling items or the Forsyth Farmers Market. A great place to source locally grown food such as veggies, meats, honey, mushrooms, pasta, breads, and so much more. There is a restaurant at the center, Collins Quarter. They have great patio seating and a great brunch spot. I would recommend getting a reservation. Other great spots are within walking distance such as The Sentient Bean for a coffee.

11-30-24 Saturday…read more Had out of town visitors and they wanted to go to the beach. I normally go to Buerkes Beach but one of the persons in our party cannot walk far. So I chose this beach based on the high Yelp ratings that proved once again correct. Once we arrived you pay the meter based on the time you plan to be at the beach. I chose two hours. You enter the parking space number and pay $1. per hour which is very reasonable. Gorgeous beach lots of sand that has not eroded away. If it was warmer we would definitely have stayed longer here. Will be back again soon.

Today, I made a visit to go to the Southeast Crab festival that they have every year. This is my second year attending. Lake Mayer has a nice pavillon that is very comfortable. They also have some very clean and well stocked and well lit bathrooms which really impressed me the most considering it is. publci space. I was grateful to dind both toilet paper, hand washing soap, and paper towels in this place. There was a park attendent nearby to serve as both the watchful security and the restocker for supplies. I will stop over to take advantage of the 3mile footpath in the future.

I believe it's a mile around the lake area and a mile and a half if you walk the entire trail all around the golf course too. Dog lovers will be happy to know there is a nice doggie park located in the back of the park. Nice clean restrooms. The staff is very courteous every time I see them riding around on their golf carts. I'm hoping to catch an outdoor film on the lawn here too, I bet that's a very nice experience.

Urghhh not so much...!!!! This place is located in a residential area and I drive around on a unbusy Monday being a work day but, it still took me like 30mins to try to find a park just to enjoy the beach. I was thinking I did t make a good choice for a beach day. Anywho finally after spotting a person pull out from a street parking spot, finally I was able to park. Next venture i had to figure out was how to get to the beach now. Because of road blocks, I ended up having to ask 2 men at a hotel and they directed me which way to go. At this point, I'm starting to feel defeated but, I'm determined. At least, close to an hour later...I see the beach. It did had a water sprouting from the ground, a few swings for couples so nice landscaping. Then there was the beach, sadly it was not at all what I had expected as the water was muddy looking. Also the sand-flies were aggressive & everywhere. I sat on a boat for a few minutes checking out the view but, honestly on this day it was not much to enjoy beside the wedding that was about to take place. After only 10mins sitting, the sand-flies won! I left the beach and walked around and went through a restaurant which I noticed a lovely pool and a Tiki Bar next door. So thought I would grab a cocktail to start celebrating my birthday to but, not before getting bite 5-6 times by the very aggressive sand-flies. Warned: The beach does not offer the most easiest access to get to. I would have preferred going to Orange Beach in AL so, for this reason instead of staying the 2 nights I planned on staying...it would t have been worth the money. I only stayed in Hilton Head 1 night!!!!!!! Please put up signage so, people know where to PARK and BEACH ENTRANCE SIGNAGE so, 1st timers will not be defeated in trying to go to the correct area of the beach. It's not fun feeling like you're in a maze when visiting somewhere new.

We've even walked a little bit around the lake. There's a lot you can do here, and when we come in the evenings, it's never ever been crowded. And I'm glad!

It is within a campground. There is a gift shop, a children's playset, and an outdoor workout area. I loved the workout equipment, it was neat. I didn't go too far into the campground but it looked really nice. They have several trails you can explore. I went on the Sandpiper loop. It was about a mile. It was a bit muddy in spots so you may want to take hiking boots. I saw a deer and some mud crabs along the way. They even have a couple of dedicated places to stop and take a photo of the landscape. This provided a nice easy walk and a place for my pup and I to stretch our legs.

They even provide stations with bags etc. to make it east to be a responsible owner. There are multiple trails, all are easy level. I found that the trail markings and other signage were well above average. One extra touch I found commendable is the scenic spot picture opportunities. Yes, they have a bracket set up to position your phone for the perfect shot. The visitors center is easily accessible and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable park rangers. My only complaint is that the "Avion" trail continues to be closed. Overall, the park is a great way to spend an afternoon commuting with nature.
