This place is fabulous! Dog park is completely covered by hugely tall pine trees so the dogs are always in the shade. It's VERY SPACIOUS too so the dogs can run around to their hearts content. There are several concrete platforms with high pressure water spigots & tons of dog bowls & buckets everywhere! People were very nice & dogs seemed to get along fine. However, there were several instances of in neutered dogs displaying dominance & aggression toward others WHICH IS DEFINITELY NOT OKAY. Every dog park I have been to DOES NOT PERMIT Un-neutered or unspayed dogs 10k dogs are EUTHANIZED A DAY IN THE US bc people are NOT spaying & euthanizing their dogs. ONE FEMALE DOG AND HER BABIES can have over 67,000 puppies in a six-year time frame! That's because a dog can have three litters a year with up to seven puppies per litter. read more

Let me start with the positives; people are friendly here, the park is very large and has plenty of space for dogs to run, there is plenty of seating and it is shaded. Negatives, there is no grass, just black sandy dirt. The water bowls are filthy. Even if u dump out old water and replace with fresh...the bowls are so nasty that I wouldn't even let my dog drink from it. Watch your step when walking...lots of poop , even though there are bags and garbage cans around. And holes everywhere that haven't been filled in after digging pups. read more

First time here. Great large area for dogs to run free! Just a bit disappointed as there was a lot of dirty standing water in pails/pools. Fountain not working, but only tried 1. Will definitely return and hope for some clean up. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. You have no business bringing your dog here if it is well behaved and you don't want it to be attacked by dogs who's owners can not control them. My dog was dragged by the neck by a pit bull who did not respond to its owner's commands and eventually had to be held down by multiple men at the park. The city of Savannah needs to have workers that at least walk through and make sure everything is going ok. This is not the first time I have come and seen aggressive dogs attacking other dogs at the park. If you are a responsible pet owner, stay clear. read more

A nice large park with plenty of tree coverage. The only negative is the ground is dirt, not grass. There is large tubs so dogs can splash if they please. All negatives are really just due to the people. Every time you bring your dog to a park you assume some risk that an irresponsible owner with an untrained dog will be there - so just keep your eye out. I love bringing my dog to Daffin. Better yet, my dog loves coming to Daffin! It's a very nice park, good amount of space and provides some shade. The people that come here are good dog owners and for the most part everyone gets along. It's well maintained and worth spending some time with your pup here. read more

One & only dog park in SAV. They have a seperate section for small vs. big dogs. It is a great fenced in area. The big dogs area normally has more dogs than the one for smaller dogs. So though we have a mini schnauzer, we bring him to the big dogs area for him to socialize. read more

This was the first dog park I have every been to with my dog (there weren't any parks where I lived previously). It was very nicely gated and well kept. I met a lot of friendly people that were willing to let my dog play with their dogs. My dog doesn't have the opportunity to be around a lot of dogs usually, so I was hesitant to have her around strangers. However, she did amazing and the people their were extremely welcoming! There were plenty of watering stations and shade. They even had small dog pools that the dogs could use to cool down The separation between the large dog and small dog park was also very nice because I didn't have to worry about my dog getting ran over. What an amazing find during our trip to Savannah! We were traveling with our dog, all the way from Massachusetts, and have never been to such a nice dog park in our experience!! The park was enormous with tons of trees, picnic tables, and several wading pools with spigots nearby. All the pups there had tons of room to run around, lounge in the shade, and cool off in the pools. Seemed like a very happy place! read more

We were visiting Savannah with our puppy and needed to find a dog park where he could play for awhile. We found Daffin and it was perfect. Fairly large with a separate side for small dogs. There were a lot of people with their dogs, so he had lots of friends to play with. They had a few doggie water fountains as well. love the dog park here! the only thing is no one in the south has small dogs and there was only one other small dog in the small dog section. my weenie dog is only 12 pounds and all the other dogs were massive. there is tons of shade and trees within the park! be weary of mud if it just rained, but there is a ton of space for your pup! read more

This could be a very nice park.....Some days are fine. Been going to Daffin park since it opened, its- only one of few dog parks around. The maintenance from the city could be better. Need drainage, water filer for pool or a pond. A better way for watering dogs. Rules need to be inside for people to be able to see or you as an reference when explaining a rule of the park.. A dog park forum could help I have sent Messages to the city advising of a few tips that would help. The City is great about having poop bag and the trash cans are dumped. The problem is 50 percent of People think they don`t have to pick up dog poop, its everywhere when you go you will find some on your shoe. Computers and books is what a lot young people bring with them to study and assume the park patrons will watch the out of control dog. Also some days its seems like its kids under 10 day and they really get the dogs going; it can be real scary. The worst is dogs that have not been fixed. Some people think its ok. It really disrupts park when a female waltzes in in while in heat. Intact males are ready to fight. If a dog is attacked by another dog, well as soon as the police have time from fighting criminals they show up. My dogs have been attacked 3 times over the years and I had to break it up, because the owner of the other dog was no where close. This place needs some work before someone human or pet is hurt BAD. read more

A decent size dog park in a good location. However there is no grass and just dirt sand and leaves. There's also a kiddie pool that is usually got a nice level of muddy water. The dirt and leaves covering the park means that your dog will likely leave dirty and also helps camouflage the dog poop on the ground. Unfortunately all the dog owners aren't as good about cleaning up after their dogs so there is roughly a 20% chance that you will leave the dog park with feces on your shoes. So not a great park overall but the trees do offer a lot of shade and given the definite lack of options in Savannah as long as you're prepared it is worth visiting. read more
