I'll come back to add more photos of my hair when I get home. I noticed someone else had the same…read moreissue i had yesterday with them, which is quite frustrating. I made an appointment online for lowlights and a cut, even though my hair is already just above my shoulders. I showed up to my appt., and the green-haired lady told me she was "elbow deep in color," and couldn't check the system. So I even though I successfully made an appt., I didn't really make the appt.?! I told the owner it was pretty frustrating, but she didn't apologize. I even bought a shirt, and I got charged more $$ because it was an XL instead of a medium. No biggie. I'll come back tomorrow, right? Umm yeah... I come in to see a young, like teenage young lady, who proceeded to start walking... so I followed her. I had to ask if she was my stylist? Asked her name...? It's fine that she's shy. No problem. I'm nice to everyone. So I tell her EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. Since my hair isn't long; it's super fine and thin-- I figured this would be a home run. I haven't had my hair done other than great clips since before covid. I'm also partially disabled, so I don't get out much. As far as color, I wanted it to be darker. I wanted to look "hip," because I'm 39, so bring on the midlife crisis! So we decided on the lowlights instead of all over color. Everything went smoothly... I really enjoyed chatting with the stylist next to Sydney too. She had a client leave who looked like something out of a magazine, so I was excited for mine to look half that great. As far as the cut, I told her I wanted "edgy, hip, cool, uneven around the edges, just below my earlobes, etc." the only thing I specified was "please don't do super short layers. They don't look good on me." I told her I had some pics for reference, but every time I show a photo, it looks nothing like it because my hair is SO THIN. So I explained it great detail. So she puts my foils in and leaves me there for 30+ minutes. Didn't tell me where she was going. I had to ask the stylist next to her if she was coming back? Anyway, she took out the foils and dried my hair. At first it looked great, but turns out it's the UNDER SIDE of my hair that looks so great. The top looks pretty much exactly the same. Then she cuts my hair, and I'm praying she's not about to say "tada!" .... But she was done. She cut about 3/4 an inch off, straight around-- total "mom haircut," which I told her I didn't want because I'm not a mom. So she walks off and brings the owner back. She was completely unapologetic, (again.) and told me I was being "contradictory." I said, "how am I being contradictory?" Apparently Sydney listened to none of what I said, at best. She said, "well you said you didn't want layers..." huh? I just shook my head and told her what I told Sydney. I DID NOT WANT ULTRA SHORT LAYERS. We kind of went back and forth about what I said I wanted, as I was VERY CLEAR, and she instructed Sydney to just do "this, that, and the other." I told Sydney I needed to make a phone call, so I did. My sister told me to RUN. She said, "if she didn't listen to you the first time and didn't do a good job, what makes you think she'll do a good job the second time?" I realized she was spot on, and told Sydney I was leaving. She wasn't apologetic at all. I still tipped her more than 15% because it's almost Christmas, (and I'm not satan...) but she didn't deserve my money; and the owner ESPECIALLY didn't deserve my money. I honestly feel I should've been given a discount, as now I'm going to have to pay someone AGAIN to cut my hair. It would've been the decent thing to do. But that went out the window when I walked in the door, obviously. I'll never go back-- and I hope anyone who reads this needs my advice as well. Don't be fooled by the lower prices-- you get (or don't get!) what you pay for!!

I thought the person Bethany knew how to cut hair but does what she wants. Used a thinner scissor on the top of my hair. Which common sense you don't use that on top of hair. My hair looks like Edward scissor hands had a bad day. It's too thin , not even at the bottom. Looks like a rat chewed the top of my hair. The other hair stylist are probably better. Not sure but I'll never go back there again.

Shear Artistry Salon - Got "lowlights," and when I got to my car I went to itch the back of my head. Ummm yeah... she didn't even wash the dye out!
