A solid mom and pop ice cream shop. I'm not getting all the hype about this being the best ice cream ever. It was great, but I can name a few spots (closer to DC) that are better than here. However, we tried it for the cult following it has on Yelp and among friends. What I did really like about this place was the fact that they made homemade pies. We came here a few weeks before Thanksgiving and they were advertising for them. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get them, but I was nonetheless very intrigued by the offering of pies at an ice cream shop. Daily Scoop has become the main culprit of me crashing my diets! I can't stay away. They need to start a support group. This is such a cute place! They have so many unique treats and flavors. So hard to decide what to get. I got a sundae(banana pudding ice cream and cappuccino espresso ice cream), my sis got a waffle sundae and my niece got an ice cream sandwich which was comprised of chocolate covered rice crispy treats sandwiching ice cream. Love love love this place! So many interesting , unique , and delicious flavors! The service is always amazing and the atmosphere is friendly. The owner knows all the regulars and will be passing through while you are there. Such an amazing small town business, a true staple of what Pasadena has to offer. The only thing is that they have extremely limited seating- a couple benches. But that's okay, because there is a little room to walk around outside. While on the pricier side, the great friendly service and delicious flavors are well worth it. And they change flavors daily (Daily Scoop, get it?) so there is always something new. This guy is the Willy Wonka of Ice Cream and he is totally in touch with what his customers want. All day this fella is posting on facebook about which flavors he is making, and asking people which flavors they want to see. I was overstimulated with all of the insurmountable ice cream creations! I am a self-proclaimed treats aficionado and I had such fun studying all of the options. I savored the ice cream cannoli and the Snickers ice cream. You will never find yourself with the watery Breyers Ice Cream again. My parents had the butter pecan and the cinnamon bun ice cream- so fresh and creamy! The butter pecan had such dimension and it bloomed in your mouth. We met the delightful owner- so hospitable and you have to love the Larry David/Bernie Sanders accent. This is hands down my favorite place in pasadena. They handmade their ice cream everyday and the flavors change daily. The best part is they let you sample as many flavors as you want so this way you can narrow down what ice cream you want to get. The people are always friendly and if their is a line they move it quickly. I think i've been here a total of 3 or 4 times, but each time I have come its been a discovery of flavors. The captain crunch peanut butter flavor one is not my thing, but i suppose if you liked rice puffs? in ice cream that would be a good one to get. I also tried the banana pudding which was essentially banana ice cream with nilla wafers in it.. great. but not quite what i was looking for the other night. I ended up with the Mississippi mudpie (?) [i think thats what it was called..] The chocolate/coffee flavor was great, along with the chocolate swirls -- yum in a bowl. read more
