Pretty tasty ice cream. I got the caramel old bay and it was sweet, creamy, with a hint of spiciness from the old bay. Kind of wish I got the chocolate one but I still enjoyed the caramel one. Line moved pretty quickly and the servers were sweet. There's some benches outside but if those are occupied, you gotta find another spot to sit and enjoy the sweet treat. read more

In the beginning the coconut flavor was more strange and it was pretty good. I can't take same taste as the beginning but still good. I wanna try the others asap. I had the Ice Cream Sandi flavor and it tasted like freezer burn - ice crystals and all. My granddaughter had the Maryland Mud, which we would say was just okay, not much flavor. Additionally, we were shocked that a kiddie scoop was so teeny yet was $5 each! For that cost, we expected so much more. Based on quality of product, flavor and cost - cannot recommend. read more

Not my first visit to The Charmery, I've been to the Hampden location several times. I had a good time here! Customer service was good. I really liked the ice cream, although I do wish the milkshake came in different sizes. I got a kiddie scoop of Milk and Cookies with Oreo toppings and it was $5.91 which was very affordable and reasonable. The ice cream was creamy and so good! There aren't places to sit inside but in this area there is plenty of outside seating. They have waffle cones, cups and so many flavors! Free Parking is right across the street too. My friend got the Barley Malt flavor which she really likes. They let you try different flavors which is super helpful and I tried two, an apple flavored ice cream and a mud chocolate flavor. (I still went with milk and cookies lol!) I def recommend and I would absolutely visit again. read more

Charmery is a cool little spot tucked around the corner in Color Burst Park and it offers a nice little pit stop for a bite of dessert. You pay a bit of a premium price for the artisanal flavors though. I got a "kiddie" sized cup for $5 pre-tip. That being said, the flavors are good. I would love for the seating situation to be better (or exist). There's no indoor seating available, which makes it a bit tough for colder days. There's plenty of outdoor seating, but nobody wants to eat ice cream outside on a cold day. read more

First time visiting The Charmery. On the day that we decided to give it a try, it was really crowded to the point that a long line had formed outside of the establishment. It was good that we arrived right before it got really crowded. This leads me to staff efficiency. They handled the crowd with ease. It was amazing to see how they flowed through serving the crowd without missing a beat. Even with some customer indecision about what to order, the assembly line process was top notch. As for the ice cream, they had some regular flavors, but mostly unusual intriguing flavors. I decided on a safe choice, which was salted caramel. It was some of the best salted caramel ice cream that I have ever tasted. The saltiness, the sweetness of the caramel and the overall creaminess were collectively all amazing. The store made waffle cone was also delicious. It was a very warm day, so the ice cream melted faster than I could eat, so it was a little messy. The outside tables across the street from the shop were pretty messy from prior customer's melted ice cream. The one napkin that was wrapped around my cone was not enough to accommodate the melting ice cream or to clean up the messy table and bench. The smell upon walking into the shop was so sweet, the air smelled of waffle cones. It also appeared very clean. I would like to return at some point and try a more adventurous flavor. read more

Their Roasted Strawberry puts a toasty twist on the typical Strawberry flavor, giving a more robust taste to a popular flavor. While the mainstay flavors are good, it's the rotational flavors that peek my interest. Sample as many of these flavors as you can, because you never know when one will disappear. If you do have a favorite, you can take some home with you. And don't forget to check their back fridge, as many of their discontinued flavors have a few last remaining pints in there. Be bold and try something experimental. You'll be surprised with how good they can be. Last week I tried Guava with Cream Cheese and Pastry Chunks. It felt like ice cream for breakfast! The beautiful wall murals and funky music put you into the mood for sweets, and the helpful staff always has time and patience to hand out samples. Be sure to get a punch card when you buy as 10 purchases give you a fun spin on their wheel of prizes. Your punch card can be used at any Charmery location. I tried the Salty Caramel, Maryland Caramel, and Maryland Mud. It was a tough decision because they were all so tasty, but I decided on the Maryland Mud. It was rich, smooth, and chocolaty. Ice cream is available in a cup or a cone. They also sell prepackaged ice cream, milkshakes, floats, and toppings for ice cream. Gift cards and loyalty cards are available. Unfortunately they don't have indoor seating so you have to take it to go. Staff are all friendly. read more

The ice cream was creamy and full of flavor, with chunks of cookie mixed in that added a nice crunch. The waffle cone held up well to the generous scoops of ice cream. I finally made it after hearing so many great reviews. I was in town for the Caribbean Festival and we walked over to The Charmery. It was one of those days it felt like it was 100 plus outside. As soon as we entered we were greeted by wonderful cool AC air lol!! Lol! The line wasn't too long it started to get longer after we arrived. I grew up in the south and I was soooo excited when I saw on the menu.... CheerWine Float!!! *insert happy dance* the wait wasn't too long. You can use Apple play or touch pay. If your order isn't ready when you are ready to pay you can wait outside and they have a walk up window they use to give you your order. The staff was so patient and allowed us to sample some of the ice cream. My CheerWine Float with vanilla ice cream was so good! I will definitely be back again to try different flavors. read more

Needed a sweet treat after dinner n the Merriweather district and walked by the Charmery. I had heard good things about it so I'd been wanting to try it out. My daughter is always up for some ice cream so she was willing to give it a try as well. Still looks nice and clean inside and there was no line on a Tuesday evening. There was no line when we got there so we didn't have to wait long. They have a lot of interesting flavors. I had the cookie dough and my daughter went with the basic chocolate. The portions are tiny and it's expensive so I won't be coming often. It runs about 7 dollars for a small scoop. Toppings are a little extra. We got ours in cups but they have mini cones and larger waffle cones. Ice cream was soft and sweet. Reminds me of a fancy baskin robins. read more

First thing I have to say is that you can smell the sweetness from this store down the street! It smelled SO good. It's located in a really fun area near the Merriweather Pavillon. I got the Brownie Fudge Sundae which only comes in a cup (didn't know this when I ordered it). I asked them to give me a cone, but it wasn't the most aesthetic by that point. Visited The Charmery last night, and had a great visit! When we arrived, we saw the line was out the door! However, don't let it scare you as the line moves very quickly and we were inside in a matter of minutes. There are also two murals in the outside that are very fun, and we even saw people taking photos in front of them. The Charmery has their flavors listed on the wall ranging from seasonal, rotational "here for now," and permanent "always." When you get to the counter, you can ask to sample any of the flavors. The staff team is very quick and provided great, friendly service. We sampled a few flavors before we made our final selections: Incredible Hulk and Hokey Pokey. Both ice creams were delish! One of my favorite ice cream shops in Maryland. The quality and texture of the ice cream is worth the price. They have unique flavors such as old bay caramel (surprisingly good and I don't like old bay) and temporary creations such as an Indian mango chai Lassi ice cream or saffron sesame seed ice cream. I like how they provide few ethnic flavors (depends on what they decide to make) as well as classics and interesting combos. They always have 2 vegan options available when at the shop. Most recently, we tried their roasted strawberry and Turn Around Bright Eyes. Turn around is the saffron sesame seed one. I'm in love with it since it tastes like Indian or middle eastern ice cream. Their roasted strawberry is a divine, creamy strawberry. I highly recommend coming here. You won't regret it! read more
