I had a great experience at this place. I pulled up to the drive thru and talked to the lady serving me to get some ideas because it was my first time here and I just want to say she was great. It was a Wednesday so the had a special were you get a large for $6. She gave me and my girlfriend suggestions and we went with it. For me she recommended a mixture of their 3 strongest drinks but for some reason it didn't have the effect I was looking for but the drink was good and I would go back.

Want to go to heaven? Get a large Fudgesicle and White Russian daiquiri. Yummy. Interesting concept, that I'm glad we don't have at home in Ft. Lauderdale. We went trough the drive thru a couple times and could smell the smoke through the window, so I'd definitely recommend the drive thru option if you aren't a smoker. Both times the ladies were very friendly and I can't wait to return!

Front of the bar. Drive thru is on the right.

It's on my way home from work so sometimes I splurge and go in the drive thru to get my chocolate fudgecicle!

Bryan was our server and he was friendly and had great recommendations. I did the Reveillon which was 4 courses and I enjoyed it. The crab cake was my appetizer and it was my least favorite of the 4 courses. It wasn't bad but it was wowing. I really enjoyed the seafood boil bisque. The flavor was perfect and not overly spiced. My entree was the royal red shrimp pasta and it was good. I did have to add a dash of salt and pepper but the flavor was great with lots of fresh garlic. I finished with the chocolate bread pudding which was good but after the 1st 3 courses I couldn't finish. I hope more people check out this restaurant before we lose yet another restaurant in Lakeview. Ill be back to try the charbroiled oysters and seafood boil.

I especially loved the boil selections. Service was great. Will have to try it again soon to see how they have improved since opening. Love the outdoor seating. Walking in at 1:30 on a beautifully sunny Wed, we fully expected a wait. Instead, our two empty seats beckoned to us like a pretty girl winking at us across a bar in college. Marvin has been promoted to Beverage Manager. He left his bar in very good hands. The two young dudes carrying his torch were great. Very friendly and well aware each time we finished our drink and needed a reload. They're well-trained in the art of concocting the Sazerac we love. Sitting for 2 hours watching the regular turnover of the precious seats at the Carousel is still big fun. And having a friendly chat with the constant turnover of strangers sitting next to us is part of the unique charm of the Carousel Bar. As we were leaving Corey the bartender let us know management is shutting down next month for a few weeks for much needed repairs & renovations so the Carousel can add another 50-60 years to its legacy.

We got there at 10:55am and there was a little line. When the doors opened, Oddly enough, there was a party of 5 sitting inside already?!?? Our bartender W took a while to come get our drink order and took longer to get, one of us never even got our beer. I pointed at someone's drink and told W I wanted that, the martini special. How is he gonna make me the drink minus the Baileys?!? I pointed to the drink I wanted, simple. My bf ordered a Abita, guess what 45 mins passed and he NEVER got his beer. We asked for the check and W said "oh your beer". Bro just give us the check and take off the beer. Worst service I've ever experienced. How you going to forget about someone's drink who's sitting right in front of you drink-less plus make a drink wrong. The carousel sits about 25 people and there's 2 bartenders?!? This isn't a club where drinks are getting shouted out. The only thing they have going for them is the rotating carousel bar if the SD one didn't close, I'd say pass and go to that one instead. One and done for me. Good luck if you get W as your bartender! And sir, no I'm not coming back after the game for you to make it right, make it right the first time!

I got a G & T Turbo to start and the server was confused about whether or not the gin was juniper forward. Food wise we started with the scotch egg and it was delicious. The sauce under the egg halves was the perfect pairing. We decided to split the fish and chips special and the steak and Guinness pie. The fish was cooked perfectly and I loved their tartar sauce. I skipped the mushy peas since I don't eat peas and the other side was fries which were quite salty. The steak and Guinness pie was good but it was salty as well. The decorations inside are quirky and they have some indoor heaters for when it's cold. I enjoyed seeing all of the fun paintings they had on the walls.
