I'm so glad I chose this spot right when I landed in New Orleans. Came here with 3 of my buddies. We started things off with two drinks the "so fresh" and "Leche you later". My friends got the bourbon and loved it ! My first time having char boiled oysters, and I fell in love 10/10. Got some crab cluster, and it was some good tasting crab. I love shrimp so I decided we wanted to share the two different kind of shrimps. We got the Gulf shrimp and the red royal shrimp. Both amazing but I like the red royal shrimp. Then I got myself their seafood pasta called De mer pasta. We got two desserts. Bread pudding and their lemon icebox cake. Their lemon icebox cake with some of the best dessert I ever had must try. All the desserts are made and baked in house ! Our server was nice and the restaurant was clean ! Would definitely come back if I come back to the big easy.

We were one of a few people that just arrived and the ambience was beautiful. Nice wooden tables and the golden pig was a cute touch to view upon entering. We sat at the bar and ordered an old fashion. They have several bourbons to choose from and their well happens to be Buffalo Trace. Not bad for a well. The ice cube had "B" engraved to add sophistication to the cocktails. For our meal, we had the catfish platter that consists of 2lb of fish, coleslaw, hush puppies and fries. There is an up charge (like most places) to substitute but why do that when everything was delicious. The service was decent and if we needed anything all of the team members behind the bar helped out. I will come back to this location again during happy hour!

We had given them a month to settle down from their opening. It was worth the wait. We arrived just before Happy Hour ended. My wife ordered a glass of wine and I had the house old fashion. We ordered our meals and enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant while we waited. The food was great. My wife had the chicken sandwich she said had a great taste. I had the fried Gulf shrimp platter. They nailed it. Service was good and friendly. Definitely a hit.

We often use this as a stopping place to use the bathroom and figure out where we are going next. I like that they advertise they have plenty of bathrooms as there is nothing I hate more than a large brewery with one bathroom. We found this to be walking distance from our more tourist area hotel, but others may feel it is not, although I do believe its close to a bus line. This place has a nice vibe and friendly service. We visited pretty close to opening and it was not crowded. It looked like there was a nice outdoor seating area as well, but after the walk we were happy to be inside where it was cooler. I also appreciate being able to charge my phone while I drink my beer. I was a little sad that it was not open at the same time as the bagel place next door as I really wanted to check that out as well. They do acknowledge their focus is not food, but sounds like they have food trucks at times. Unfortunately I can't recall what beers we tried, but I am sure they were delicious.

Once inside, though, the experience turns around nicely. We started with appetizers, and they were very good. The fried cauliflower and guacamole both stood out as solid, well-executed starters that set a good tone for the meal. For dinner, I had the shrimp creole with fried eggplant. The flavors were well developed and enjoyable. Personally, I would have liked a little more spice, but that's more of a personal preference than a flaw in the dish. The atmosphere was good. Very comfortable, relaxed, and fitting for an adult night out. As for the drinks, they were okay. I tried four different cocktails and none really wowed me, though they weren't bad by any means. Overall, Rosedale delivers on food and atmosphere, with appetizers being a highlight. Worth a visit, especially if you're focused on the menu rather than the cocktail list.

I do hope they add the avocado with crab and passion fruit dressing to their menu! Susan Spicer just never disappoints and the whole staff is friendly. I also never realized it used to be a police station and had never visited the bathroom that's an old jail cell! It even still has the cots. It's a really cool place. It has such a relaxed feel and the food is always top notch.

This brewery is right on Decatur with a couple of tables in front good for watching the traffic coming through. There's also a patio in the back with plenty more seating options. I sat inside where there was plenty of space. There were a good selection of beers on the menu. And the options differed from other breweries with units of Liters. I, of course, had to have an IPA and I got in as a 0.5L (closest to a pint). The flavor was good with a good hoppy taste to it. This is a great place to chill with friends and enjoy some nice beers. What a change in atmosphere; groovy music & mumbly conversations to pure quietness and hearing everybody's voices. It was still a great experience. After about 15 minutes indoors with no a/c (IYKYK), the New Orleans heat caused us to head to the outdoor beer garden. It had rained a little bit, so it was a little cooler. FORTUNATELY, beer was still able to be poured, and the power was back on by the time the second beer was half gone. Aside from all that excitement, the focus is on the tasty beer created here. The two beers I had were great: Malcolm in the Mittlefruh and Helles Knows I'm Miserable Now (which I'm positive Morrissey would love - or would he just cry in it?). Kudos to the clever people that come up with the names! There is also a kitchen, but a belly still full from lunch, and no power meant no orders from us. Next time!
