My brother wasn't allowed to come in with a sleeveless shirt but there were white men allowed in with hoodies and flip flops on. I asked security why was the guy with the hoodie allowed in he said because it doesn't have a zipper it isn't considered a hoodie. I'm all for following rules but the rules put in place seem to be aimed towards the way black people dress and instead white people were dressed this way and still allowed in. I never thought this place would be one of those that try to keep black people away but my experience on Wednesday definitely showed this bar's true colors.

We visited pretty close to opening and it was not crowded. It looked like there was a nice outdoor seating area as well, but after the walk we were happy to be inside where it was cooler. I also appreciate being able to charge my phone while I drink my beer. I was a little sad that it was not open at the same time as the bagel place next door as I really wanted to check that out as well. It was good, but not great; solid, though missing something we couldn't quite put our finger on. The sandwiches, on the other hand, were pure perfection. This is one of the best Metairie bars, if not THE best Metairie bar. It is very Nola'esque. It has that personality that Metairie bars generally do not have. Its in an older building, with a beautiful outdoor space. It is dog friendly. And they have craft cocktails, not just a large beer selection. It is like a cigar bar or a man cave with leather couches and dark woods and lamps inside. They have plenty of fun board games. They are non smoking bar. They place sports on their tvs inside and outside. And they doc crawfish boils on Sunday evenings during crawfish season (Feb-May). I do wish they did them either on Saturday or earlier on Sunday, like 1pm. They have plenty of parking. They are right next to a loud train, so be prepared to turn that into a drinking game every time the train passes.
