It's remarkably still around and more popular than ever! This location on St. Joe Center Road is the closest to my family home and the one I have the most memories of - my dad would often take me, my siblings, my mom, and whatever dog(s) we had at the time in his 1955 GMC pick-up truck (which he only used for short trips) and let us each get a small soft serve twist cone on hot summer nights in the 90s and 2000s. He would complain about the price, take a bite out of each cone, and we would eat our ice cream while people watching. Good memories. My boyfriend wanted to see some of my favorite childhood places so we stopped here last night on the way home from my birthday dinner (I always have room in my stomach for ice cream!). I got my childhood fave, a medium soft serve twist but with sugar free lemon and vanilla instead of the vanilla/chocolate combo our dad would get us. In the last 20 years, Zesto's has expanded their menu immensely and offer more flavors, more toppings, and even things like dole whip and Boston coolers! My boyfriend got a medium peach Boston cooler and enjoyed it, but it was a lot so I graciously finished it off for him. The medium was a lot smaller than it should be for nearly $5 while the Boston cooler was appropriately priced at about $6. Now I see why my dad always complained about the cost! Yes, Zesto's is more expensive than most other places like it but its really good ice cream, kind and quick service, and holds a special place in my heart! #worthit

It's a real fire truck, with all of the hoses and firefighting gadgets right there on the truck. This ice cream fire truck offers dipped ice cream cones, floats, sundaes and Tropical Sno shaved ice. They have lots of shaved ice syrup flavors -- so many that it was hard to choose. In the end, we got a blue raspberry shaved ice and a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough in a cone. Both of my children were satisfied with their choices! The prices were OK: $4 for a single scoop in a cake cone and $5 for a single scoop in a cup or waffle cone. A small shaved ice is $4. Because this is a food truck, they kind of bop around the city and show up in different places. It's probably best to follow them on social media to find out where they'll be next.

The owner is so kind, the service friendly and efficient. The food fresh and delicious! The atmosphere simple, bright, and casual. Shared the cucumber salad to start. One can see just by the pic below how fresh it is... very crisp and refreshing. Not just cucumbers but an actual veggie salad. Husband got the Thai Basil, which never disappoints! He really enjoyed it! I have a hard time not ordering Three Best Friends, as it is SO delicious! Previous photo of this dish shows the 3 proteins (you pick them: beef, chicken, pork, seafood, tofu) of beef, shrimp, and tofu. This time , I chose chicken, shrimp, and tofu. The portion is so generous, I always share some with hubby. Once again, highly recommend! They have a very active takeout business, as well, both pick-up and delivery.

I haven't had a smoothie for a while at this juncture of 2024. All I have back home is Jamba Juice. So, it was a nice surprise that a Smoothie King was basically walking distance from Giordano's and Meijer's. With that said, I basically saw this smoothie king location just before we headed into having a lunch at Giordano's, and after eating, I decided to punch in a mobile order at smoothie King before heading to Meijer's to do some shopping with a friend. With that said, I ordered online thru Smoothie King's website and it was quick to navigate and pay. It took about 15 minutes from start to pick up. I basically purchased a large and the cost was around $7 ish, which was nice and not really overpriced for the size. They have pretty open menu but have popular flavors to their smoothies prominently on their website. I decided to choose a spinach and pineapple (?) smoothie. It balances the unhealthy I had with Giordano's with something healthy with the ample supply of healthy nutrients that can be supplemented for someone on the go. After my friend and I exited Giordano's, we drove to the entrance to Smoothie King and I hopped out and entered the store. The entire experience took about five minutes. I told the counter staff that I had a mobile order and it took a quick minute before they gave my order to the person in the drive-through. Quick, thinking they rectified the situation and handed me my order and I was good to go. it happened that way, but it is what it is. The overall experience here at smoothie King, Fort Wayne, Indiana was decidedly mixed. I think that it was either high school or cottage age kids that was staffing the smoothie counter that day so it was a little Confusing to get the orders in check, I guess. Still didn't wait too long for my cold smoothie to go on my mini vacation to NE Indiana. The restaurant itself was like a small fast food joint, so there was a place to sit down and enjoy the smoothie. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. You can order online thru their website. Not sure if they have an online app, but maybe they do. As far as parking goes, there's plenty of ample parking in front of Smoothie King and as well as near by Meijer's as well. Best bet would be to come here early enough to order it online and grab a parking as soon as you can get here for a better experience. It was nice having to order the smoothie online and not have to fuss around waiting for the order to be processed when u can't be doing other things while is being made. Not sure if there is public transportation in the Fort Wayne, and the surrounding area, but assure that you can search online to see if there is one that the city of Fort Wayne is able to provide and is existing today. of course, you can also use Uber or a Lyft to get you here to grab your awesome smoothie and sure that would be happy to get you here to grab the aforementioned smoothie. My experience here was swift and pretty good, although the small slight mixup costing me maybe couple minutes before the error was realized and I got my smoothie pretty quickly after that.
