We stood at the counter for about 10 minutes, even called out toward the kitchen, but no one ever came out. As we were leaving, we spoke with a gentleman outside, and I noticed another customer go in. Over the 20 minutes we stood there talking, that person was still at the counter as well. I don't know if they had been helped already or not, so I don't want to assume, but from what I saw, there didn't seem to be any staff present. It's disappointing because I really enjoyed my first time here. The food was good and the staff were very kind. I'll give it another try in the future, but I left this time without being able to order.

After arriving, I was told they couldn't make one because everything had already been put away. There are plenty of fried food options available, which is great if that's what you want. But for those of us who can't eat fried foods or simply prefer the meat and vegetable plates, it's disappointing to make the trip only to find out they won't prepare what's advertised on the menu. It gives the impression that the staff simply doesn't want to take the time to make those meals that late in the evening. This has happened on multiple occasions, so it doesn't seem like a one-time issue. If the meat and vegetable plates are regularly unavailable before 8:00 p.m., then the restaurant should either update its advertised hours and online ordering or continue serving them until the posted closing time. Unfortunately, they lost a sale because I chose not to stay after finding out the meal I came for wasn't actually available.

Walking in, the counter is on the left. There are several stools along the counter as well as opposite facing the side window. We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff. The menu is on the wall behind counter. It is pretty simple and covers all the basic diner items. We placed our order from the counter seats and waited no more than 10 minutes for the food to arrive. The waitress placed a checkerboard pattern wax paper down on the counter which was a nice touch, even though the counter was clean when we sat down. My dining partner and I both ordered a cheeseburger. I asked for fries and my dining partner wanted onion rings. Both meals filled the plate they were served on. The burgers had a nice char and were slightly greasy, as any good diner burger should be. The lettuce, etc. were all fresh and the bun was soft. The fries were cooked properly with a nice crunch outside and soft inside. The onion rings were very good, being nicely crunchy on the outside with soft onion inside. These were about the perfect definition of a good onion ring. We wound up spending $22.94 for lunch for two, but that also included a cheesecake dessert I forgot to take a photo of. I can tell you it was very good and made for a great ending to a really good meal. I would assume their breakfast menu items are just as good as their burgers, so would have no hesitation trying those as well if I am passing through in the morning.
