For me, nothing says summer more than a vanilla soft serve with the signature loop on top. No chocolate or cherry dipped for me, just vanilla soft serve. I've stopped here a number of times while in the Williamette Valley to go wine tasting. Service at the drive through is always fast and friendly. Too busy to provide good service The owner overworks the employees. They are multitasking so much the orders get done wrong. Prepare to wait to even be noticed. After placing a $70 order for 8 meals at the drive through and only receiving 7; when i told the window worker one meal was missing, there was no apology for having shorted my order. in fact as I was given the missing meal the employee said, loud enough for me to hear them say into their headset as they spoke to another worker "they didnt know; they could be lying". Before i pulled around i asked the lady twice to please make sure there was bbq for the chicken strip meal. 5 mins later my food was brought out, the waiter reassured me everything was in there. I moved in to a house 2 blocks away from the newberg DQ about 3 years ago. I have walked in countless times and have had some great service and some that could improve. But this was by far the worst I've been treated. I ordered 2 cheeseburger, 1 reg Fri, 1 small Sunday, and 1 med cone w cherry dip. I had to repeat it a few times but, no worry he must be new. I let him know it was a 'to go' order since he didn't ask. His response was to tell me the plastic number was to help him keep track of the orders. I asked for bags instead of a tray at this point. Que his eye roll. Dyed hair, peirced nose and face, with more attitude then I am prepared to take. He handed me the cone and Sunday, I asked for a bag. He told me they don't have any. I ask for a lid to which he drops on top of the Sunday (doesn't snap into place). I show him, then he fixed. I proced to grab the bag I asked for which is with all the others kess the 1 foot away. He tells me I'm not allowed to take it. I remind him he told me that they had no bags. While I bagged Sunday. I stand and wait for my food. He comes back and puts my 2 burgers into the bag then pulls out his phone and starts checking something. Eventually he stops reading or watching or texting, then puts the Fri in bag. He hands me the bag. I tell him to try nor using his phone while he has customers waiting on prepared food. He tells me that I got my food and to go. I asked for his name which he ignores, goes into the back, then comes out trying to tell the other workers he us being rude to me because "he only ordered 15 dollars in food". What difference should it make if I order 1 dollar or 30 dollars? I'm not asking for special attention. I just want to be treated like I'm as important here as at any other restaurant. This guy made me feel like I was interrupting his phone time. I have not ate here for a very long time now I see why I have not been to this location in years. When my food was delivered to my table I went to eat my hot fries. The fries were not hot at all barely lukewarm actually. The fries looked oil soaked as if they were the remnants of previous batches. These fries could have got hotter if I set them on the dash of my car. The whole time I was eating I could hear cussing coming from the employees. Me being a customer should not have to hear that type of language while eating. I am glad I did not have my kids with me. My overall opinion of this place is they need some serious customer service help before I ever return. There is no negative 5 option for your score so I was forced to give a one star review. Every once in a while, the husband gets a craving for chocolate soft serve, and DQ is close. We went last night. Here are my take-aways: 1. They were out of chocolate soft serve, and this is at least the 2nd time it's happened. DQ may not be our default stop next time we're looking for soft serve. 2. I went to Dairy Queen with my sister recently, not for the first time. My sister suggested I take a chance and order their special rocky road blizzard. MISTAKE. Rather than fill with marshmallows, they filled the blizzard with straight marshmallow cream and gluten-filled brownie bits that taste like chocolate dog food. In my disappointment, I went around the drive through again and ordered a canonized blizzard which was as heavenly as expected. Moral of story: Don't get rocky road blizzard. Customer service here is honestly one of the worst I have witnessed. I think the guy taking my order at the drive thru was making a joke of me telling me over and over he could not hear me when I was shouting my order. I went to DQ and ordered a chicken strip basket and a couple of other items I got all the items except for the basket so my boyfriend went inside with the receipt and asked for the chicken. The staff was yelling at each other and the employee that was in the front went to the back and said no chicken and turned us away. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy their food and their in-side service is grand, but after more than 20 or so late night visits to their drive thru I've finally felt the need to voice my displeasure. On several occasions I have requested, and paid, for an addition ranch dipping sauce, and time and time again they have failed to include it in my bag. Even after holding up the line to check my purchase for my item, it's still not there. This failure to produce has resulted in at least a $5 deficit on my part, and, after tonight, having failed to receive my requested additional ranch AND specified dipping sauce, which the window attendant CLARRIFIED with me over the intercom, I've had it. This has been one disappointment too many. Again, the in-side service is WONDERFUL, but if you're a busy student or parent on the run, the late night drive thru is not worth it. read more
