Very disappointing experience at the Dairy Queen on 132nd & Maple. The restaurant was filthy, and the customer service was even worse. There were five employees working, and while three were kind and clearly working hard, the woman at the register was extremely rude and disengaged. She didn't greet us, make eye contact, or respond when my son politely ordered. She didn't even ask what size he wanted. We also witnessed two other customers receive incorrect food. One customer brought his food back and was met with no apology or acknowledgment. He waited approximately 25 minutes for his replacement burger. I understand mistakes happen, but basic cleanliness, courtesy, and customer service should be a given. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location. read more

This location is full of unprofessional teenagers who lack customer service. I asked for a specific item that was listed on the menu and the response was "i have no idea what you're talking about.". I then ordered a medium cinnamon toast, crunch dipped cone. Upon getting to the window the young lady handed me the cone which was already melting to the point where it was dripping on her hands, my car, my clothes. I asked her to take it back and give me a new one. She tossed me a few paper towels, and eventually replaced the ice cream cone with no apology or no acknowledgment so what happened. Drive through experience here. We waited at least 20 minutes to get up to the speaker and ordered two mini blizzards. Took a while to get to the pick up window. When we got them, they were a little soupy - definitely not turn upside down worthy. They gave them to us drippy with no napkins and shut the window immediately. We waited to catch someone's attention to ask for napkins. Finally, someone opened the window and looked at us like we were crazy when we asked. Closed the window again, waited a bit and then someone else came back up, opened the window and said "we don't have any napkins." No apology, no "sorry, we ran out", just unfriendly service. This place is close. Dangerously close to my house. My go- to is the M&M blizzard. It never disappoints and has been a favorite of mine for years. Blizzards are always reasonably priced and packed to the top. They are always blended to perfect so you get bites of M&M and ice cream throughout the entire blizzard. Fiancée always switches up her blizzard and has yet to complain about her choices. Only complaints we ever have is that we didn't go up in blizzard size! Cheese curds are average. About what you'd expect from a fast food establishment. Lastly, our fave, the FREE pup cup! Our dog loves ice cream and even knows the word "DQ" and "Ice Cream" now. I went through the drive thru at this DQ last night (Friday evening) to purchase 2 Blizzards. When I pulled up to the window, the gentleman manning it handed me one of them dripping all over the place, with only a napkin around it. I asked politely for a top, as I wasn't planning to eat it in the car, and sat there with it dripping everywhere while he processed my payment and got the other blizzard. When he attempted to hand that one to me in the same dripping, melty condition, I asked him to put a top on that one and again asked for another top for the blizzard I was still holding. He put the top on the second and handed me the other one, and even though the first one had drilled all over my hands and car at this point, I wasn't going to say anything. Honestly, it's summer, it was warm, and although one of the things I appreciate about blizzards is their consistency, it was still ice cream. And then I got home and went to eat them, and discovered that somehow all of the mix-ins for both blizzards were all at the top. The bottom 3/4 of the cup was just plain ice cream. I understand that it was still the ice cream plus the mix-ins, just not mixed together well, but honestly, if I wanted plain ice cream with toppings, I wouldn't have paid $5.50+ for a blizzard. I would have just bought ice cream and toppings. Now, I've only been to this DQ once before, and they were out of what I wanted, so needless to say, I won't be going back. I am honestly surprised that this location does not have a higher rating than what it does so here I am attempting to show everyone that this place deserves all of the stars. to start off, I had placed an online order really last minute right before I pulled through the drive-through and so it didn't fully get into the system before I arrived. like some people I can 100% except that because technology is a bitch. intercom experience: The lady who informed me was one of the nicest people that I've ever had taken order of mine in a drive-through, even though it was bad news for me. 10 minutes later, I pulled back through the drive-through, I'm not sure if it was the same lady or a different one but they were just as equally nice. They double checked my order before I pulled up to the window and were extremely doing so. Window experience: The second I pulled up it was all smiles across the kitchen. The person on headset was all smiles, the person at the window and even the manger. They were clearly having a rough night as they were in the middle of a rush, but even so they were all positive positive and talking very nicely to each other and respecting one another and even me, which is something that I highly respect out of people. I ended up having a question about tips and both of the lovely two ladies had their manager come over and even she was just a blessing to talk to for the two sentences we had. Food: I've definitely never had a bad experience eating at the Dairy Queen. The food is always been made fresh and it always tastes delicious! especially the gravy! (no one tell me it comes in a bag if it does ill cry) just like always it was hot fresh and ready for me to eat the second I got the bag. My bag was sealed and I had everything I needed, napkins, utensils, and all the correct food. I infrequently write reviews on major chains, so this is more "buyer beware" commentary. My kids love DQ and over the years we have gotten a number of quick meals and/or ice cream as an afternoon snack. We stopped ordering meals a year or two ago after I ordered a chicken sandwich that was completely frozen in the middle. We've stuck with ice cream as of late, but now I won't even consider that. I ordered an ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday. I ordered it 3 days in advance and specified a noon pick-up. I arrived at 1:15 to be told "your cake isn't ready, can you come back later?" To which I said no, as I had a party in 45 minutes. Mind you, I waited 15 minutes (there was only 1 customer ahead of me) to even be able to ask for my cake. This place is so poorly managed. They scrambled to pull something together and handed over a cake with my daughter's name spelled incorrectly. Then, the person who gave me the cake, never gave me the opportunity to pay and when I attempted to do this with someone else was rudely told, I had to wait, which at this point, I had been, for nearly 30 minutes. Never once did I receive an apology. It should also be mentioned there was another customer picking up a cake and when the employee brought it to her the design on top had been completely smashed, all the colors blending together to make an ugly brown. AND, it is was the wrong cake. The restaurant was dirty, with food and paper products on the floor in the cooking area.
