I noticed a lot of newer eateries and businesses in Aksarben since the last time I was there, so hopefully some of them stick around a while. Anyhoo, on to Crispy Burger! First off, the interior is bright and colorful, with a lot of orange, red, and then an accent wall of black and white geometric shapes. It's a super welcoming vibe! One thing that's kind of weird is that the building (and Yelp and Google) says Crispy Chicken, but all the wrappers and signs say "Crispy Burger" which was confusing. The smells inside when you walk in make your mouth water, so get ready to over order if it's your first time here (we definitely did!) They have a LOT of fried things, like fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken, etc. So this definitely is not an every day place if you are looking for health food. We ordered the cheese sticks to start and they were enormous. Definitely shareable between a few people, as each cheese stick is like an appetizer in itself! I ordered the nuggets and fries, and they were really well breaded and pretty large. You can choose from about 1500 sauces for dipping (ok, maybe more like ten, but that's still a lot!) The fries were great too, that come as a side in your box. My husband had the bone in chicken wings combo, and he was very pleased with his choice. Gigantic wings, with fries, a biscuit, and mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Now is Crispy Burger fine dining or somewhere you'd go on a date night? Definitely not. But it's nice, tasty food, for a pretty inexpensive price. So I would definitely recommend trying it out next time you're in the Aksarben area!

I'd have to say the fan favorite of the night was the skewers. The flavor was so tasty and light. I believe it was chicken thighs, there were some fatty pieces but I honestly didn't mind. The nuggets reminded me of a similar fast food location with the Golden Arches logo. I honestly didn't mind because these had more flavor and seasonings within; same consistency of chicken within though. The bread was super fresh (Rotellas?) and the fries weren't too greasy or salty. The cannoli was small but so sweet it was just the right amount. I'd say the prices were about on par with other food trucks I've tried recently and the portion size was decent. Went inside to order and the staff was super friendly, as they handed us the menus. My wife ordered the pancakes and chicken, I had the debo sandwich with potato salad and the slaw. From the comments I was hearing from my wife, the pancakes were amazing, with fruit inside them and a light syrup, the chicken was crisp and juicy, much to her liking. My sandwich was outstanding, it was huge and flavorful, the chicken was also very crunchy and the homemade pickles complemented it well. The sandwich also had a sweetness from the honey vinegar cayanne sauce with just a bit of heat too. The potato salad was delightful, now sweet but really good flavor and had hard boiled eggs in it, you don't get that very often any more, and the slaw was a bit sweet and tart with the pickled onions and pickled jalapeños, and some added crunch from sunflower seeds. It was a bit pricy, but the food was fantastic... Worth the price and worth the wait. Monster portions, we took the left overs home and get to enjoy it again tonight.
