Whiskey Filet

Stopped in for a delicious birthday lunch, and was amazed as usual. They have a solid, half pound burger with a side of your choice for a really reasonable price, and you can even add on their famous salad bar! The burger was perfectly cooked to order, juicy and flavorful, and was exactly what I was looking for. After the main, I got a slice of their classic cheesecake, which was the perfect way to round out a birthday lunch.

Butter and chives is all one needs for a perfect potato experience

I had a marvelous dining experience tonight from the moment I walked in the door. The filet was a perfect medium rare and the baked potato was like. One other. Not so much what was on the potato (butter and chives) but it was cooked to perfection.

Oldie but goodie! Whiskey ribeye is a must! Love the old school salad bar with chilled pewter plates. I like getting salad because it is right next to the open grill, to be able to watch your steak get grilled. . Pro tip, make a reservation because it is always packed.

Decided to return to The Drover for supper before a show, but The Drover drove me away. We arrived when they opened at 5. We both ordered the Whiskey Top Sirloin with the Whiskey Marinade with baked potato and salad bar. Includes Bread. The Bread came first and was warm. The bread is really good. The salad bar is decent. Ice berg and greens. I skipped the ice berg and went with the greens. Lots of basic toppings, but everything was fresh. The steak arrived. We both ordered medium to medium well with a light pink center. Mine came out less than rare and was raw in the center. My wife's was half correct and half rare. She kept it and ate the good part. I sent it back. Before sending it back it was very hard to cut the steak. When it came back it was charred and now it was like chewing shoe leather. The worse steak I have gotten at a restaurant. The first 3 tables had steaks sent back that we saw and another two tables sent steaks back. This is a problem with the cook. This is a steakhouse and having a cook who doesn't know how to prepare a steak is a serious problem. The waitress never came back and the service was terrible. Just opened up for the evening and not warm and friendly. I had a show to go to and was not sending it back again and based on the experience so far I wouldn't want to send it back. I won't return due to the service. The wait staff saw and knew how many steaks were being returned. That would be a huge red flag to involve management. They didn't do anything to make it right and we had a show to catch. The return to The Drover was a huge disappointment and need a different staff and master cooking steaks as a steak house.

One of my goals in visiting Omaha for the first time was trying some great local steakhouses. While my experience at The Drover was really good, I'm not sure it qualified as particularly memorable. The restaurant itself has a light western theme and has good and fast service. The steak itself was solid and cooked well - but less flavorful than I thought it would be. Bread was impressive but also just a bit "normal". I wouldn't hesitate to return, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to.

I was disappointed by my Steak experience at the Drover. I came with a group and we were able to be accommodated last minute which was great and appreciated. I was told this restaurant had one of the best Steaks in Omaha so my expectation were high. I ordered the Whiskey Ribeye with broccoli and soup. The soup of that day was baked potato and honestly pretty good. A little heavy for a starter but it was flavorful and a nice starter. As for the steak, I ordered it medium, but when it initially came out it, it was way undercooked and very rare. I had to send the steak back and wait for another one while the rest of the table was eating. For a $50+ meal, I expect it to be correct the first go round. After receiving my steak and eating, I was disappointed in the lack of flavor. It was an underwhelming experience. If I was in Omaha again, I would find another place to get a steak from

This is a great, classic restaurant with a real cozy feeling because of the great setting. It's a great place to take people for special occasions or just for a great dinner. If you are visiting from out of town, it's a must stop for a great midwestern steak dinner - go with the Whiskey filet. Any choice of meat you choose will be great and they are cooked to perfection of your ask. We also had an order of crab legs that were great portion sized. This is one of our favorite places to go!

The Drover is a dark, western themed steak house just off of 72nd, and people in Omaha are divided on it. In the 3 decades I've been going there little has changed (with the exception of some parts of the interior cause of a fire). Newer steakhouses will be more of a "an experience", but for me The Drover being frozen in time is what makes it great. The Whiskey filet is great, and their signature dish. The pork chops are properly seasoned, and more importantly not dry and overcooked like most places. The service has always been friendly and accommodating. Be sure to make reservations.

Disclaimer: we sat at the bar, not the dining room. A nearly flawless steakhouse experience. The only down side is how crowded it gets, and the service can feel rushed and people are hovering Around you at the bar. If we had a real table this might have been better. So the good: classic steakhouse with exceptional whiskey steak styles. The food is amazing and a good value. The place also looks like a time capsule for cowboy chic western style, bridging the moment when cowboys went from blue collar jobs to more well paying energy jobs. Food: 5/5. The steak dinner comes with a salad bar option that is diverse and satisfying! But save room for the steak, the real star Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I've been going to the drover since I was a kid. Love the classic steakhouse vibes. Dim light, lots of dark woods arguably the best salad bar in the state. Free bread to start. Whiskey filet hits every single time. Whiskey marinate or don't get the steak at all--it's unforgettable

Another year, another good experience at the drover! I had a whiskey filet as always. Cooked perfectly! Their salad bar and sides are always prepared well.

On a trek across the country and found this steakhouse while looking through yelp for dinner recommendations in Omaha! After reading a little about what to expect, we decided to have dinner here and sure weren't disappointed! Our table ordered the Drover prime rib (to share for two of us) and another in the party had the evening special 12 ounce bone in filet. Each of the entrees comes with the salad bar which is standard-- nothing out of the ordinary. We had the prime rib prepared with the whisky sauce and it was so delicious, cooked to perfection. As a side, we had baked potatoes and the sautéed mushroom-- all were equally tasty. We were able to get a last minute reservation so we were seated immediately. A cocktail waitress stopped by soon after to get our drink order and then our waiter came by within the first 5 minutes to get our order. Water was refilled and we felt the amount of attention we had throughout the meal was appropriate. The restaurant is a little dimly lit, but overall a great steakhouse feel. While it was a little pricey, it was definitely worth it!

Knew exactly where to go for my company's holiday party dinner! I love the restaurant design - it keeps parties relatively secluded and ready to eat. The Drover is an excellent spot for anyone who loves a good steak. I got to splurge on the t-bone and it was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We also got some bacon wrapped shrimp and cheesy potatoes for the table and they were amazing. The salad bar is great as well to make your meal feel a little healthier ;) Ending with some homemade turtle cheesecake was an excellent choice!

Ask the Community - The Drover Steakhouse

Do they have gluten free options here? I can't seem to find any information regarding that.

I'm not sure but you should call and ask

Is there any way to set a reservation. My boyfriend and I have tried calling every day for 3 weeks?

They do take reservations. We have called & made them.

What is the dress code here?

Casual

How much are the steaks here?

It varies depending on size, cut and time of visit. They have phenomenal lunch specials!

Can you order a steak(Filet,Ribeye) for lunch?? Don't see any on the lunch menu.

Can you get a steak(filet, ribeye) at lunch? Do not see any listed on lunch menu. Thanks

Do they offer the t-bone steak? I see it in pictures but not on the menu? P.S. Do they also offer the bone-in rib eye steak(not to be confused with the prime rib roast) and…

They had it on the menu when we were there at the top of the month.

Do they offer USDA Prime or USDA Choice steaks? It doesn't specify on their website.

"Certified Angus Beef" brand, registered trademark, since 1978. This company claims to be a cut above USDA prime. Bottom line: very high quality, better than what you will get in the store.

Located in beautiful Ashland, you'll find the weekend lakeside bar and grill. Not only do they have a big menu, there's games including; a pool table, darts, a claw machine and a beach! They have a super fun and unique drink menu with lots of options to pick from! I personally always stick with margaritas and the salt Creek margarita was delicious and very refreshing. The chips and queso was good, but I would say the queso should've been a bit warmer and since it started to cool off quickly, it became very thick. For my meal, I purchased a quesadilla full of veggies and with a very crispy freshly fried outside. It was incredibly hearty for being just a quesadilla and I was only able to finish half of it! It came with a Salsa that was a perfect compliment. My partner ordered a burger and french fries, and greatly enjoyed it! I really enjoyed the fresh fries that were salted to perfection. Service was quick and friendly, very open to giving recommendations! I can't wait to come back here during a sunset to get a nice lake view!
