I love this DQ location - probably the best we've ever been to. The staff is always so friendly and fast, ownership clearly runs a tight ship (very impressive considering it's a fast food joint) - I'm pretty sure one of the owners regularly works the drive-thru alongside staff (I've also seen her training them in there, too), and the food is consistently top notch. This location is also ALWAYS involved in allowing local schools and organizations to hold fundraisers, which I LOVE. It's very clear this DQ cares about supporting the community. Our food faves include blizzards, onion rings, cheese curds, and their burgers. Yum! Everything is always so tasty and cooked well. Blizzards are always cold and turned upside down before they're handed to us, which some DQs have gotten lazy with. While we usually use their drive-thru, we have gone inside several times over the years. It's consistently clean and organized. It's very apparent there is a lot of love and care put into this location's operations. It was one of their new ones. It was great! Tons of cookie dough, which I love. It cooled me down. We always forget that they also have hot stuff. Could have had dinner here as well. I went here several times and haven't reviewed it until now. The blizzards are amazing--not too sweet, but still quite tasty--and the fries are quite good too, pairing well with the sweet blizzards! It's true what they say, they can be held upside down! The atmosphere inside is nice, light yellow walls and tiling, with warm white lights to create a light mood about the inside. It's also relatively clean, which is a plus. The cashiers are nice as well, and were very friendly. Only complaint is that the bathroom is not easy to find (at least, for me) the first time you go there. read more

Poulsbo DQ really outdid themselves in our mind. I had called on Friday to order and ice cream cake for our son's 25th birthday. I was spinning ideas of what to have written on the cake as our daughter had just been accepted to grad school. The woman who was helping me place my order said, "your daughter needs her own recognition. Let me do a mini ice cream cake for her". She also asked where she was going to attend school and I told her UPS. She immediately looked up the school colors and did the small ice cream cake in her new school colors! Pulled up tonight at 9:48pm, one car in front of me. After a minute they pull forward so I hill up to the speaker. Sit there for three minutes, no greeting or acknowledgement from anyone and about 4 cars behind me now. At 9:52 the lights go out. I look up the hours, open until 10p. After 2 more minutes and no greeting I pull forward to the window where two girls are cleaning but pay no attention to me. I get it, workers want to close early and get home. But you are open until 10. Stay open. You missed several cars worth of business. Not just tonight but likely in the future. At the very least come in the loudspeaker and say, "sorry we closed" instead of letting people just sit there in line. read more

Pretty consistent and standard fare at the Dairy Queen. Nice variety of things to eat from burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, to all the famous Dairy Queen sweet treats. Stopped here today because I felt like something sweet, which is unusual for me. Took a lick of my dessert and tossed the rest out to the birds. Not because it wasn't good it's just because I'm not big on sweets. I much prefer salty and savory any day. My dog, Buddy, was given a puppy cone. If you order a banana split and want whip cream on it ask when you order it (even though it shows it in the picture) because if you ask about it after it's been made not only will you get an attitude from the teenager that made it, you will also get it DOUSED in nuts. I say that based on the following: - No wait / no line / no abundance of customers. - Over-abundance of employees meandering around with nothing better to do. - Blizzard made in a hurry and not thoroughly mixed. I ordered a mint oreo blizzard and what I received had very distinct white parts of plain vanilla and still visible green gel that hadn't been mixed in. - Blizzard set down on the counter in a hurry so the employee could move on to doing something else. The employee didn't do the traditional DQ hold-the-blizzard-upside-down as they hand it to you. Actually, that may be a good thing - some of the unmixed green gel stuff would've fallen out. read more

Had the Grilled Chicken Bacon Ranch 500 cal. which came on ciabatta bun. About the same size as Sonics chicken sandwich 450 cal, but much tastier and more satisfying. While the bun was a bit chewy the use of strips of grilled chicken were much better tasting and not overly moist. The Bacon Ranch dressing also gave it a more distinctive flavor. They also have salads. I would also say if you want relaxed sitting outdoor or indoor it can't be beat. You will also find the menu much simpler than Sonic. What i didnt appreciate was the display of the guardians of the galaxy volume 2, i ordered a blizzard like the sign suggested expecting my blizzard to come in a guardians of the galaxy cup as the sign said "take some of the movie home with you" and instead it came in a standard DQ cup. When i spoke to the empoyee who took my order he said "oh sorry, we're no longer carrying those kind". Then WHY is your display still up?! When told the only reason we ordered a blizzard was to get one of the movie cups, nothing was done to compensate the waste of money. The food is always fantastic when I come to Dairy Queen (DQ) but if I had to put the service here in one work it would be "yikes". The only reason I came to DQ was because I had gift cards that I mysteriously found and when I tried to use them the employee serving us threw his hands up in the air and angrily said "WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MANY GIFTS CARDS"?! I was surprised because I was told DQ was supposed to be the place where dreams come true in one bite. Let me tell you... this was more like a nightmare. We arrived on a hot evening at 6:30pm fully expecting it to be packed. One car in the lot. We used the drive through. Why is it they make the Ice cream first and let it sit? First of all, I prefer to take costumer service complaints up with the manager, but, as there was no manager on site to call, and I can't find an email address for one, I suppose I'll do it here. After standing at the counter for five minutes with my family only to have the two young men behind the counter trying desperately to avoid eye contact, another customer walks into the restaurant and stands at the other end of the counter. One of the two guys behind the counter immediately goes over to take his order. I then ask the other young man standing there if we are in the wrong place to have our orders taken. He says, "yeah, you have to be at that end of the counter." My wife looks around for any sort of signage indicating that, and, seeing none, tells him that this is not obvious. He replies, "yeah, there's two tills on that end," and then disappears into the back of the store. I load the kids back into the car and go through the drive-through where were are served by a pleasant and capable young lady. I ask her if I could speak with the manager on duty and was told, "She's not here." My advice would be to stick to the drive through. You are more likely to get someone who knows what they're doing and actually cares about customer service. As for management, I think the babysitter died long ago, and the kids are running the show now and just telling everyone that she'll be back soon. read more

This review is mainly for the service, since at chain restaurants you usually know what you're going to get no matter where you go (usually). We went here for some lunch and got some Blizzards as well. When in line they had some cups on display that said Orange Julius one side and Blizzard on the other and were marked as small, medium, and large. I had a suspicion that the one marked large was only for Orange Julius' as it seemed too large for Blizzards--but I asked the cashier, "are these the same sizes for Blizzards?" She said yes. Surprised, I ordered a large Blizzard for my wife and I to share. What came back to us was the size marked medium on the display. When I went up there to ask about it she said that the large Blizzard was actually the medium orange julius. I then noticed that the largest cup didn't actually say Blizzard, only the other two. But still, since she had told me specifically when I asked about the sizes for Blizzards that they were the same as the ones I pointed to on the display, something should be done. I even talked to the owner and she was rude about it, not caring at all about customer service. read more

I was surprised with all the negative reviews of this Dairy Queen. On my way back home after an extended stay in Poulsbo I sat down and ate lunch and I believe this is one of the best Dairy Queen's around! Much better than any other I've eaten at in my hometown. The outside seating area was tidy and well kept. The service was great. I was greeted by a pleasant teenager who I cannot remember her name but she was wearing her brown hair in a bun. She was polite and friendly, eager to help when I couldn't decide which blizzard to get. She served it upside down as the advertisement shows. My experience was great! I will stop by here next time I visit my nephew. read more

So, I'm actually quite upset after ordering from this Dairy Queen. I'm a vegan, I do not consume any products from an animal, including dairy. I understand if you're vegan you'd probably be safer staying away from fast food, but my family stopped by there (who aren't vegan) and ordered a smoothie for me. They asked SPECIFICALLY if the triple berry smoothie had dairy in it, and we were told NO. Well, after taking multiple sips of this smoothie at home, I realized that this couldn't just be fruit. We also had to call the store because we ordered a side of fries and we never got them. While doing this, we asked if there was ANY DAIRY in the smoothie, and they said YES. I'm beyond upset at this. Not only were they forgetful of our food, but they did a horrible job at informing their customers which led to a vegan consuming dairy product. PISSED. Step up your employee game, and educate. Not only this, but the people at the front counter aren't welcoming at all. Quite rude, hardly any smiles, and I don't even think I got a hello at the register. read more
