Great local spot for breakfast! I did drive passed it, it's pretty inconspicuous, but, after a quick u turn I found front row parking and we went inside. Seating is limited-three booths, a handful of counter seats and a table outside-so we were fortunate to walk in just as a booth opened up. From everyone else's reviews, it sounds like there can sometimes be a wait, but for us the planets aligned, and we sat pretty quickly. The menu is standard diner fare done well. If you are looking for sexy, avant-garde food, this ain't it. If you want a stick to your ribs meal that will sustain you for your adventure of the day, you are in the right place. It reminds me of how my grandma would cook breakfast, big portions, and big flavor. Bring your big appetite. Hubby took me to breakfast at this hole in the wall diner. Don't blink or eyes or you will miss it! Super small inside. The decor is old and booths weren't very comfortable, just needs some updating. Decided to walk down here for breakfast after dropping the car off at Les Schwab for some servicing. The reviews were great and the idea of an old school diner was awesome, so we went. Immediately loved the ambiance! Totally old school, down home, small town vibes. Service was amazing and just what you'd expect from a small diner. Food was good, not great-but worth ordering again. I had the meat and cheese omelet (sausage and cheddar), side of bacon, and my wife went with the chicken breast salad with hamburger patty substituted for chicken breast, with blue cheese dressing. Omelet was HUGE! Bacon was skimpy but tasty. Salad was like one you'd make at home but still really good, hamburger Patty was bland. The hash browns were the best! Wow wow wow - AMAZING breakfast at The Junction Diner in Poulsbo today. My husband and I try a new place every weekend, and today we landed at The Junction Diner. To start, this spot has so much charm and nostalgia in how it's set up. Regulars galore, Terri (the amazing server manning the entire restaurant) knew at least 75% of the people that came in by name. The food though, and that stellar chef (I didn't catch her name but man is she cool), I asked for a breakfast sandwich and for the chef to basically make me her dream sandwich. Sausage, spinach, tomato, egg, cheese, Mayo - insanely good and cooked like a grilled cheese... My love language is all things grilled cheese. My husband had a huge portion of chicken fried steak that he devoured as well. Not only was the food amazing, the banter and the people truly made our day. Prices were SO great as well, so know going in that you get a lot of bang for your buck. I'm honestly disappointed that I'm just now discovering this tiny hidden gem, but we will be back for lunch very soon. This is a great little (literally, the place is super small!) dive joint for breakfast and lunch. We stopped on our way through town and were lucky to have a booth open up shortly after we got there. A couple of kind patrons also offered to make room at the counter, but we ended up taking the booth. The food here is standard, no frills, diner fare. We tried the French Dip, the Junction Scramble, and the Mushroom Swiss burgers. The food came out in a timely manner and was tasty! Service is excellent and friendly. Hidden gem. Good food, good service, good times. We came in for a weekend brunch for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. My young daughter loves the cartoons and there's lots of historical pieces of interest throughout. Although not the brightest and shiniest restaurant, the place stays packed from the time it opens, which tells you all you need to know. This place has a few bar stools and two tables, so it is very hard to know that when you show up if you'll be able to sit down. However, the food is like home cooking. Very good. The menu is varied and the prices are inexpensive. The wait staff AND the patrons are friendly, the service is great, what more could one ask for? Well, I suppose you could ask for more chicken fried steak, even though their portions are more than ample. Yeah, it's really just that good. I recommend this diner. This place was recommended to us by a friend, so we thought we'd give it a try. Pulled up in front and first thoughts were, "Maybe not". We walked in to the small diner. This is a locals place with the charm of a locals place. Friendly server, wish we'd asked her name. She was warm to all and knew most everyone's name. We ordered with one getting a burger and soup and the other a pancake with eggs and two sausage patties. Chatted and enjoyed our coffees until the food arrived. The burger was big and tasty. The split pea soup was very good. Only one pancake came. It took the entire plate! Eggs and two thick juicy sausage patties were on a second plate. We enjoyed all we could taking half the pancake and one sausage patty home. We didn't order it, but we saw it. Homemade pie with tons of fruit. It was amazing. The gentleman walked it, was greeted and said, "I'll have pie." The pie was big and his piece big and then a mound of vanilla ice cream was added to the top. He was in heaven and for good reason. If you're into a modern environment with all things looking new and everything has a place and is in its place, you'll want to skip the Junction Diner. However, if you want a place that is like many across the country that are small, for the locals but don't shun others, like big portions, and like food, this place will work just fine. "Greasy Spoon", this was what my father called the little cafes and diners that peppered the turns of highway 99 from Washington State from the Canadian border to Mexico. He travelled this road extensively around Northern California and the Pacific Northwest for business. I used to enjoy the times I got to join him on these trips. Stopping at these greasy spoons for meals or the occasional slice of pie with ice cream. The Junction Diner takes you back to simpler times. It is a working man's restaurant that opens at 4:30 in the morning and serves up fresh coffee and home cooked meals with a cheerful smile. I haven't sampled their menu widely. I was tempted to try their eggs Benedict last time I was their. But, so far I haven't been able to get past their corned beef hash and eggs. Home cooked corned beef hash is pretty rare any more. There's is the real deal and I always love it. I saw a couple of orders of eggs Benedict come through the pass through. What a beautiful dish! Toasted muffins with a slab of ham steak topped by a poached egg and smothered with golden hollandaise! I should have gotten a picture! I hope it's on offer the next time I stop in. I'm on a chicken fried steak kick and he's on a corned beef hash one. Junction diner, as always, is a cozy and welcoming environment. The owner is one of the nicest people I've ever met, she is working there a lot. We chatted quite a bit today about small businesses and restauranting! The chicken fried steak was hands down amazing. Eggs were perfect and hash browns were abundant. They make half orders, which is what I should have done (although I love leftovers). His looked amazing and he made a huge dent. The potatoes were delish, though he's very attached to the one at the green light (we started there but it's closed). We also got a side of French toast, which was unnecessary with all the other toast, but was also pretty damn necessary with all that delicious melty sweetness. As before, be warned, the diner is small af. There are 3 booths and a line of stools. I've never had to wait, but it could be a possibility.
