I was coming from another town stopped in Wapato to get something to eat. I went through the drive inn. I have never seen such a disgusting business. The windows had crud running down every payne,dirt ,and fingerprints on every single windows. Seeing is believing! I can't imagine that the owner could be so disgusting. On February 10, 2026, at approximately 8:45 PM, I visited the drive-thru at the Dairy Queen in Wapato, WA, and the experience raised serious concerns about staff training, communication, and customer service standards. Upon arriving at the intercom, I was immediately told to wait. After a short pause, I was instructed to pull forward to the first window. When I arrived, the employee had her back turned while engaged in a personal phone conversation. There was no acknowledgment of my presence until the call ended. When the window was opened, I began placing my order but was interrupted mid-order and told to wait so it could be entered into the system. After finally completing the order and being given a total, I attempted to pay with my debit card. I was then told, "the card reader doesn't work." I asked whether credit or tap-to-pay would work and was given the same vague response. When I asked directly if the location was cash-only, the employee did not answer and instead stared at me without any clarification. At no point was the situation explained, nor was an alternative offered. This level of poor communication, lack of professionalism, and disregard for the customer experience is unacceptable. The issue was not the wait or a system problem--it was the inability or unwillingness to clearly communicate basic information. Management should be aware that this interaction reflects poor accountability, and customer service oversight, especially during evening hours. The wapato DQ has definatly made some big changes lately i heard that they are now under new management. They still take some time to get food out the window but the food is amazing. Long story short they are turning around quickly and doing their best to make the store better than it was. I don't know why we go back to this DQ except for convenience. The employees that work there are so rude. When they answer the drive thru window it's as if we are a bother. Then when we pull to window there is no smile or friendliness just irritation. Then they pretty much throw our food out to us with no care. Next time I will make the drive to Toppenish and recommend that others not frequent the Wapato restaurant if they want good service. All I wanted was a blizzard. Took 10 minutes for them to take my order (no one else there) and another 20 minutes to get my crappy blizzard. Food is really good All of their employees including manager are very rude, I asked them if they could replace my shake that I purchased there because the milk tasted sour. She did give me a new one but I had to argue with her , I wasn't trying to get a free shake I wanted to get a shake with milk that was not expired. read more

This place is the worst!!! My husband went in there and ordered food and ice cream! The basket literally had 5 fries in it and the ice cream wasn't made right. When he called to talk them about the problem the employees said "if you don't like it then go to Toppenish DQ!!" They were so rude and disrespectful! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE! This was the worst service that I have ever received. After ordering my food I was repeatedly passed over by people who ordered after me. The young man that was working the front counter looked at me numerous times and he could see that I was not pleased, but he continued to joke and talk with his co-workers. He had no concern for urgency whatsoever. This Dairy Queen is the closest one to my house and I would rather drive to Yakima or Toppenish before I would ever consider going back to the Wapato location. Most of the employees are so rude and just mess around with their coworkers behind the counter.. and sometimes it takes really long to ever get your order. I went to Dq on Monday August 26, 2013 and ordered chicken strip baskets for my children. When i arrived home i noticed one of the gravys had opened up and spilled all over my food. I called to make a complaint because this is the 2nd time this had happened. i asked when owner would be in and i was told everyday until 11am. i called back on august 28, 2013 and spoke to the female owner who kept interrupting me. i told her this was the second time the gravy was spilled all over my food. She told me this was because the employees were filling the gravy cups and leaving them in the warmer and the styrofoam cup was melting and thats why the lids were not saying on. She also told me they dont give refunds because alot of people lie in wapato in order to get free food. not only was i offended by the owners comment but shocked that now i knew we were eating the toxins the styrfoam was releasing into the gravy. When i had advised her that i would no longer be using her establishment she hung up on me. When i called back the employee that answered told me the owner had left to the bank. BUYER BEWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE BEING SERVED!!!! I will definately be calling the Health Department. read more
