I came in and was told to sit anywhere. I picked a table by the window and took a quick look at the menu. I went with a pork tenderloin sandwich, no mayo, and a glass of water. While I was waiting for my sandwich, the super sweet waitress came over to inform me that they had to pound out more tenderloins, and that my food would be up shortly. She apologized for the wait (It wasn't even that long, honestly) and said she was going to give me a free slice of pie for the wait. Score! I went with their signature sugar cream pie (never heard of it before). How was it? Great! Its a custard style pie, came warm, nice and gooey and delicious. A few minutes after I ate my pie, my tenderloin came out. How was that? Pretty tasty! The tenderloin is ridiculously larger than the bun. I cut mine in half and stacked it. It was a bit dry (my fault for not adding mustard or something else) but it was good! Super fresh, piping hot, fried perfectly. A good sandwich! And the best part, only $10.00. Food prices in these old Indiana joints are cheap! Loved it! 4 stars for the food, and the bonus star for the friendly waitress and the history of this place.

Our server seemed like she might have been a bit new, though--when we asked for recommendations, she didn't have any, which is a little unusual, but everything else went smoothly. For the food, I ordered the pork patty and the pea salad. It was my first time trying pea salad, and I really liked it! We also bought a pie to take home for dessert this evening. It's a neat local diner and definitely worth a visit!

TRADING POST Worst place ever to work. Employees not…read morein the circle get treated terribly by the manager that runs the store. I myself endured mistreatment from them as well as being decimated against because I have psoriasis. I was talked down to in front of customers as well as seeing other employees get the same treatment. The employees in the circle can do basically whatever they want in the store while the ones not in the circle get verbally talked to, written up, or fired. My ex husband would come into store making me feel unsafe and very scared and uncomfortable and I was told to act like an adult and deal with it instead of them letting someone else handle him at the register. I was told you had to work there for 90 days before getting a code to lock the store or change for your drawer and then lied to when someone hired after me received their code for the alarm system. I wasn't able to learn anything to be able to float and help other employees if they needed it otherwise I would have gotten in trouble. My ex husband has now been hired there , people associated to me get disrespected and treated terribly now if they go in. I was told I couldn't work around food because I have psoriasis on my hands and arms and that I was a health code violation if I did...I was fired through a text with no reason and then they put that I voluntarily quit. I was never late, always did twice the work because we always got left with day shifts crap, I missed 2 days total and was written up for it when a certain employee blamed a drug relapse on his friends and his no call no show he should have been fired for was on new years day ( a holiday) still has their job today. I wouldn't let my dog work there. The favoritism is outrageous, the turn over rate is because the mean girl attitude from the boss either chases new employees off or she just doesn't like them and fires them, the mistreatment is ridiculous and there's not a decent system to train new employees. You get thrown in a spot and good luck. The last month I was there I was scheduled and made to close fri nights and be back in by 6 am Sat morning after I was told that weekend shifts got altered between others which never happened for me. I can't believe they went as far as hiring my ex husband there now who hasn't held a job more than a couple months in all the years Ive known him. I'm so sorry to all the employees that had to endure this mistreatment who are afraid to speak out or say anything because they don't think it will matter, but I have to try.

Visiters to Huntington, GO HERE. Probably the best breaded pork tenderloin sandwich out there,…read moreanywhere, except for homemade. I don't live in Huntington, but this is where I want to eat when I go there. Frankly, i'd drive an hour or more to eat here. Yes, five star for gas station food. 5 star because it is difficult to find a true batter-breaded deep fried pork tenderloin even in tenderloin country! It is 100 times better than Nick's Kitchen folks. Why? Because it's not pounded to a mushy nearly ground up thin version of the real thing and it's not a crumb-batter reminiscent of frozen shrimp to deep fry. This is a piece of sliced pork tenderloin simply hand batter-breaded fresh and served up on a basic bun, as it should be! The other favorite of mine is not for the faint of heart, the mystifying deep fried breaded cheeseburger. It's a frozen thing in a crumb batter and homemade just wouldn't be the same or as good. Yes, you can like tapas, and sushi grade tuna, and Michelin star restaurants and still appreciate a processed grease bomb every now and then. Something that defies nature. The grease bomb of all time, a breaded cheeseburger where the volcanic lava of processed cheese oozes out of the thinner than thin breaded beef cheeseburger. If you can appreciate the dregs of something like a pizza pocket every now and then you may appreciate this burger. Don't let the breaded cheese burger scare you from the real star which is the breaded tenderloin sandwich. I cannot imagine anyone who likes a good sandwich not appreciating this breaded tenderloin. Probably the best sandwich in Huntington or for miles around. Ye, it is a gas station convenience store with a food counter. Order at the counter, they prepare the food, and you take it to a booth where a TV is perched on the wall, or get it to go. They have some basic sides and i think they sell fried chicken also but i can't get past the two things reviewed above.

Stick my finger in your oizza?" When I called to notify them my pizza was NOT cooked throughly. Serving uncooked food is not only disgusting but unfortunately. Expecially with all kinds of illnesses already going around this is not okay. The young fella I talked to was very rude and told me and I quote him on this "even if the pizza isn't done we aren't aloud to put it back in the oven" so what you're telling me is you are to either just throw that pizza away if the oven isn't working properly? This pizza is absolutely disgusting not I the sense of taste but the sense of sloppiness. I ordered so I didn't have to cook yet still had to finish cooking it. For 20 dollars?! For one pizza. No. God help these individuals working there as they need to learn what is wrong with what they're doing. What kind of place has no manager working no assistant manager and some kid that tells me he could have shoved his finger in my pizza. And then went on to say he had other orders. So that means serve me not done food? My son is 2....the health department as well as the manager will be hearing from me.
