We bought two blizzards last night. Both of them had large pieces of cardboard in them! When we went back to show them, the response was, "oh, yeah, that happens all the time, it's part of the collar we use to make them." I can't say that anything about DQ is exciting, but this DQ isn't even...complete. It's like an express DQ with less than half of the menu items of a normal one. A great big meh goes out. At least I won't be stopping here every other day and gaining weight, because it's bad. Really bad. Beware of the chicken strips. You can double it up as a laxative. Never have had a good experience and today was the icing on the cake. Just picked up 2 chicken baskets tonight. They forgot the gravy for both and they threw in a slice of bread, not toasted with a huge chunk of unmelted butter on it. Not appetizing at all. It wasn't even busy tonight, but as usual the wait in the drive thru was way too long. I cant event begin to describe how disappointing this DQ is and not even the fault of the people that work here. I'm from Texas, the land of REAL DQs. This place has ONLY ice cream cakes and disappointing hot dogs that will only bring you diarrhea. I drove from Austin, TX to the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State and then again to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl National Championship and on both trips I got tricked by stopping here. Both times I had the same reaction, "hell ya, a DQ!" and then realized that it was a coyote in sheep skin. They shouldn't call this a DQ, it should be known as "disappointment." The second time I stopped here a year later I even had a moment where I thought, 1,500 miles and I stop at the same crappy DQ... what were the odds. This DQ just doesn't have it together. After skipping a gluten filled wedding cake at a recent wedding, I desperately wanted something sweet. We went to the DQ on the way home and wow my blizzard "sucked." Sucked is the only word I can use to describe how horrible it was. I ordered the seasonal caramel nut roll blizzard which was supposed to have peanuts, marshmallow, and caramel in vanilla ice cream. It was just peanuts and ice cream. I was looking at my husband's butterfinger blizzard with jealous eyes. This blizzard definitely wasn't worth buying bigger pants for. read more

You can expect your standard DQ fare and service here. I definitely recommend going through their drive thru, unless you don't mind the pungent scent of unchanged fryer oil filling your nostrils upon entry to the facility. I have no complaints about their ice cream and their service (always pleasant), but the smell inside their restaurant is just such a turn off. We live in Vail, so this is always are go to for the convenience. I can say the staff are always polite and have a smile on their face when I arrive at the drive thru. The wait time has never been a problem. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is because I've noticed a difference in the amount of ice cream placed in the quarts. Have stopped by the 22nd street DQ a few times on my way home from Tucson and those quarts are packed. I notice the quarts at the Vail location seem to have air pockets at the bottom so when handling the carton you can actually squeeze the carton in along the bottom and feel it's not solid. read more

This dairy queen is in the middle of no where! Well it is in the middle of no where to me because we were coming back from El Paso and decided ice cream was in order. The place was hoping on a Sunday afternoon. The service was great and served with a smile. The downside is that it is not full service DQ, meaning did not serve the usual burgers and fries along with everything else that most DQ's serve. Horrible place. I can't even be bothered to go back and complain as I'm already 15 miles down the road. Apparently they have a limited menu? Got the pulled pork sandwich and was slathered with sauce so it was extremely messy. It wasn't even hot which I ding strange because it took over 5 minutes to get my order at the drive thru. Given no napkins. No receipt. Fries were really undercooked. Sprite doesn't have the right amount of syrup in the machine so it tastes like club soda. Went though the drive-thru today to order my nephew a dipped cone. A lady that stated she was the manager/owner gave me a dipped cone that was leaning at nearly 45 degree angle and upon politely asking if she would re-make the cone she literally started freaking out and yelled "Are you serious?" at me. I assured her that I was but she continued to pitch a fit causing my nephew to cry when she started yelling. I only wanted her to re-make the cone so it wouldn't spill out of the cone. I then asked her if it's her policy to deny basic customer requests and she then wasn't going to even give me the cone. I asked her to give me the cone and then I informed her that she would be receiving a bad review from me, that I would be contacting the head of DG Franchise Operations and that they would never be getting my business again. I went through the drive thru tonight for a small treat. I ordered a peanut buster parfait and when I got to the window after waiting in a line, I received a partially melting ice cream with no lid when I requested one. When the girl took it back I was expecting a fresh one but all she did was shove a lid on and put it in a bag and handed it back to me. I received no napkins again. I am writing this review because every time I go to this DQ there is always an issue. I hope they get some competition and maybe they will become more professional. read more

Sitting in the drive through now and I am seriously over the attitude you get from the teens that work here. We frequent DQ more than I care to admit and it seems it has gotten worse over the last six months. Maybe some adult supervision would do these teens some good. I arrived right at 10:00, after a 15 minute drive, and was ecstatic that I had made it before they closed, as the "Open" sign was lit up and the drive-through menu board was still on. After 30 seconds of sitting in the drive-through, instead of being helped, the lights were turned off and I was simply ignored. (A year ago, they did this to me at 9:55.) I believe if the customer has arrived even a few seconds before closing, they should go ahead and serve him/her. I was really angry! read more

The food/ice cream at this location has always been good, however we seem to always encounter some kind of service problem. Either they mess up the order or charge the wrong price. Make sure you check how much you are paying for any sale or specials items because they have tried to ring me up at full price and one time looked utterly confused until I pointed to the large sign on their door that stated the discount. Better training might be needed or maybe shift briefs where the manager covers the days specials? read more

This was my first time at this location and within the area. I usually go to the location on Broadway and Camino Seco. I was not impressed. While the staff was nice the blizzards I ordered were not only wrung out wrong but I did not get what I asked and paid for! I'm not sure if they cared about my business because it was 10 minutes until closing tonight or what but I was horrified to not get snickers in my cup and not even close to a regular amount...I ordered extra stuff! I suggest anyone going there needs to make sure their order and receipt is correct before they leave! I will be contacting the manager about this lack of service not for free food because I dont' want that but to let them know about the wrong order and to make sure we get correct ones instead. They left me not impressed and very upset by the lack of concern for not only ringing up the order correctly and making it! It is not that hard of a job and food order! I love their chicken strip basket. A while back I had a bad experience. Apparently they switched equipment and it was not calibrated correctly. I bit into my chicken strip and it was raw in the middle. I was grossed out and I called them to tell them what happened. I spoke with the owner and she explained the situation with the new fryer and asked if I trusted them to make me a new chicken basket. I did. I appreciated her candor and willingness to rectify the situation. I came back a week later and got a replacement chicken basket. It was perfect as usual. They also hooked me up with a free large red velvet cake blizzard and refused to let me pay for it. I have had many chicken baskets since then and no problems. I'm glad we have a Dairy Queen out here! read more

Employees during this day seemed out of sorts. No attention to details for a fairly uncomplicated chocolate small cone in a cup. Pulled up to the window was given a chocolate ice cream in a cup. Not an ice cream cone sitting in a cup (so that if it melts it falls into the cup as my daughter eats it). They corrected the issue to a chocolate ice cream cone upside down top first into a cup. So that a toddler could eat it bottom first. I fixed it up the way it should have been. Poor employees were still oblivious to the details. Asked for the managers number to call him/her. They left for minutes came back said manager would be right out. (I just asked for the number not to take face time away from their business). They left again and manager no where insight. Cars waiting behind me and no one was insight working. I left..called and no one ever answers their phone at this business. It's just ice cream and attention to detail easy peasy. Will go to Baskin Robbins or Freddy's next time. Btw: the soft ice cream cone didn't even look like the signature swirl DQ is known for.
