I have thrown away many items purchased here: one hard body scrubbers and one slippery body scrubber (looked cute and useful), one iPhone holder (didn't fit as described,) and body warmer patches were defective, not warm. How did I not buy anything at this Daiso? Because I just went to the other Daiso recently =P This particular location is similar to Gardena Daiso. The place is clean, bright and has wide aisles. It's very comfortable inside and the workers are nice. It seems like they are not done with stocking the merchandise though. I like the fact that they stop telling us it's final sale. I get tired of hearing that because the sign is already posted. Located at the same plaza from 85C, Hacienda Heights Daiso benefits from 85C traffic and vice versa. I see merchandise that I don't see from the other Daiso. Maybe finally they have new stuff or maybe this location stocks different merchandise. This Daiso is the best location yet. Located in the same lot as the 85C Bakery in Hacienda Heights, it's one of the biggest and cleanest ones amongst the chain of $1.50 or otherwise marked discount stores. Remember, they sell over 100,000 BRAND Goods, not Closeout or Factory Second Merchandise. Once, you start buying the stuff that works well for you, it's a no brainer to keep coming back. However, ALL SALES ARE FINAL, so think hard cause the price tags can add up. Two Reasons Why I Keep Coming Back. STEEL POINT PRESSING STICK * I have one in my car, at work, and at home. While, it's a great conversation starter for some, this REALLY helps with my sore shoulder, spine, and those hard to reach places on your back. Your total cost = $1.50. You can't even buy lunch for that price. It's also works as back scratcher, but it's the best self massage tool I've come across. The thumb can be the best finger to massage someone with and the steel point imitates the thumb to the tee. It's not painful at all. Sturdy as hell too. I Bought this case couple days ago, and it clearly said it will fit A4 paper, however it's not fit!!! I tried to return it and drove to the store after long hour work and traffic but the clerk and manager said they cannot do anything and cannot accept return or exchange. I understand the store has a policy no return or exchange, however the item is already false advertising because the package clearly stated it will fit A4. If I still using it, I will end up with a wavy or uneven paper and has a risk of jamming my printer!! I'm so unhappy about this situation and really upset. I have been a customer for a long time and a big fan of Daiso product, however this is really really upset me and make me speechless. This is a very interesting store. It is like a 99 cent store Japanese style. There are lots of fun and unusual things. Items are from Japan with descriptions on them in Japanese. There are also pictures on the package to help explain the item. Plan for lots of time to have fun exploring the varied and sometimes unusual merchandise. The store was IMMACULATE. The employees were very pleasant. The only thing I didn't like is the pricing system. Everything used to be just $1.50. They have now expanded to include more expensive items. There are prices on the packages, but you have to look at the charts posted around the store to determine the actual price. Items not priced are still $1.50. read more

Seasoned Daiso shopper here, it's a great place to buy gifts or pick up things to put a gift basket together. Last minute birthday shopping I was able purchase useful items for a friend, not only are they useful but cute. 99 cents stores are cheap but they don't have items specific to Japanese cuisine such as bento supplies. The coloring books they have are great, recommend this as a gift to younger children. The pages are smooth and a bit thicker than most cheap coloring books, this is important because you don't want colors from the page on the other side to bleed over, very important to some kids. :p Pretty much the same stuff as other Daiso stores, but feels like there is more room between the shelves to walk and not as claustrophobic with less shoppers. read more

This is basically the Japan version of the "dollar tree" store, except that everything is $1.50 unless where it states otherwise. The inside of the store looks a lot nicer than the American dollar stores though. Bright lighting, organized and neat displays and a lot of colorful cutey little things that you won't find anywhere else except in Japan. While browsing randomly, the baker in me just had got to check out their bakeware section. To my surprise I found these little stainless steel round backing pans, which are rare to find in the bakeware stores in the U.S. as most baking pans are made of aluminum. They only carry the small, maybe 6-inch regular round pans, as well as 4-inch cheesecake pans with removable bottoms. They also have these cute little sifters for sifting powder sugar or cocoa powder or whatever it is your heart desires to sprinkle on your cakes or pastries. So I got 3 sifters with different sizes, 4 cake pans, all are stainless steel. For all of these I paid $11.45 including 9.5% tax. What a great deal and I'm also very happy to finally find stainless steel pans, which are healthier than baking with aluminum pans. There are a lot more other useful little stuff around the store, you know the stuff you always thought you need but never remember to shop for them? You are in luck because you will find them here. A fellow Yelper just informed me that we also have a few Daiso Japan stores in the bay area; mainly in the east bay area such as Union City, Neward, Alameda, etc. Good to know! Great Daiso location, compared to the yucky and dirty Daiso in Anaheim! This one is located in the same plaza as 85C, which makes it even better cuz you can grab some bread and green milk tea before you shop! ;) For those who don't know, Daiso is basically a Japanese version of your local dollar store. With that being said, this location is EXCEPTIONALLY clean and well-organized. It was only built earlier this year, but it's already a pretty popular addition to the booming Hacienda Heights area. You can seriously find ANYTHING here - from tupperware to wrapping paper to sushi mats... and much more! Granted, the quality probably won't be the best, given how dirt cheap most of the stuff is. Nonetheless, it's a really cool place if you want to find some fobby cute, mostly useless junk for dirt cheap! They had a bunch of scarves, most are $1.50 while a few were marked $3-$4, which is still pretty cheap for a cute scarf. Currently, Christmas stuff is out for those that like to start their Christmas decorating early. They have food, clothing items, household items, pet stuff, cosmetics, mugs, bowls, stationaries, and containers just to name a few. The first time I experienced Daiso was in Taiwan and I missed it so much when I came back from my summer vacation, but when I heard it was opening here, I was so happy!!! Everything is super cute and you never realize you need something until you come here. I totally did not realize I needed a heart shaped egg thing or 2 more trash cans for my house until I came here. I wish they opened a Daiso near more universities because this place is perfect to buy household items for cheap, like trashcans, bowls, cups, cutting boards, etc. (I don't recommend buying pots/pans here though) I recently moved and I bought a lot of decorating items here to decorate my room, like picture frames, a cute pot for my strawberry plant and a cute pink trashcan. A lot of things look really cute and girly which is my favoriteeeeeeeeeeeee :DDD The best part of this place is that it is located next to 85C and Chase (if you need cash) so you can buy some bread or drinks after you shop here. This Hacienda Hts location is bigger compared to the one in MP (Monterey Park), & have a lot of items in stock. I think they even had some items that I hadn't seen in the other store. What can I say, except...OH MAN! I'm in love :) Lots of great items for $1.50....you can not go wrong! It was a little more crowded than the one in MP, but this one is closer and it is in the strip mall where the once Albertson's use to reside. Minus 2 stars to the madhouse parking situation! People are coming & going to this strip mall as if it was Black Friday giving away IPAD's, I'm assuming not just because of Daiso, but because of all the good little restaurants/plus bakery (maybe Chase Bank too) that are just so darn good and they must!! Just puts a damper on the parking. The vacant Albertson's area of parking was all taken up as well......It's just that busy there! I will come back to this Daiso, because it's larger and close by. Although it is across from the Puente Hills Mall, where it can get crazy bad & really congested, this store's location isn't that entirely bad. It's just very popular with lots of people having business there and/or where all the foodies get their grub on. I truly hope they build more of these stores, they are addicting!!! I love Daiso. Review done. But for real, this place is heaven. This is the Target of Asian stores for me. I go absolutely ham in this place and buy things I don't or ever will need. They have everything from food, make up, home goods, automobile stuff, toys, hats, and a lot more. I come here every once in a while to get little things I need and also, to stock up on yummy Japanese treats. Everything, unless otherwise stated, is $1.50. They sell a few things here that are ticketed for a few more dollars. Ladies, they have eyelashes for dayyyyyysssss here. The band is pretty thick though, so you have to learn to work with it. $1.50 for a pack that comes with two pairs is a steal, thick band and all. Some are really outrageous while others are suitable for everyday use. read more

This is the Japanese version of the American dollar store except that everything is $1.50 unless otherwise indicated (and clean). American dollar stores always feel gloomy and cluttered to me. This is a hoarder's paradise because there are a lot of cute gadgets/decorations. My favorite find are these huge white noodle soup bowls. They're very Ikea-ish due to its contemporary style and all white nature, plus they go well with my all-white dinnerware. And they're ONLY $1.50!! I just checked Ikea's website and they actually sell these bowls now!! Funny.. it's a NEW item going for $3.99. So save your money and just come here! I also like their paper lanterns but I don't have any party to decorate for so those will have to wait for when I have a party... or more friends.... whichever comes first. read more

I have a small problem and it has "Daiso Japan" written all over it. If you are a fan of fine yet inexpensive Japanese merchandise, perhaps some of which you bought impulsively and may never actually use, then this is the store for you. Daiso specializes in peddling all sorts of products from Japan priced to sell for $1.50 each (although others are priced higher and clearly marked). I've been to the Anaheim, Artesia, and Hacienda Heights stores and this one is the most clean and organized of them all. It also looks much larger: aisles are wide enough to accommodate small shopping carts, a nice contrast from Anaheim and Artesia. If you've never been to Daiso Japan, think of a 99 Cent Store only with stuff normally sold in Japan. The packaging on all of the items is in Japanese with some English so that you know what it is. You can find everything from kitchen items to stationery (some of the coolest stuff there) to snacks to tools to dog toys. There is very little they don't have. Maneki-neko chopsticks? You're covered, man. Inflatable boobs? Yes, yes they have them. Fans of kawaii will love this store as will J-Pop fans as it is piped through the entire store to make for a fun shopping experience. It's hard not to have fun in here. And that's where my problem lies. Maybe it's the kawaii factor combined with the J-Pop that gets me going but it seems that some of the stuff is just to cool to pass up and it somehow ends up in my cart. I have little use for a kitchen sponge shaped like a slice of chocolate cake but it sure looks like fun to have and at $1.50, why not? Be warned, though: $1.50 items add up really quick so don't be shocked when you pay for your crap. A little advice when it comes to parking: NEVER park in front of this store. This is a busy shopping center and you will NEVER get out if you park there. I made this mistake once and now know better. Your best bet is to park somewhere in the middle of the lot and walk -- a little exercise never hurt anyone. And as many have said, there's also an 85C Cafe and Bakery in the same lot. If you have any money left after a trip to Daiso Japan, head over there for some amazing baked goods. Or go there first so you don't buy so much at Daiso. Both are highly recommended! Also note that all sales are final. You are reminded of this at checkout and your receipt is also stamped with said phrase. That's fine with me because I haven't bought a bad can of grape Sangaria soda just yet. Daiso Japan is a flat-out fun place to shop with crazy stuff everywhere you look. Chances are you will enjoy the experience as much as I always do. It's for this reason I hope they never build one in Long Beach, because I'd be broke all the time with a store that close to home. How have I not reviewed Daiso yet?? I come here so much for almost everything. Conveniently located off Azusa/Colima, behind Guppy House and 85 Degrees, it took over the old location of Viva Dance Center (which is located on the other side across the plaza). Daiso is strictly Japanese - comparative to the dollar stores in Japan. They sell almost the same things; there are definitely more variety and selection in Japan. What I love about Daiso is that I can find personal care products, household necessities, and random trinkets here - all for a great price of $1.50. Some items may be priced more, such as glass tupperware for $3 or $6. I've found super cute lunch boxes here, and my strawberry-designed fork cover comes real handy at work. My best purchases here so far are what I call "flats socks". I wear them when I wear flats and sometimes with heels. I find the padded ones, and they are super comfortable! Target sells them for ~$3 and Payless $2 - and those are sale prices! They get pretty busy here, but the lines move fast. They have separate registers for cash or card - you need at least $10 (that's 6 items) to use your card. I make sure I have at least 6 items before I get in line, hehe. read more

Little odds and ends, from the practical to the useless, I think Daiso is so cool. It, in essence is the Japanese version of the 99 cents store. Most items at Daiso will land you a buck fifty. I never really go for any one particular thing, persé, but this time I purchased tweezers, a clear cellphone screen cover, and makeup removing wipes. If anything, that tells you I still purchase like a teenager (lol); if they had Cheetos, I may well have purchased them also. In all, Daiso is fun with their array of house items, kitchenware, school supplies, and in my case, "stuff". Give it a try, it's sure to surprise! read more

I LOVE DAISO! Except I love the lower prices and exchange rate in Japan more than I love the Daiso in LA. That being said, this Daiso is clean and brightly lit. You also have a weird selection of gardening supplies and crafts that I haven't seen in any of the Japanese Daisos.Instead of only being a dollar, everything is $1.50 or above. I like that they sell Japanese plates and bowls as well as makeup and Japanese snacks. I also always buy my shower scrubby cloths from Japanese stores, and the ones they sell here are only $1.50!! They also have interesting little Japanese bags and food containers. I think they must rotate out different items when they become available. You're sure to find something you absolutely need, but never thought of here. I wouldn't even compare this to the 99 cent store, it's so much better. Another great aspect of this Daiso is that it is located in the same shopping center as 85degrees. Boba after shopping is a perfect ending. Plus, there is always plenty of parking. It was nice to experience an American Daiso, but I think I held back a little because I'd rather get my Daiso items in Asia and save 1/3 of my money :) read more

This neat Japanese store has got almost everything. We spent a lot more time in here than expected.. there's just so many aisles to go down with so many little goodies. Almost all the items inside are a buck fifty ($1.50) and if they're not, they'll be labeled. It's a good store to nab some Asian stuff at cheap prices. Drove by this place randomly today and saw signs on the grass for a new Daiso. So of course I had to drop by. Let's just say, parking in here is horrible!! :( Suggestion: park across the street in the 99 ranch plaza and walk. The store was clean, however, it was dang crowded. Lots of rubbing and bumping. Also, the BF wanted to buy one item, but the checkout line was sooo long we just gave up. So...another Daiso has opened! That makes 4 that I've visited: 1 in Torrance, 1 in Gardena, 1 in MP and this one. I still like the one in Gardena (next to 99 ranch, across from Sams Club and near the 91 freeway) because it's not as crowded. It makes the shopping experience more pleasurable. read more

This is the third Daiso I've been to, now. It's one of my favorites. In case you are new to Daiso, imagine cute Japanese things for $1.50. It is the high class equivalent to the 99 cents only or Dollar Tree stores. This place is way roomier than the Monterey Park location, and less crowded than both the Monterey Park and Irvine locations. It has a nice variety of stuff not offered at the other locations. I found cool Lego earplug decorations, and a huge assortment of ribbons and lace. This one also has a larger $1 section compared to the other Daisos I've been to. It includes a large assortment of kitchen goods and food. I also love how it's near 85 Degrees so I can get some fresh bread after I'm done shopping. read more
