This Daiso is located in Hacienda Heights on Azusa and Colima. It's in the same plaza as 85C and 168 Market. There are plenty of parking spaces. We go to it occasionally because there's another one in Rowland Heights that is closer to us. This Daiso is spacious and pretty big inside, and it's clean and neat. My younger daughter also likes this Daiso layout. However, my older daughter could not find the item that she was looking for, so she asked me to go to the other Daiso instead. read more

Daiso Japan is a store originally from Japan and has made its mark in California and many other states. This store is somewhat like a discount store that sells a variety of products and some interesting items as well. This one located in Hacienda Heights is large and there are many isles to browse for a while. I like how they have some Hello Kitty items that they sell. I also buy straws from here since they come in a larger packet. The store is super organized and clean. Always like coming in to daiso to get house ware . I've bought these slim pitchers that I use when I brew coffee and tea and they're perfect to not take up a lot of fridge space. They have snacks and even little cool disney stocking stuffers perfect for the upcoming holidays . I love shopping at Daiso stores! I've been to this particular store a few times already, but never wrote a review for it. This place is always clean when I've visited it and love it when I can find a parking space directly in front of it as well. I came back to complete my Japanese dinner set because we came back from Japan and wanted dinnerware to go along with the Japanese meals that I was preparing. Since I was still waiting for my dinner order from Delicious Food Corner, I walked over to Daiso. I love shopping at Daiso! They have the cutest stuff. The first thing I look for is their soft plush toys. Unfortunately, none of the plush toys here caught my eyes during my visit. It's okay... just means it wasn't meant to be. I believe in destiny... none of the plush toys were destined to come home with me that night LOL. I continued to walk around the store. I ended up in the snacks aisle. Now a few snacks did catch my eyes so they definitely came home with me LOL. As I was walking towards the cashier, I thought of my youngest daughter who asked for new home slippers. I made a U-turn and went to the slippers aisle... not the greatest styles and probably not the most comfortable... it was no go! Store was bright & aisles were organized, but this Daiso appeared smaller than the ones I normally go to. Aisles were a little snugged. Cashier was pleasant. Transaction was quick... I have been shopping here for a number of years and what I like about this shop is that it has tons of miscellaneous items that you would've never thought you needed until you purchased it. This translates to buying a lot of things that you could probably live without but find guilty pleasure in ultimately having. I don't find that there is as much variety in this store as there is in Tokyo itself, but I always find what I need (and do not need) regardless. read more

The closest Daiso to me and honestly it's my standard of comparison to all other Daisos that I go too. I do admit that sometimes the stocks are low for some of their items, but this only happens to me maybe 1/5 of the times that I do go. For 3 weeks I've been trying to find these collapsible containers that I originally bought from here. I went to every Daiso in the 626 and called every single one that wasn't LA or SD and lo and behold, this was the first one to have my item in stock again. Customer service is always nice and polite here. Although I don't succumb to the "Daiso" effect every time I go here, it's still a very consistent and dependable store. PRO-TIP: -To avoid lines, try NOT to go during lunch hours, RIGHT after work, or on the weekends. -Go when they restock again (I came on a Thursday and they were low on stock for their San-X items, came again next Monday, they were fully stocked, and then on a Wednesday of the same week and a lot of the items were already gone). -Go early for their cute seasonal items (Halloween - go during September, Christmas, go way earlier, etc), because they do run out and don't stock again! read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. Some of the staff also wear gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is opened to customers with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. While I was checking out some stuff at this establishment today, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: There is plenty of parking available here in this plaza. I live in the east coast, so visiting Daiso in the west coast made me very happy especially when I see a nearly dollar store that has a higher quality of product- I go wild and get very excited :) I love their inexpensive makeup section, household gadgets, cute decorations and fun gifts that you can grab anyone - if you are in the mood of course. This is the only Daiso that has a long line outside of people waiting to get in. I've been to at least 10 daisos in the area in the last month and none of the others are like this. The employees wait like 10-15 minutes at a time to start letting like 5 people in. Instead they should be just doing a one for one ratio of exiting and entering. Really not worth waiting I would recommend driving to the other one 10 mins away on Colima you would get in over there forsure before this line clears up haha. Pretty good selection at least so no complaints there and it's pretty clean.. The inventory management system isn't the best though. Like they'll be out of stock of certain items for months and then finally restock due to shipping and ordering issues. read more

I love Daiso!! You can pretty much find me here if I need to kill some time. It's such a fun place to browse. My favorite things to get here are stationary, storage boxes, nail polish, crafts, and some kitchenware. I also recently just bought tech winter gloves ($3) and knitted hats with pom poms on top ($4) and they are absolutely adorable! You can hardly tell they're from Daiso. Everything here ranges from $1.50 to $8. I've yet to see anything more expensive than $8 so you can definitely find some awesome bargains here. The staff here is always helpful and friendly too. The only downside is that they are always short-staffed at the checkout counter so the wait is usually 10 min. if it's a busy day. All in all, Daiso rocks. A $1.50 for everything in the store! Well, nearly everything as some items are more expensive. You can find small, inexpensive items here from sandals to stationary to food containers to stuffed animals to candy bars. There are just aisles and aisles of stuff you might or might not need. Or at least buy something just for the novelty of it. I've picked up inexpensive sandals here in the past and would have likely paid a lot more if purchased elsewhere. We came here to pass some time and pick up a few craft items. And we couldn't just stop at one item of course. I'm always in the market for earbuds and was able to find a pair of inexpensive earbuds here for $1.50. We also found an adorable stuffed animal ($5) and pair of slippers shaped like a cat ($4), which a young member of my party really loved. Also found an electric eraser (yes, they exist) and other miscellaneous items. After collecting our purchases, the line through the cashier was quick and the purchase was reiterated as a final purchase by the cashier. Maybe the tough part was collecting all those items if you didn't want a plastic bag, but luckily, a large metal tray container was one of our purchase and served as a substitute! Worse Daiso Japan ever !!!!!!!!!! The store air condition was turned off before closing. Outside was about 80°F Inside I would say it was about 90+°F and it was so stuffy. I wouldn't go there before closing as they have to turn off their AC to lower their cost. read more

If they open shop here in Hawaii, they could sell out several times. This store has some amazing deals for all kinds of uses, eats and just plain fun. I'm not the type to buy a bunch of cutesy stuff and pass it out but it became very tempting here. I could have gotten slippas in every color. No no no. Lots of kewl gadgets, school supplies, knicky knackys and interesting snacks and drinks. Next time I may come with a bigger suit case just to fit some of this stuff in there. Everything was in order, aisles were clean, didn't see any go-backs at all. Although staff was a bit reserved I could see they were helpful and pleasant to be with. I really like this Daiso! It's well lit and has a large assortment of items. I can find a lot of stuff here that I wouldn't be able to in other locations such as specific cookware or stationary. Items here are also updated really frequently so it seems like there is something new every time I visit. This Daiso is also well staffed and its interior is big. So, even though there might be a lot of people shopping around, the space doesn't feel crammed and the check out lines usually move quickly. read more

This place is the go to for cheap stationary or basically almost anything you need at home. I went here yesterday with my little sister and was shocked at that everything was $1.50. Everything is inexperience but at the same time probably their quality isn't as good but that doesn't matter because there are some things or half the things in here where quality doesn't matter. The store itself is so white inside. The lighting is so bright which gives it a good and warm vibe to it. I ended up buying some "socks for the chairs" to put on my little Pomeranian lol. It was hilarious when he actually fit them. Anyway this is a good place to just walk around in every aisle looking if you need this or that and not having to worry about how expensive your cart may be since this place is inexpensive as it is. Cute stuff galore! Daiso Japan is a big store that sells lots of items for low prices. Everything is $1.50 unless otherwise stated which is pretty cheap. Their mission is to help customers "Find surprises and fun!" After walking around their store, I realized they weren't kidding. Tons of aisles throughout with all kinds of items! Anything that is usually deemed a boring plain item, they somehow morphed it into a super cute form. This can be in animal shaped, pleasant pastel colors, or just nicely designed. Items they sell include tupperwares, bags, baskets, pouches, buckets, microfiber cloths, phone accessories, cd cases, storage bins, cosmetics, wrapping paper, stationary, mugs, and much more. The music includes anywhere from bubblegum Japanese pop, techno-ish music, and some male Japanese pop singers that sound like they need fiber tablets. Narrow aisles! But they are clean and very well organized. The basket carts were pretty small so it was easy to navigate them around. It's only a problem when people are crammed up in one aisle because then I just give up checking that aisle. Nice air conditioning flowing throughout the store. But because of the frustration of wanting to buy everything, I felt like my body heated up fast. As you're walking to checkout, you'll find yourself in a maze of Yan Yan and Hello Panda snacks.. and batteries which seem to sell out fast. No returns or exchanges! All sales are final! Overall, this is a very cute store! Most of the items do say that they're made exclusively for Daiso Japan. Thus, this makes most of the items here not found in other stores. I was able to get some things here and I'd be back to make some more random purchases. read more

The Japanese version of a 99 cents store but better. I was only looking for an air freshener for my car but I walked away with $30 worth of stuff. The aisles are packed with lots of Japanese goodies, and most are only a $1.50. Snacks, make-up- I know many girls come here for their eyelash selections, scarves, socks, slippers, plastic containers like bento containers, kitchenware with some nice-looking knives and graters, toys, school supplies like some lead pencils I bought, tote-bags, and umbrellas. So many colors and styles for their ceramic dishes and they're around $3-$4, I found several that I wanted to buy but didn't. The most expensive thing here is a Japanese doll for around $10. I got an eyelash curler, some fake eyelashes, eyelash glue. They also have hair products, I got some scrunchies with a floral design. I also got an ice pack/warmer, some snacks, drinks, a pill case, a shoe deodorizer, and other stuff. They also sell chargers for iphones for $3. The store had a whole wall of containers in different colors, some wrapping paper, and alot of organizational stuff. $10 min to use a credit card but there's no min if you use a debit card. No returns or exchanges. The staff is friendly and the place is clean and organized. Location is close to 85 Bakery so the parking can get packed. read more

I have shopped at Daiso a few times in different locations. This location seems to be a little bigger than the Buena Park one. The Developer is smart to have 85C Bakery & Daiso in the same plaza. I don't know of anyone have ever left this store without buying anything. It's just like a Dollar Tree store but with all Japanese goods. You can find some amazing things for $1.50. The great find for me were the beautiful Japanese dinnerware,sake bottles kitchen items, cups, and cute baking/sushi supplies. There were items over $1.50 but still really inexpensive. You can do some serious damage in your wallet here. Store rules clearly announced throughout the intercom in the store. I first fell in love with Daiso in the Bay Area years ago. It was a special joy when Daiso arrive in Torrance, and now they have popped up in the San Gabriel Valley. Every thing is $1.50 unless a different price is marked on the item. The store has a variety of different items for every room of the house. Of course the quality of the merchandise isn't stellar, but people don't come here for tools that they will hand down from generation to generation. I love the Japanese items, which remind me of the old Marukai discount store. Crafty items, office items, kitchen items, beauty items, cleaning items, food item, etc. There is a little something for everyone at this wonderful store. It's always kept clean and organized. Think Dollar Store Asian Style! If you can't tell, I love Dollar Store for those household items you don't want to pay premium price for (i.e., party supplies, decorations, etc.), but this place is that with a tad better quality. Most everything here is $1.50, otherwise, it will be marked as $3/4/5, etc. (I didn't see much priced above $5 fyi) You can find everything here from seasonal goodies to household slippers, toys for kids, Japanese snacks, lots of Asian-tailored beauty products. You name it, they most likely had it Store was well-organized and clean. My daughter and I loved roaming up and down the aisles just browsing at all the stuff they have, with her interjecting "mommy can I have that?" Every 2 seconds. Located in the same plaza as 85 Degree & Guppy Tea House. I came by here with my friend and decided to walk through pretty much almost every aisle to look at everything. My friend ended up purchasing $40+ worth of items here and I was actually very good at only purchasing 2 items (there is a $10 minimum for credit cards by the way but no minimum for debit cards and of course use of cash). I have been to few of the other Daiso stores and this was my 1st coming to this location. I love coming to this store but the worse thing about this store is that it just tends to bring out the impulse buyer in all of us (Although this trip I did end up showing much more restraint this time). One thing I do not like about this store (well any Daiso really) sells expired food items (located in a special location, and it usually sells for $1 or less). I am not a fan of expired food items and think they shouldn't even try to sell these food items even to try to get some money (yes I know other markets do this as well and I also do not agree with it). Anyways, there is plenty of parking. But if you come here when it starts to get dark, the plaza does not really have a lot a light.. pretty poorly lit, so just be careful when walking to and from your car and driving in and out of the plaza. read more

It is one of the bigger stores so has so much more selection compared to other ones, like Ktown Daiso, and is my favorite one. Always stocked, well organized, and employees are friendly. 09/07 Update: I got my money back, 6 days later. :) Original review: I love Daiso; been to many different locations. This place is nice and clean, but can get pretty crowded. There is ample parking outside, and it is close to great stores. Just be careful when checking out. The cashier charged me twice, and supposedly refunded me. Yet, 4 days later, and it's still not showing in my account. The original charge, however, showed up just fine. Just ask for cash, if you ever encounter this issue It's not too big of a deal, given they're a bargain store, but still... money wrongfully charged is money wrongfully taken out of my pocket. read more
