We were checking out through the self-checkout line on June 7th at approximately 2:45 PM. We attempted to use a coupon that I had photographed on my phone. Tammy, who was monitoring the self-checkout area, rudely told us, "We can't take the coupon. It has to be a real one, just like the one I have in my hand." After we completed our purchase, Tammy continued handing out new coupons to other customers but deliberately did not offer one to us. Feeling singled out, we went to the front desk to report the situation. The staff there reviewed the issue, honored our coupon, and provided us with the coupon that Tammy had refused to give us. We then approached Tammy and politely asked why she chose not to give us a coupon when she was giving them to everyone else. Her response was, "You already left." Of course, every customer leaves after paying, so that explanation made no sense. When we told her that we intended to report what we perceived as prejudicial and discriminatory treatment, she simply replied, "Go ahead." I was shocked by the rude and dismissive behavior. The front desk staff handled the situation professionally, but Tammy's conduct left a very negative impression. No customer should feel singled out or treated differently while simply trying to check out. read more

Massive store with so many show rooms. You can find anything you need here. I got two dressers which was super easy for self service. Downside was it was crazy heavy. Also tried their food court and Swedish meatballs. It's not the most exciting food but it's not overly priced so I appreciate that. It was good for what it was! read more

Haven't been here in awhile. Ikea has some good deals on decent quality furniture. We came here tonight to look for bookshelves and ended up purchasing a few. This store is mostly a self service store. This location is well organized and clean. However the cashier must have been having a bad day and was a bit short tempered and a bit un friendly. It seems like alot of stores are relaying on self checkout. They only had one lane open for someone to help you with your purchases. The rest were self checkout lines. Becareful though somethings are lower end quality and wont last as long as it should. But over all I would say its worth coming here to see what the store has to offer read more

Still one of my favorite IKEAs and they still got it with the vibes, furniture, house goods, and of course their Swedish pantry items and the $2 soft serve. Always a good place for snacks - their cinnamon rolls are also pretty good and all are super affordable. They have changed this place up a bit since the last time I was here. It's like they did an entire overhaul of the showroom - now they include much more of the marketplace items in the showroom, too. There are more bins in between the showroom. They have added a lot of self-checkout areas now. There's still staff at the registers, but it looked like they replaced over half the checkouts to self ones. This IKEA has been in the area for over two decades now. Visited IKEA with my loving partner as we are looking for baby/toddler furniture inspiration, since we are expecting our firstborn soon. I love that their toddler section of the furniture is more organized and tailored towards each style of furniture plus key toys and plushies. We also explored other areas for desired room inspirations, and it was pleasant to see that they have a self 3D planner iPad to help make a custom room design that included prices of each item along with the total cost. Of course, we had to try the signature IKEA Swedish bistro, a smaller convenient food court on the main floor. We ordered 1x veggie dog, 1x hot dog, and a meatball sundae (3PC Meatballs + Mashed Potatoes with Gravy + Lingonberry Jam). All of this only costed $4.86, which is super affordable and somewhat filling for 3 items. It is neat that there is self-serve ketchup and mustard for the hot dogs. Next time, however, I would stick with the second floor IKEA Swedish restaurant upstairs. I would recommend this more than the first floor food court, as they have more options, more seating, and better portions for similar prices. All items we ordered tasted good, but we were not blown away by any of these foods. The meatballs, of course, are the hype around here. Shopped here many times for various furniture in my house including office chairs, tables, and various other furniture. I absolutely love the design of IKEA & their concept of showcasing all their products. Products are easily accessible & easy to find if you know your way around their SKU system. Only slightly negative is that you can get lost very easily as they do a very good job of attracting the eyes of the consumer. Regardless, my wife and I visited to shop for baby attire & cribs as our baby is on the way. I love the way they setup the structures of the cribs and they show all types of cribs & baby beds. Surrounding them are similar concept toys, dolls, and other baby type products. Beautiful marketing down to the spec. We also got curious and created our very own custom dream room on a iPad type device which was a nice gimmick to the store. It even shows all the product details with the price of course so you can get a gauge of what the range of price is like. Perfect for any planner that wants to get their dream room/products. Lastly, we went to try their food court which my wife recommended. We had the smaller food court downstairs as we weren't that hungry at the time. We spent last than $5 for 2 hot dogs & meatball sundae which is pretty fulfilling for the price paid. Although portions are not big as expected. We also checked out the food court upstairs that's more spacious than the downstairs court and the upstairs food court has way more food options for similar prices. Missed out on that so next time we visit, we'll definitely dine in at the upstairs food court instead of downstairs. Food is decent for the price, not anything too special. However, the meatballs hype is definitely real as they're very tasty considering that IKEA is more known for furniture. read more

We stopped by early to do some furniture shopping and figured we'd grab a quick lunch at the cafeteria before diving into the store. We got the salmon fillet salad which was well-prepared. The sweet dill-mustard dressing was a bright, zesty sauce that stood out a lot; it added a fresh, citrusy kick that balanced everything really well. Apparently the dressing is sold at IKEA as well (SÅS SENAP & DILL). Of course, we couldn't skip the classic Swedish meatballs. The plate of 8 came with the usual sides, and it absolutely hit the spot. The lingonberry jam added that perfect sweet-tart contrast, and the peas were great. Simple, but made me question why I disliked them when I was a kid. We finished with a Princess cake, which had a really nice almond-forward flavor and a light, not-too-sweet jammy finish. I've been coming to the IKEA in West Covina for years and even though I never wrote a review before, I have to give them credit because they've really improved over time. Every visit feels a little better than the last, from the organization to how much cleaner and more efficient everything has become. Today I just stopped by to grab candles and a vase for flowers, and it was one of the fastest trips I've ever had. A little tip for anyone who already knows what they want and wants to skip the long maze inside: if you're coming off Barranca, take the first entrance going north and park on the top level. That level takes you directly to the customer service area and near the exit, so you can get in and out quickly. I also needed a small replacement part for a bed I bought about four years ago, and the gentleman at customer service was incredibly kind and helpful. He made the whole process so easy and genuinely went out of his way to help me. After that, I got everything I needed and was back in my car within twenty minutes. When I do take the full walk through the store, I've noticed they've made it much easier to follow with clear signs, which is great for anyone who tends to get turned around in IKEA's layout. My only minor complaint is that they rely a lot on self-checkout, which isn't my favorite, but the employees are always nearby and willing to help if you have a lot of items. The value is also reasonable on majority of items! Overall, this IKEA is one of my favorite locations. It's close to home, well run, and always improving. Whether I'm here for big furniture or just candles, I always leave happy with my experience. read more

We always love to shop and walk around Ikea. This IKEA is located in West Covina on Barranca close to freeway 10. This IKEA store in Covina, California is 325,000 square feet. It's still one of the larger IKEA store in the States, even though it's still smaller than the new location in Burbank for 456,000 sq ft. We just shopped at IKEA for a sleeper sofa, some cushions, meatballs, lingonberry sauce, photo frame, etc. At first we thought it was nice that we didn't need to look for our furniture and pick up the item ourselves. We paid the furniture first and then they gave us an order number. We had to wait at the furniture pick up and home delivery and it showed our pick up number on the screen. We were told that we had to wait about 20 minutes. However, we waited for more than 40 minutes for picking up our furniture. I had to ask for the lady twice for our order. We saw some of the furnitures got pushed out but she didn't check it until I asked her the second time. (Our receipt time was 3:04 pm and we just picked up our furniture at 3:45 now) We think that it's easier and faster to pick up the furniture ourselves though. I also like the Ikea cafeteria meatballs, salmon dish, and their yogurt. You can also buy the food for to-go. We are glad that there's an Ikea that is not far from us. We just hope that they will speed up the process for us to pick up our furniture. read more

We were up for some retail tourism after lunch at Eastland Center and crossed the street to come over to IKEA. I parked in the garage under the store, and we took the escalator up to the first level. The layout was confusing at first, but friendly associates helped get us to where we wanted to browse. Everything of interest this day was one the first level, so we never made it up to the main showrooms on the second level. I asked for the clerk's name; Jasmine. when I went to check out, an IKEA employee , woman with no make up and red hair, was staring at every move I made. She had a hard time believing the frame was not returnable and questioned it. This was a problem. There must have been 20 people in line waiting, another issue at IKEA. Then she asked for 2 of my items to check that I did not try to steal anything. I asked if she did that to everyone. She said it was random. How would the customer know if it is random or racial profiling? My 10 year old nephew was with me and asked me after if she did that due to my brown skin. Train your people better, IKEA!!!! I feel like I would be spending so much time and money here if it was closer to where I live. It was super hot outside and I wanted to find some household essentials for my kitchen but didn't know where to go. Since we went to Costco earlier we decided to drop by ikea and make it a full trip. Let me just say I don't come to IKEA myself and have always came with others and I got lost trying to find the entrance to the parking lot! Almost went through delivery section and didn't realize there's an entrance after the light! Parking is plenty, although we parked what we thought was close we actually walked pretty far to the elevators and escalators to get to level 1. We did a full 360 tour, from level 2 showrooms to level 1 shopping. My son loved the showrooms, I also enjoyed the many ways to decorate and arrange furniture as it makes me feel like things could be simpler and less cluttered. A huge suggestion which not sure if they'll even consider is having restrooms at the other side of the store in level 2... my son had to use the restroom and I had to carry him across the store to the restroom next the the restaurant! Didn't realize where to turn and made a full circle back to where we came in! Prices are reasonable, I think due to the simplicity and less choices I wanted to redo my entire kitchen if I could! I also wanted to get some snacks but unfortunately that is where I didn't see myself spending 8.99 on oat cookies (although there's a lot I can't)... however I can always trust their value priced sand which cookies which my son loves. My parents didn't want to eat at the restaurant, they saw the price and thought it wasn't worth it. But we did end up going to the cafe side near checkout to get a slice of pizza to try which was actually very bread like and just okay. We ended up doing self checkout which took some time as many others got a lot of items. They are going through a remodel right now so some areas are blocked off but there's still plenty of space to explore and shop. I've been going to IKEA for many years. Recently just moved into a new place this month. We had to pick up a few things and I'm always surprised that they have the right items when needed. Sadly, the items that we had used before, are no longer available, but, the other options were amazing. If I list all of them, it would be too much. Just for example, hanging lights, lampshades, trash cans, welcome mats, door, hooks, buckets for organization, soap, dispensers, mixing bowls, and spare parts to a chair that we love, but somehow broke. Of course we always stop by to have a quick little bike at their café for breakfast, and of course, a little snack on their way through the exit. You can't beat the price and the service was always good. I know on weekends it's crazy, it's hard to get any service associates to help, but, during the weekdays when there's not many people, we always have such great experiences. read more

This is a review for the food at this ikea. Staff were super helpful and friendly! We got our meatballs in about 10 minutes and it was $12 for a plate of 12. This comes with some peas, potatoes, jam, and gravy. Overall, it was fine. Very bland. The potato's were nasty instant gunk, but the gravy was pretty good. It balances out okay. It's definitely cafeteria style, and cafeteria quality. There were limited options , but it's not bad if you want a meal while you're shopping. read more

The whole meal was good in general. - Cesar Salad was very fresh and humongous - Garlic toast was nice and crispy - French fries was crispy and the amount was good. - Chocolate cake was rich and creamy. The food was good and affordable. After we ate, we walked around the place. I am not a regular shopper there. The place had a lot of creative ideas for decor. 9/12/24 Looking for an entry hall bench, pantry, full length mirror. Will IKEA come through for me? It's the end of a long 12 hour shift, I'm exhausted. this had better be good. There's some sections under construction so traversing this huge store was a pain. All in all, we found what we needed without much fuss with the help of some staff. We ended up getting an entry hall bench, including the containers that go with it with many selections of colors, and textures of the containers-- fabric, faux wood, etc.---versatility at its finest. I loved going to IKEA as a kid. It almost felt like a theme park for furniture. It was so cool looking at all of the different ways you can decorate your space, even if it was small. Lately, the furniture has gotten more expensive in my opinion, I remember when it was more affordable, but I guess with the introduction of TEMU, Amazon and other places you can find cheap furniture, it is making it a bit more difficult to stay competitive! The service at IKEA is quite slow... finding an employee in this maze of a store can be quite difficult, and don't even think about making a quick stop at the customer service/return desk! You'd have to set aside at least an hour before getting seen, and then another 30-40 minutes to get serviced. What I do enjoy is their cafeteria section, and the marketplace. They used to have this dessert called "Princess Cake" and it was so delightful! A soft cake, with raspberry jam, mouse topped with marzipan. Unfortunately it is no longer being sold. The real thrill? The "As-Is" section. It's like thrifting but for furniture. Scored a half-built bookshelf and a mystery drawer for a steal. Who needs instructions anyway?
