Glad to have a new Daiso finally open up in La Cañada where it's easily accesible to Burbank, Glendale and technically Pasadena. Most Daiso locations tend to be six to twelve miles away or roughly over half an hour to get to. This Daiso is small but caters to more students with the sheer amount of stationary. It was nice to finally get refill blades and staples as well as small knick knaks. However, the downside is that this Daiso has hardly any practical items like a more extensive kitchenware section. The gardening section was lacking and when you look at each section closely, there is overflow and repeat stationary items that should be only in the stationary section. The odd pen and eraser was annoying to see when I would like a screw driver kit to be in its place. The other downsides are the small parking lot and well... The students because one group parked into the disabled parking spot just so they could get Starbucks. When I was backing out, these students almost hit my car while backing out. My car was about two thirds backed out already yet the students never looked behind them to check for cars. I guess they were too excited for Starbucks since one student was driving and waiting for their friends to get the drinks. Yet when their friends got into the car, I made direct eye contact with one of the students who got into the front passanger so this rules out the students not knowing I was backing up. Fortunately, when I honked the moment I realized the students were backing up into me, they stopped. An interesting start to a weekend for sure. So if you head to this Daiso, keep in mind there will be a lot of students especially new drivers. I would only go to Daiso if you need stationary and maybe some unique item or two like a plushie.

I wanted to pick up some snacks for my other nephew to have at his dorm. I had heard from my dear friend Cindy S that Daiso recently opened in La Canada, so I decided to check it out. The store is clean and very well organized. It's easy to find what you are looking for. It's smaller than the Temple City location but it's stocked with a variety of items. I like this store better. It's less intimidating and easier to navigate. Lilliana assisted me at check out and she was very sweet. It's located in a shopping plaza, so parking is plentiful.

Finally, a Daiso store that's close to me. Unfortunately it's located in a strip mall with Starbucks and Trader Joe's so parking will be limited especially on the weekends. It's a smaller store than your average Daiso, but it's so close to where I live, I have to give it 5 stars. Please support this business.

So happy that this location opened. Size and collection are comparable to locations in 626 in my opinion. Loving all of the Sanrio collabs and I included pics of some of the random things I picked up.

We walked every aisle; they have good products on display. I picked up a sturdy, colorful medicine container and my friend found an umbrella, ramekins, salt and pepper jars at an affordable price. I saw some good silver wares that I am planning to come back to buy (if they will still be there). The aisles are pretty neat, shelves are stocked, and employees are welcoming. Parking is plenty and free. Only thing to note: I didn't see a public restroom though. It was a good shopping trip.

Vons next door ran out of butcher's twine and I didn't feel like driving around Glendale looking for it; the clerk at the market suggested I stop by DK. Dollar King is like a bootleg "Dollar Tree", but this place has more interesting stuff. They are a discount store that has Arts & Crafts, Party Supplies, Kitchen Accessories, Electrical Gadgets, Office Supplies and more.... I was pleasantly surprised. I personally dig the spice section. Lots of Goya and Sadaf brands spices. I walked outta here with a bunch of spices for my pantry, kids party supplies; and I did find that butcher's or kitchen twine I originally came for, lol. Cool store. I'll be back.

The biggest selection of clothing is women's, although there is a small children and men's area. The shop is in a lovely former private home which also houses the offices of the Assistance League. There are plenty of housewares and decorative items and I often purchase greeting cards there for 75 cents each. The icing on the cake is that the Assistance League was the first nonprofit, non-sectarian, non partisan organization started in the western United States. The League's origin goes back to the great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake when Anne Banning, a Los Angeles society woman, and some of her friends, assisted victims of the disaster. Years later, in 1919, the first chapter of the league was formed and the work continues today. The money raised by the Assistance League goes right back into the local community and supports the arts for youth, among other things. You can drop your donations off during the hours the shop is open.

They were talking amongst each other secretly saying how we always come late on purpose etc etc. I'm sorry, but as long as that door is open, we have the right to come in. I always get to the register before 10pm and check out before 10pm. If you guys need time to close the place up or wanna leave early then here's some advice: CLOSE YOUR DOORS AT 9:45pm and list on Yelp and Google that you close at 9:45. Until then you have no right to complain. People have work and stuff and sometimes have no choice but to come in last minute to grab last minute items. It's completely normal and they should not be made guilty for it. I don't think the GM is going to be ok with all of your bitching among yourselves or to the customers that they are there late. As long as the doors are open we have the right to come in and make our purchases before store closing. You guys can start cleaning after 10pm, not on OUR time! Grrr PS- also, talking behind people's back is considered discrimination. And managers should implement proper training to prevent potential liabilities and lawsuits. This is not right!!

The selection of items is always great, since the discounts are significant and meaningful. They usually stock on items that didn't sell well in other regular grocery chains, whether it be less popular flavors of certain cereals, or certain products that were overstocked but didn't sell well in more mainstream supermarkets. Their loss is our gain, I guess. I put a few pictures showing the significant markdowns on some great items. Definitely recommended to come at least once every 2 weeks for some great items that may be hard to find somewhere else, or items that maybe you wouldn't have tried otherwise. Customer service is still just ok, but definitely a lot better than the last time I was here in 2023.

I remember coming here specifically for big bags of pierogis and dumplings, but I didn't see those this time. I did pick up a pack of ribs for $5.99, which I think is a pretty good deal.
