My only complaint is - they have a good size parking lot in back but to get in, you go down a long driveway that won't fit one car in each direction. So if you're going in and out and someone comes the other way, someone has to back up to let the other go in/out. My first impression was how old and kind of dirty/messy it was. Found a lot of stuff though! You can buy school supplies, work out clothes, make-up, and what not. Best of all, my daughter found what she needed! The store lady was kind enough to order more for my daughter. She even called my daughter when the stuff came in and held it for my daughter at the counter till we came to get it. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Plenty of free parking next to the store.

I initially came to visit the jewelry department but no one was there. I kept waiting and came back around and still, no employee attending the jewelry department. They didn't have much selection anyways, so I took it as a sign. The clothes were a bit messy, not much to pick from either. This location used to be my favorite but lately it's becoming less of that. Large parking lot available otherwise and this store is two floors.

We walked every aisle; they have good products on display. I picked up a sturdy, colorful medicine container and my friend found an umbrella, ramekins, salt and pepper jars at an affordable price. I saw some good silver wares that I am planning to come back to buy (if they will still be there). The aisles are pretty neat, shelves are stocked, and employees are welcoming. They try to offer items priced $5 and lower... I just wanted to look. I parked across the street in the free parking structure and went up the escalator to the second floor. Wow... what a variety of goods: Halloween decorations, books, dorm supplies, hair accessories, costume jewelry, headphones, pet supplies, clothing, and Hello Kitty items such as socks, ukulele, key chains, water bottles, and rubber duckies dressed in Sanrio character costumes! The biggest selection of clothing is women's, although there is a small children and men's area. The shop is in a lovely former private home which also houses the offices of the Assistance League. There are plenty of housewares and decorative items and I often purchase greeting cards there for 75 cents each. The icing on the cake is that the Assistance League was the first nonprofit, non-sectarian, non partisan organization started in the western United States. The League's origin goes back to the great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake when Anne Banning, a Los Angeles society woman, and some of her friends, assisted victims of the disaster. Years later, in 1919, the first chapter of the league was formed and the work continues today. The money raised by the Assistance League goes right back into the local community and supports the arts for youth, among other things. You can drop your donations off during the hours the shop is open.

I used to stop by here whenever I went to Aldi next door, but after that location burned down, I didn't visit this area much anymore. Today, though, I saw an ad for $0.99 eggs at Grocery Outlet and decided to come back. I spent some time at the store browsing for deals. I remember coming here specifically for big bags of pierogis and dumplings, but I didn't see those this time. I did pick up a pack of ribs for $5.99, which I think is a pretty good deal. I also noticed they carry a lot of their own Simply Go brand items, though I'm not sure about the quality yet. I'll come back when I see good deals that catch my eye.
