The biggest branch of Daiso I've ever been. This is where Marshalls was formerly located in Lakewood. The store is wide and plenty of space to walk around. More store shelves so more product choices as well. Daiso basically has a similarity with 99 cents or dollar tree stores but more concentrated on Japanese products. You can find lots of goodies , tools and accessories for a cheap price and are useful depending on your needs. The only difference is that all sales are final and you need to pay cash if your purchase is less than $10 to avoid extra charge. read more

I've seen this particular store before and always wondered what was inside. I finally had the chance to check it out recently. This is a cute Japanese-themed store that carries all kinds of merchandise. It reminds me very much of Dollar Tree but with Japanese items. I saw stationery, wrapping paper, slippers and packaged goodies near the cashier like candies and cookies. I was hoping to find the Botan rice candy with the edible inner wrapper and was disappointed to discover they did not carry it. :-( The store is bright and clean and all the items are attractively arranged on the shelves. This would be a good place to go if you're looking for Christmas stocking stuffers or any kind of trinkets for gifts. read more

Wow. I just wanted to exchange a cooler bag that was defective which I didn't notice when bought it. (With a receipt) I was told absolutely no exchange even if it was a defective merchandise. I asked for a corporate address so I can write to them, there isn't such a thing, and she said she was prohibited from giving any info to the customers!!!!! And of course no manager! What a rip off. If I am not mistaken, I do believe a few years ago, there used to be a Marshalls located right where Daiso Japan now sits. But wow, coming in here I never seen so much items on special like I usually would anywhere else. Daiso Japan is your local 99 cents store(but with Daiso, everything is $1.50). It reminds me somewhat of entering a Giant Dollar, only in Japanese. Every single item they have here is Japanese and they have the writing in their packaging to prove otherwise. They have it all here, from household items to stationary supplies to cosmetics to snacks...they have it all. Just for the fact that everything(unless otherwise marked) is $1.50, hey, you cannot complain about that. There are some items that may be as you would call it, "99 cents material like" but then again, hey, give it a shot. Neatly organized with helpful staff all around, this is one place that I have definitely been overlooking and will definitely be back. I came here for the grand opening around 9:40 and there was already a long line of people excited to go inside and check the place out. Of course grabbing a goodie bag for themselves as they exit with purchase. They event was very well organized and went smoothly, the cashiers did great considering the long line to check out. I'm loving this place since its very spacious and nothing is cramped. Considering there's about 200 people inside the store shopping. It only got hectic once you had to get in line but cusomters were able to sort themselves out. Will be coming back to try out their other products. read more

This place is the NEW dollar store!! ...tons of fun stuff to see - new stuff to buy - something for everyone in my house!! LOL. You can come in here and spend a ton of time just because there is SOOO much stuff in this store. Some things you can walk right by because you know you don't need, but somethings... you just have to put on the brakes and marvel at how it's possible that nearly all this stuff is only $1.50!! Be careful because some stuff is not $1.50!! I learned this the hard way... I got in my $1.50 buying frenzy and didn't realize some things were more than that until I got home and looked at my receipt. BUT - baskets for $3 are still a steal!!! Oh, and my receipt was stamped no returns / refunds but I didn't see a sign or anything that said that... not that I was planning on returning anything, but I felt like they kind of sprung that on me. This store is on some bullshit. Yes, this store is cheap. Yes, you can find everything at this store from headphones to a lawn mower for $1-$5. You heard correctly. However, the quality follows in suit. My mom was raving about this place, informing me how it was like a Korean ninety-nine cents store, and offered a wide variety of international products. I entered the store not expecting much, as I've never been a fan of the 99 cents chain we've got scattered around the nation. Even the air smells refurbished. Anyway. So, I entered the store to peruse, twenty dollar bill tucked in my back pocket incase anything catches my eye. I'm very much into culinary arts, so naturally I drifted towards the kitchen supply section. Do keep in mind I'm not the type of person to purchase to $0.99 batteries or television set and complain when my device sets afire after a few days. I'm practical. I purchased a dispensary. It's basically a miniature squirt bottle used to store condiments, such as ketchup, and things of that nature---at least that's what I thought, as the picture on the label suggested. My subtotal came to $1.50. On the bottom of the receipt is print reading, "All sales are final & that there are no returns." That should have been the first sign. A few weeks later I pour a homemade concoction of mayo/sirracha into it after I finish playing a dish. I squeeze and out comes nothing. I squeeze again. Once again, nothing. Flustered, I remove the top to inspect the cap to see that it's been fused shut with plastic. The little dot you see atop does not allow for any passage of any fluid. Mass deception. I had to take a knife to the top and trim the top 0.25 cm to release the sauce. Tossed it in the trash afterward. You had one job, Daiso. One fucking job. If you can't get something as simple as drilling a size able hole onto a bottle cap, then I really don't want to see any more. read more

I am in $1.50 Heaven!! I found all kinds of cool things for my house here. Dishes, waste baskets, storage containers, etc. I even found suspenders for my daughter (mini stylist) Some things cost more ($2-$3) but you can get a basket of treasures for $20! There are drinks on the Far East wall. There is a credit card minimum or charge ( can't quite remember) but no charge for debit. read more

I needed party supplies for my daughters 16th birthday party. The store was closing in less than 10 minutes and I was able to find cute cellophane gift bags to use as goody bags. I filled it with cute pencils, erasers, tissue, and mini pocky sticks which I got those in a value pack from vons next door. I also found cute socks ($2), a mug, pencil/makeup bag, and a journal to use as prizes. Everything was $1.50 except the socks. With so many great options it was fast and easy to find everything I needed. We come here often for household items and inexpensive gifts. I give this Daiso a solid 4 stars (at least, in the winter!). I know myself well enough to know this will only get 3 stars in the summer and 2 in the Santa Anas. They'd get 4 stars All the time if they had air conditioning like the other Daisos. (Hint, hint) Selection here was highly varied, but available quantities were limited. The organization of this Daiso doesn't make quite as much sense as the Garden Grove and Hacienda Heights locations. But what can I say? It's a Daiso, and that always counts as a win in my book. read more

I've been to a lot of Daisos, and this one isn't particularly unique, but it seemed a bit smaller than the others. However, Daiso is amazing in general, so it's still great. Daiso sells a variety of items at $1.50 (some items are more, but they are always marked if they are above $1.50). They sell beauty products, gardening tools, kitchen utensils, dishes, snacks, stationery, and more. There's nothing really wrong with this particular Daiso, and I realize that people's opinion of the store will vary with their personal purchases/service/how well stocked everything is. I visited the place to find white elephant gift. I didn't know what kind of good they have there. Turned to be better version of 99 cents store with Japanese stuff made in China. Out of ALL of the Daisos that I have been to, this is definitely the best one. It's bigger, employees are friendlier and very well organized! When I was at check out, I was greeted by the most friendliest girl and we chatted about our love for cats (lol). I have had a bad experience with customer service at the Long Beach location so to come here and have someone exceed my expectations greatly was wonderful. I felt like there was more of a variety of things at this location than the one in Artesia and Long Beach. I love how conveniently large it is because the one in Artesia is so tight and I always feel squished in there - it's soooo hard to get around people. Nonetheless, they have so many cute knick knacks; I typically hate spending money on things I don't need, but Daiso is SO cheap that it's worth it! Everything $1.50! Japanese Dollar stores really blow other discount stores out of the water. The quality and array of merchandise available is fantastic. Including a great selection of Japanese treats and home goods. I had always wondered what was in the Daiso store as I drove by one on the way home so finally I stopped by this location. It's located in a strip mall near some grocery stores and easy parking lots. It's clean nd tidy inside. There are tons of little storage containers and other things. Nothing is expensive and there are some fun snacks in there. This store has items that the one in Gardena does not have. It is smaller than the other Daiso stores I have been to but is still just as clean. They don't have a big of a selection but you can't really complain when everything is about $1.50. Everything else is priced as marked. Parking is easy to find. The only drawback is that you have to spend $10 or more to use your ATM. read more

If you want to entertain yourself shopping for cheap throw away junk then shop here. I purchased a sun shade that lasted a whole 30 seconds and came apart. Of course there is a no refund or exchange policy in place even for defective cheap junk! You're better off shopping at the Dollar store and save fifty cents. Super cute Japanese discount store. Almost everything is $1.50. Lots of Japanese snacks, dishware, and trinkets. They also have a lot of cosmetics, kitchen stuff, bento boxes, accessories...all kinds of things! Very similar to a regular dollar store, but carries Japanese items. I will definitely be here often. OMG.....let me just say it's the best store in the whole world! They have everything! I really wanted to buy everything but then my boyfriend reminds me how I don't need this and that. They have the cutest wrapping paper with such random designs. If I see floral print then I will buy it! Love this place. The store is always clean and orderly which is a big plus. We got their version of mason jars which came with a handy screw on top, each for $1.50.
