Nicest and newest Five Below we've been to, and it's the closest to our home! There are over 1,700 Five Below stores across the U.S. and we seem to find them in outlet malls that we visit. So we were pleased, when we saw the sign for a Five Below come up on the main billboard for the Pike Outlets, located in downtown Long Beach. So on a Saturday afternoon after eating lunch, we stopped in. The store was fully stocked and well organized, and checkout was easy. One negative was that finding prices could be difficult....nothing was individually marked and some signage didn't list prices. The store is geared towards pre-teens and teens...so things like housewares don't exist here. The five dollars and below is just an advisement...there are a lot of items that sell for well above that (up to $25). But along those lines, it sells items that a typical dollar tree would never consider, like 'disposable' electronics and workout equipment. And they are famous for selling different types of sports balls, with even a small place to test it out. Other dedicated sections included: pet equipment and toys, travel size accessories, unique toys, board games, stuffed animals, smart phone accessories, unique candy (freeze dried). They do have a self-checkout section, but all of the stations were closed...not sure if because it wasn't so busy or if the clientele makes it difficult to use.

Whoa. I thankfully drank the 16 oz of olive oil in 15 minutes. Day 1 was HARD. I definitely felt sick as my body was working the oil through and doing its thing. Day 2-5 were challenging but I stuck to the raw fruits and veggie diet + spring water. Day 6-7 were my easiest days! I'm on my last day as I type this review. I'm proud of myself for making it through. It was definitely a challenge for me but this was a good reset for my system. My skin is glowing, bloat gone, digestive system is MOVING, I feel lighter. I remained active (yoga, walk, weight lighting) during this cleanse so by 3pm I felt ready for a nap daily due to the low calorie intake but nonetheless I didn't feel dizzy. Hot yoga felt amazing on this cleanse! If you're looking for a cleanse, check this out.

Renee, the owner, was very helpful and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived. She told me she didn't carry African net sponges as they contain plastic and are not good to use for your body, so she suggested the agave wash cloth instead. I took my time to look around the shop too and there were so many goods that I got a bit overwhelmed so I'll have to come back to peruse those more sometime :) Renee was very friendly, kind, helpful, and awesome. Her energy is warm but strong like a fire. She took the time to talk to me about her shop that she's had for over 30 years now, asked me for my name, and hoped that she'd see me again -- which she definitely will be! Lots of books, tote bags, bracelets, incense, hair products, and much more. She told me she tries to host events for the community too, apparently I just missed a sound bath that they hosted this past weekend. I'd definitely recommend stopping by and I will most certainly be back again!!

The reason why - and I have to point this out because the store is named Rooted - is most of the neon pothos did not look too healthy aside from one plant in a 6" pot (larger than what I was looking for). In fact, many of the plants were rather middling, with soil looking dry when most inventory are tropical houseplants. Was it the heat at the time I visited or negligence? I'm not sure, but even with seemingly fair prices as plant shops go (4" philodendron Brazil was $12), it's harder to buy a plant that looks sickly. In addition to plants, Rooted also carries housewares and refills for shampoo, body wash, etc. I can't speak to the prices because I have a similar store within walking distance that I typically bring my dispensers to.

However, when I've gone in looking to purchase something specific, it hasn't been available -- even when I returned a week or two later. Yes, it's something they sell in store normally. The staff is generally helpful, though I did have an awkward experience at checkout. When I mentioned the weight of an item, the staff member questioned the accuracy several times. I wasn't sure if she was new or if there was some hesitation in trusting the information I provided. She said she was "just trying to make sure it was right," but it felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable. It might make more sense for staff to weigh items themselves to avoid situations like this. Overall, it's a pleasant store, but the inconsistent availability and that checkout experience make me unsure if I'll return.

This place has a lot of potential to be great. It depends on the type of clientele you attract. Since you are in the downtown area, you attract people from San Pedro, Los Angeles and Orange County. Since it is catered mostly to the tourist that is visiting the aquarium of the pacific Weekdays are solid, you will find parking with no problem. Overall, I come here once in awhile pending on the event. Great place to watch a move or chill by the coast. Many restaurants nearby is a plus!

Not sure what the purpose of the outlet name is for as I think the only outlet was Gap. I could be wrong with the other stores. With any retail area, things come and go so having a storefront survive is amazing. It's a nice outdoor shopping experience with dining options to add to it. There's a few sit down dining places but nothing overly fancy. You have more of the bigger chain restaurants right across the street along the water and Shoreline Village. There's a movie theatre, a comedy center and a couple of decent amount of shops. Nothing over the top but your local shops like HM, Nike, Guess, Gap Outlet and a few others. It is a nice place to walk around and just see Long Beach. You're literally close to the convention center which is right across the street. Aquarium and the park is also across the street which a bridge is also use to cross over. The Marina Park, Shoreline Village are all a couple minutes walk from the pike. It's a cute little outdoor shopping area but nothing major. There's plenty of parking in the structure with some street parking along the strip.
