Although this Daiso is smaller than the ones I usually go to, I am surprised by the amount of things this store was able to hold in such a small amount of space. I was able to find everything I needed, from toiletries, kitchenware, to school supplies. As always, most of the items are $1.50, whereas a select amount is greater that such. And as usual, the staff are always nice, friendly, and helpful. The only thing i dislike about this location (as for the rest of LA) is the parking. read more

This was our 3rd stop to Daiso while in Cali, and our first time to this location before we head home back to Hawaii. We needed to just make some last minute pick ups before leaving tomorrow, and while usually a great experience, this one wasn't the greatest in customer service. The store was a good size and a decent selection. Let me just start with that. The layout was nice and spacious, lots of merchandise with multiple employees on the floor stocking. That is definitely needed in a store that carries something for everyone, from nose peels, Japanese snacks, office supplies, super cool kitchen gadgets, and bottled teas that are usually 3 times the price at other stores. Almost everything is $1.50 with the exception of a few things at $1.75 and some that were $1.00. I can easily walk out spending over $50.00 on the most random collection of items. I was definitely happy with the products that I got, but there were a few things we came for that they didn't have. I assume the selection varies from store to store, so it was okay. We still liked what we left with. The only negative part of this Daiso, was the customer service we received by the cashier that helped both my friend and myself. He was rude and less than respectful. We weren't greeted at the register, he rushed through the transaction and questioned me on the amount of cash that I handed him. I understand urgency and efficiency in completing a transaction to make the line go quickly, but there's a tactful way to do so, and then there isn't. He wasn't. It wasn't the fact that he rushed through the transaction that bothered me, it was the part that he questioned me, and when punching it into his register he mumbled under his breath that he didn't know what I was thinking. I was done, and I couldn't wait to leave at that moment. I didn't say anything, but I should have. I had reason to the amount that I had given, and instead of pointing it out, I let it go. While walking out, we realized we didn't get our ticket validated. When going back to the register, we were welcomed with attitude and inconvenience. Before we could even step away, he called the next customer. I'm sad to say that our experience was tainted by one employee, but I do want to mention other employees were pleasant, and one other gentlemen had asked if I needed help finding anything. All in all, I give 3 stars due to not having all the items we were looking for and the customer service by that male cashier that helped us. This location is still convenient if you need household items, cute gifts, and anything random. read more

So, before I begin writing the review that is probably going to break my heart a bit, let me just start off with two facts: 1. I don't like leaving negative reviews. It's only when the service/experience has been, well, negative beyond the point that I can reason it away that I hop on here and leave something other than a glowing review. 2. I love Daiso. I've been shopping with them since they opened their store up in San Francisco years ago and was over the moon that they started expanding into SoCal. That being said, this was my third time at this particular Daiso: first time was right in right out, second time was meh, third time was wtf. The store itself is just your average Daiso: bright lighting with everything immaculately organized and very easy to navigate. It's when I got to the register that I had a problem. When I walked up to the register the guy was super unfriendly. Deep frown on his face, blank stare, and bypassed my hello with "do you want to purchase a paper bag for 10 cents?" I told him "No thank you. I brought my own." I went to hand it to him but he just dropped it on top of the things I was buying and starting ringing me up. I came 19 cents short of their $10 credit card minimum so, not wanting to rock the boat, I added some candy to take it over. Now, in the time it took me to rummage in my purse to get my wallet and card out, swipe it, and for the register to print out the receipt for me to sign, this guy could have easily bagged my now-purchased items. It wasn't that much stuff and the bag I'd brought was huge. Really, it would have been a no brainer to just toss stuff in there, like dropping a tennis ball into a basketball hoop from three inches directly above. Instead, he kept staring off to the side and drumming his fingers impatiently. And when he gave me the receipt to sign, he cleared a space on the counter not by bagging the items but by shoving them to the side in a huge messy heap. After I signed, I handed him back the receipt and he took it and stood there. I kind of paused, not sure what to do. Was he one of those people who liked to bag things at the end? Nope. While the unfortunate people in the slowly growing line waited for me to find my shopping bag at the bottom of the pile he'd created, open it, and hastily shove everything inside, he looked at the ceiling and tapped his foot at me. And when I tried to say "Thank you, have a nice day" he interrupted me with "Next!" Now, I don't know where he was coming from. Maybe he was having a bad day? Not that I think it's any kind of excuse for bad service (I've worked in some terrible retail positions and have never once lost it at customers, even on Black Friday with a line out the door and wrapped around the corner of customers who expected me to magically pull some loooooooong sold out doorbuster out of thin air especially for them). But he was the best dressed employee there, wearing collared shirt and slacks to everyone else's store t-shirts. If he's not the manager, then he should stop wearing clothes that make him look like one. And if he is, he should get a major attitude check FAST. It's one thing to get attitude from an employee. Most retail positions are filled by kids (which this guy was most definitely not), and I try not to hold it against them for having bad moments. But it's a whole different issue to get attitude from the manager, especially when I was doing my best to match his rude behavior with politeness. If it wasn't for the fact that this store is literally two blocks from where I live, I would never come here again. read more

This place is more or less like a dollar tree with cute (but cheap aka not best quality) Japanese stuff. Would def recommend that you drop by and check it out. There are face masks, cute bento boxes, Japanese makeup application stuffs etc. Nothing super awing or jaw dropping but still a solid place to visit n pick up some cheap cute Japanese goods! read more

Great stores with variety of Japanese goodies. One of my favorite Daiso locations. They located in a shopping mall on a one-way street, if your not familiar with the area it can take a while to spot it. They validate your parking ticket as well but I normally would park in front paying 50cents for 1hr parking =) read more

This place is cool. They have random stuff that you don't need but end up buying anyway. They also validate parking!

The store just an average, no surprise store. But the parking building has a horrible management or owner or policy change, they are cheating by no longer putting the parking fee & validation notice next to entrance ticket machine, the payment booth clocking is not same as the entrance ticket machine clocking. You only notice the "validation with stamp for 1 hr. at the payment booth but not anywhere else even in store, supermarket etc., you end up paying $3.50 parking fee if you don't or forgot to get the store stamp. Conclusion, if I can find store at different locations, if I can find supermarket at a better price with better parking, if I can find restaurant somewhere else with better service, why bother come to this shopping mall dealing with cheating parking time or validation? read more

I always love visiting daiso store its like going inside a candy store and getting all excited except you get to see alot of cute stuff for the house and other things..i usually go to the one in koreatown but its crazy traffic to go there even if its not rush hr. So xcited to know that they opened one in little tokyo which is sooo close to the house,came here couple days ago to buy some halloween stuff for my baby bear this location is big and has more cute stuff and while making my baby fit some stuff one daiso employee approached me said hi and told me the headband shes trying on looks cute and so i bought it hehehe but overall the staff are sooo nice,smiling and friendly and i think ill be a regular customer at this location. read more

Charge 10 cents per paper bag, lots of varieties of items, friendly employees that helps you when you ask, & right next to other stores in the same plaza (supermarket, frozen yogurt, pottery, pho, bowling, KBBQ, etc.)! read more

Absolutely love this store! Better than a 99 cent Store, though merchandise here costs $1.50 or more on selected items. Here are some pros and cons I composed during my many visits. If you have your two American dollars you can get some really cool stuff, although with the exchange rate it was closer to $3 so a lot of the things I passed up on, however, I always love browsing in stores like this. I came here on a past trip with one of my girlfriends who needed kwaii stuff for her kitchen. The layout is not as organized as the one in Vancouver, however, organized enough by their standards. Customer service was neutral. There is lots of room between isles, however, the stock to space ratio was off balance. The arts and crafts section is huge. Lets just say I give 10% of my paycheck to them, I'm always there. The only thing I don't like is that they are constantly bringing down and rearranging merchandise at this store. Almost like they are always doing inventory. It looks messy sometimes but it doesn't stop me from going. read more

This is another fantastic Daiso of Southern California - and its location in Little Tokyo just adds to its overall ambience. I always end up spending way too much time and money here than I intend to because Daiso is just too much fun and the items are so bargain. Shopping tip: Always stop at Daiso first and buy items from there (especially cosmetics, tissues papers, all household sundries, snacks) because those items are likely cheaper in Daiso than in the nearby grocery store or any other stores in the same plaza building. read more

While touring the area before going to the art walk I passed by the little Tokyo Galleria. Don't let the rough outside aspect of the mall intimidate you, this is a nice mall. Inside the mall I discovered this Daiso store that is the Japanese version of the 99c store or Dollar tree. Except here everything is $1.50. Unlike other discount stores the place is shiny, spacious, very colorful, well arranged and overall very inviting. It offers a little of everything, ranging from stationary, kitchen stuff, to Japanese snacks. The quality seems a little better than at other similar stores too. I entered just to have a look and ended up leaving with 10 items. The store is a mecca for Asian people mainly, but also manga-fans. You won't feel out of place there even if you are not Asian, interestingly enough the guy at the cash register was a white guy a sexy european accent! I will come again! read more

I still suffer from the 99 Cent Store Syndrome every time I shop here - you start piling your cart with lots of stuff that is just $1.50 each and at the register suddenly realize that your purchases amount to $100.00. Omg I absolutely LOVE this store!! It's AMAZING!! Full of fun stuff at cheap prices!! I go here ALL THE TIME!! UNFORTUNATELY the last time I was there I was treated extremely badly by a very unpleasant employee. She was extremely rude and acted very annoyed when asked a simple question. After being a total killjoy the ENTIRE time that she was ringing up my purchase I put the basket I had my things in off the counter w the intention of putting it back where I got it and she says to me "gimmie that basket!" I jus looked at her and as I handed it to her I said "I was gonna put it away for u" and she snatched it out of my hand so hard it fell on the counter! She even threw my credit card back at me after she swiped it thru!! WTF?! U work in CUSTOMER SERVICE!! U would think that u would know how to treat people KAREN!! (I made sure to get her name after that) but who knows maybe she lied about it so I'll just say that she's NOT Japanese shes a Caucasian lady w a very bad attitude and even worse acne! If u ever go here try to avoid her or better yet jus avoid this location altogether and try the one in Torrance, they r friendly there. read more

Wow just like Daiso in Los Angeles but more interesting stuff. A must visit to see what they sell here. Just be aware the you will be climbing 4,5 flights of stairs. I suggest starting at the top and work your way down. read more

love coming to this store, could come in expecting to just look around and end up spending $30 or more. always clean when I go and staff is always friendly. just beware that if you go on a weekend I.e. Saturday go before 8pm because then parking is hard to find due to the manna kbbq and other restaurants there but usually there's at least one spot available or cars always coming and going. read more
