The store itself is well put together and well organized like all other locations. The major complaint I have is based on the unprofessionalism of two Latino employees hired to deliver great costumer service, but obviously fail to do so. I'm assuming the woman at the cash wrap was some sort of supervisor or manager since she wasn't wearing the usual red uniform. And the other was a male with piercings. What bothered me most was that she was loudly and very clearly speaking to an employee about other customers and how it annoyed them that people didn't purchase bags for $.10 claiming that they wouldn't end up broke by spending a dime on a bag. Felt really disrespectful of them to be talking like that about customers while people were shopping and listening to them bickering! When I got to the cash wrap, an asian family was purchasing and asked to pay $0.03 cash and the rest in credit. The person helping her (who I'm assuming was supervisor or manager) laughed and declined her request and insisted she paid the full amount in her credit card. Who does that? Why work in customer service if you know you're going to be terrible at it? By the time it was my turn to pay, I certainly gave her attitude in a subtle, but straight forward way, got my things and left. This is one of the bigger daiso in LA. They have more items than some of the other one like sawtelle (which barely has anything). Sometimes when they put out new items they are at a better price when they first come out. It seems like they kinda test the markets here and see if an item is a hit or miss with the shoppers. Just because you're sick and tired of standing at the register you can NOT push the buttons when the customers are supposed to confirm on the debit card. It is OUR card and WE the customer are the ones to confirm and finish the transaction. I've had this problem at this location TOO MANY times. read more

Besides the plastic containers and occasional knick-knacks that you find interesting, I don't see it as anything better than the Marukai 99 cents stores or even the American 99 stores. Everything is $1.50 unless marked with a higher price and they have so many cute little trinkets, stationary, cookware, bowls, and even snacks. I love going here to buy their bowls and kitchenware, and their gift wrapping options can't be beat. Everything is so cute. The people working here are also very friendly as well. If you need to go to a Daiso, go to this one. Some Daiso's don't have such a wide selection. Also, if you are planning on paying with credit card they have a $10 minimum. read more

On December 6th, this past Saturday, I traveled by bus with my cousins to Little Tokyo to celebrate my recent birthday. I entered the Tokyo Galleria mall in search for a bathroom instead my cousins and I encountered new shops open on the bottom floor. One of these shops happened to be a very white and blinding store called Daiso Japan. I passed it and continued on to the second floor only to find the bathrooms there under maintenance. I decided to then check out this "Daiso Japan" store. To my surprise it was not a candy store i mistook it to be. The front portion of the gigantic store was filled with all sorts of sweets from Japan. The rest of the store was arranged with all sorts of useful contraptions. The merchandise ranged from key-chained glasses cleaners to miniature vacuum lint cleaners for clothing. I was in love with this store. My eyes trailed off from aisle to aisle never ceasing to rest. The best part of the store were the signs posted throughout the store stating that all merchandise is one dollar and fifty cents unless priced with a tag. The only thing I regret was not purchasing more items. I purchased a lock, a lighter for my incense, a gel ink pen, a paper tray, and a hunting cap for only nine dollars. The quality of the products and the neatly well kept floor is what separates this handy store from a dollar tree or any other low priced brick and mortar. read more

I love this Daiso! Not only is it super spacious (some Daiso locations are tiny and you can barely make it through the isles) but it also has a wide selection! Every time I have shopped there the staff has been super nice and super helpful. Also I feel like this Diaso is really helping spruce up this mall that previously seemed very empty. Just when you thought you've been there enough times to know their exact inventory...you're pleasantly surprised to see something you've never ever seen there before during recurring visits. And if you are like me, there's always going to be something there you will need. I like their stuff, but my only complaint is that this place has very clear rules that they continue to DRILL into the patron's mind nonstop. No $50 or $100 dollar bills accepted, no credit cards accepted unless you have a minimum of $10 purchase. Repeated "friendly" reminders that for YOUR safety, they have cameras operating to watch you constantly. I was here for maybe half an hour and heard that reminder at least twice. Daiso has brought new life to the Little Tokyo Mall! When I walk in, I'm immediately overwhelmed because I want to buy everything! Imagine a dollar store ($1.50 store) where everything is cute and Japanese, that's Daiso! Everything you need and and everything you don't need is sold here, so be careful! I got a few very adorable valentine boxes and mini cello bags. The gift wrapping and gift bags are kawaii! I got some kleenex packs and cough drops. I also got a maneki neko and daruma for my room. Love this Daiso! It's in the middle of Little Tokyo so it's busy. Parked in the garage since they validate parking. So happy that they closed at 9pm on a Sunday! Made it in just before closing time. This Daiso is sooo big. There's so many items and they're mostly priced at $1.50. Bought a lot of random, little cute things for the house, for the kids, for myself... Loved the makeup section, the organizing section, the kitchen section... basically all of it! I wish there was a Daiso near me but unfortunately there's not so I use this as my excuse to go a little crazy and buy whatever I want when I'm here. I normally go to the daiso in Korea town but in a quick visit I decided to come to this one instead. It's a lot bigger than the one in Madang palace. This store has everything! Located inside the little tokyo mall, a couple of blocks from Japan Village we parked our car in between and walked over. They do offer free 2 hr parking which we did not utilize. I made it my goal to visit at least Daiso at least once on my trip to the west coast and I'm glad I did. I came home packing kitchen gadgets, tons of $1.50 face masks and makeup and other cute stuff I found while I was there. My only disappointment is that they didn't have a lot of snack items in stock. Some of thee worst customer service I've ever had. They didn't seem to care that they messed up at the register. Had me waiting for over 20 mins to give me a lame excuses ask to how they don't know how the cashier lost my validation ticket. Now I have spent 12 $ inside the store and I have to pay 20$ to get my car out the parking for a mistake that they made. I'm so addicted to Daiso! This place is the bomb! All the packaging is super cute and there are so many clever items than you ever thought you needed! It's all a $1.50 unless marked otherwise, mostly a few $1 or $3 items occasionally. Lots of nifty kitchen/dishware and office/art supplies. There are some labels in the dish-ware section warning about California and chemicals that may cause cancer though, if that's a concern for anyone. This Daiso is a averaged size and the walk from main downtown Little Tokyo isn't too bad. I was in a Daiso in SanFran Japantown and that was like a claustrophobic experience, tiny aisles and avg wait times of 15 to 20mins to check out cuz it was so BUSY! Daiso is one of my favorite stores and it was my first time coming to the one in little tokyo, its a bit smaller than my go-to in Gardena, but still had a lot of different things then the one around me. They do have a lot of cold beverages and a nice selection of plates. read more
