I'm really surprised at the negative comments in the other reviews because both their customer relations and their shipping have been flawless. We received a strawberry cake and a carrot cake from Daisy Cakes last week. I cannot say enough good things about these cakes. They are the tastiest cakes I have ever eaten. My wife loves them too. We have shared them with co-workers at our family business and everyone agrees these cakes are top-notch! The packaging is attractive and I can imagine these would make the perfect gift for a birthday or other important event. We are planning to order more Daisy Cakes in the future! After seeing SharkTank, we ordered two cakes. They mixed up our order and it took four phone calls and two emails to finally straighten it out - totally unprofessional customer service. Well, the cakes finally arrive and are terrible. They are either going in the garbage or back to DaisyCakes if they want them. They are both dry and taste like they were baked and frozen a long time ago. One guest said the lemon cake tasted like corn bread with cream cheese on it. read more

I received a coconut cake for valentines day. We had dinner guest we wanted to serve it too. However, it was one of the worse cakes we have ever eaten - it was so dry and the frosting was so sweet. We really should have sent it back. Sometimes quantity replaces quality as I am sure that is not the cake that was served on Shark Tank. PITIFUL even if it cost $10 instead of $60. read more

Had no problem ordering and receiving the 2 cakes (carrot and jilly vanilly). Packaging was superior. I ordered them after watching the shark tank segment. Served them both for my Mom's 87th birthday party. They looked yummy, but everyone left at least 90 percent on their plates. Wish I had been able to taste first. Way too sweet. So much icing, not much cake, grainy cake texture. Ended up discarding most of it. Huge waste of money. You sharks wouldn't know a good cake if it bit you in the tushy. Love the tins they ship in though. Will use them for my homemade holiday cookies. read more

I saw Daisy Cakes on Shark Tank and I thought it would be the perfect gift to get my boyfriend for his birthday. I called months in advance and asked what was a good timeline to order the cake. I was told the sooner the better they could prepare. So I ordered a cake in July 2011 that I wanted to be delievered January 2012. They sent the cake to my boyfriend in July with Happy Birthday message and a note to be sent in January 2012. I called about this and they seemed unsympathetic. After cotacting the better business bureau of SC they agreed to send another cake on the correct date. Well that date has come and gone with no cake. I have again contacted the better business bureau and Daisy Cakes. The cake was delicious but their customer service is the worst I've ever seen. So not worth the money!! read more

I have ordered both the lemon and coconut cakes and both were absolutely delicious. Cakes arrived right on time, and I had confirmation from the company, both that the order was received and when the order was shipped. I am truly surprised at the negative reviews. There are a few where no cake arrived. I wonder why these people didn't follow up with the company to be sure order was received. We all have technical issues occasionally... I do know that some people will not give this company a try based on a couple of negative reviews... I will not hesitate to order again. This is pricey, but well worth it for special occasions. It was intriguing to our guests that the company was featured on Shark Tank. That is the only way I knew about it, as we are in PA. I do wish the sampler was available, or perhaps cupcakes so we could try all flavors! read more

I was a returning customer because I had ordered the carrot cake which was moist & delicious with the best frosting I had ever tasted. The next cake I ordered was the sampler with different flavors which was also delicious. I was so happy with them that even though it was expensive I later ordered the peach which was a monthly special. I was very shocked at the dryness and the peach filling was almost non-existent. In spite of the disappointment I decided to order the red velvet and was very disappointed in how dry the cake was and the frosting was too sweet. Since I had good luck with the carrot cake I decided to order another one for a special occasion. I opened it right away to thaw and there was a lot of condensation on the frosting which gave it a wet & somewhat slimy texture. The cake itself was very dry, the frosting was not the same as with the 1st carrot cake I ordered, it was much sweeter with barely any cream cheese flavor. What has happened to the great quality that I experienced with my first few orders? I don't mind spending the money if I can count on the same quality I had with my first few orders but for some reason the quality has gone downhill and I'm afraid to take a chance. Needless to say, when I want a cake I just buy from my local supermarket. It's much cheaper and I know the quality will be good. read more

glancing over the previous reviews, i'm guessing daisycakes just got too big too fast, and didn't handle it well . . . but as for my experience, it was exemplary. they HAVE learned from any "mistakes" they may have made earlier on. first of all, my daughter had a lemon cake sent to my husband and me in june. it arrived well packaged, providing lots of fun excitement for the entire family for the next several days. BUT, unfortunately, we all agreed that although the cream cheese frosting and lemon filling were wonderful, the cake itself was not only "not good" but was actually icky. of course we didn't tell our daughter, but shortly thereafter, she asked specifically about it-was it delicious enough that she should send them whenever a mailorder gift was called for . . . ? well at that point, we told her exactly what i just described above. she then felt terrible, and we had to try to convince her that the whole experience as a whole was definitely worth the cost, and was just so much fun, etc. etc. later that day, i just felt so bad that i had made HER feel badly, so i ordered her and her husband a carrot cake (she had mentioned that she saw on shark tank that it was awesome). when theirs arrived, they had a blast unwrapping and thawing it, then when they finally started eating it, they said it was absolutely delicious. they had my husband and me over for dessert so we could try it for ourselves, and much to our surprise, it truly was unbelievably undeniably delicious on every possible level. so-i was happy that it turned out this way for them, but this made it seem that much stranger that ours was yucky. so . . . i sucked it up and made a call to daisycakes and explained the whole situation to them. without even a second thought, they apologized profusely, and insisted on sending me another cake and some lemon curd, all free of charge. they sent me the red velvet cake, since i had said how much i loved their cream cheese frosting. when the cake arrived only 3 days later, they had included FOUR containers of the delectable lemon curd along with the red velvet cake, which turned out to be probably the best cake i have ever had in my entire life. reinforcing that the first cake we had received was definitely defective in some way. bottom line: we absolutely will be sending daisycakes to friends and relatives any time in the future for special events and/or holidays. love the product, and love the company!!! read more

I was very excited to try Daisy Cakes after seeing them on Shark Tank as I love a good cake. I was disappointed that the cake cost so much to ship, I live in NJ, so i hesitated in buying it. I then learned that Daisy Cakes was going to be on QVC and the shipping would only be $5.00. So, I bought the Red Velvet Cake. It came as promised delivered in a styrofoam container packed with dry ice (necessary due to the cream cheese icing I assume). The cake was in an adorable tin which I'll have around for quite some time. Now, here comes the really disappointing part. The cake is wrapped with a cellophane which you are instructed to remove before the cake thaws. When doing so the icing is still hard and there are jagged lines all over it. Once the icing thaws you have to sort of re-ice to get the cake to look pretty. The cake is just okay....... The icing is very sweet, the cake was not moist, particularly the bottom layer and was somewhat grainy. It's not the worst cake I've had nor is it the best. For $50, including shipping, I was hoping for a better experience. To be fair, I suppose the cake loses something in the shipping and would probably taste much better if it was eaten soon after it is made while the ingredients are very fresh. So, if I am ever in S.C. I might try it again. However, I think I'll stick to my New Jersey bakeries for something sweet and tasty. read more

I ordered a cake because I am a Shark Tank watcher but also because I wanted to buy one for a friend who is a cake snob. So I thought I would test it first. I ordered on a Wednesday and the cake came on a Tuesday (as the website said). We let the cakes defrost (the sampler). We each tried a small piece and thought that they were good to pretty good. Put the cake on a glass cake plate with glass cover as I have for many other cakes. Next day came home to find my house covered with fruit flies. I had no food or fruit out. I didn't understand where they were coming from until my son said "Mom look at the cake plate." I thought they were swarming all over the glass dome but there were thousands of them inside the dome. It could have only come from the cake. We all stood there a little nauseated because we had each had a piece the night before. Prior to that I would have given 3 to 4 stars but can't say I would ever order there again. read more

I've been wanting to try these cakes ever since seeing them on Shark Tank. I finally decided to splurge and pay the price for two of these cakes for a special occasion. I got both the carrot cake and the coconut cake. Once thawed out, unfortunately each cake was rather dry although the carrot cake was not as dry as the coconut. The frosting is way too sweet and there's too much of it - because of so many layers with frosting in between each one, there is just too much frosting. It inundates the cake and makes it icky sweet. With the cake being dry, this all makes for an overall unpleasant taste experience. I'm a real foodie and really was looking forward to the Daisy Cakes, hoping to impress my dinner guests. Not only was I disappointed but my husband, my sister and our other guests were all underwhelmed. To be honest, I think that once you freeze a cake then thaw it out, it can't help but get dried out in the process. That's one problem, but maybe there's a solution out there. Cutting down on the amount of frosting and making it a little less sweet might help as well. read more

I saw them on Shark Tank and was anxious to order. I love cake and even the judges raved about their quality. I tried to order one. I was told it would take weeks and could only be shipped out certain days. Umm...that's not easy to plan for. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because maybe they were innundated with orders and couldn't catch up. Six months later, same deal. A year later, same deal. I've finally accepted that their business model sucks. Maybe she does have a wonderful product on her hands and a really high end, quality cake. But if your distribution is this awful, who cares? You can have the best product on the planet but without a reliable delivery method, it makes no difference. And this isn't something you'd buy just to have it shipped to you whenever and then eat it. Most people aren't shelling out $40+ for a cake to just eat any random old night (that's what you do with Oreo's). Most people will order this cake for a special occasion - so a solid delivery date is needed. If they want to succeed, they're going to have to hire staff up the wazoo and put the needs of customers first. read more

I saw Kim on shark tank and her cakes looked wonderful, So decided to order one for a special party at my home. I check out the web site and then placed my order by phone. I also decided since this was a new company to order it ahead of time and then put the cake in the freezer until I needed it. That turned out to be the wise thing to do as it was one week late getting here. I still give the cake 5 stars, ordered a Lemon cake and it was so good everyone raved on it. If it were not quite so expensive I might order again. One thing though I can tell by the comments that this company is not organized and needs a little help in that department as my credit card never got charged for this cake until finally I called them 4months later to let them know this had happened. I do believe the lady I talked to didn't have a clue what she was doing. Come on Kim hire some people who know how to take care of your business end of this company or you will eventually not have a business. I gave the 5 stars only because the cake really is delicious but the help at the company is less than 2 stars. Sooo it is your decision as to ordering from them or not, I just make it a practice to order soon enough when ordering by phone or website. Use a credit card to pay for it and you can cancel the charge if you do not get your merchandise. Always a wise way to go. read more

My husband and I also saw Daisy Cakes on Shark Tank, and my cake-loving husband decided he would like to try one for his birthday. So, I ordered him is favorite, Coconut Cake. First, the cake did not arrive in the timeframe indicated on the website. The website showed 1 day from SC to MD, but it took two days, and therefore did not arrive on his birthday as expected. Secondly, the cake cost $48 and shipping was $24!! Ridiculously high shipping cost. Last, but certainly not least, the cake was terrible. We thawed the cake according to the directions and anxiously cut into it. The consistency was dry, heavy and not at all like what I think a cake should be (more of a heavy pound cake consistency). The cake was very dry, ridiculously sweet, and almost the worse cake we have ever had. We love cake, and we actually threw it away after each only having one piece, which never happens in our house. For a third of the price I could have done far better at a local bakery. The best part of the cake was the cute tin it arrived in. What a disappointment. read more
