Definitely agree that when you walk in there is no bakery smell at all. I got an orange cupcake (a little pricey for the size) and it was stale. Was not made that day and if it was it was not good. The frosting was a bit much on top too. I had been here one other time and I thought I'd give it another chance. We bought 6 cupcakes that time and it was the same way. Thought it may have just been a off day or I had got a day old ones. Needless to say it's a shame it didn't live up to all the past reviews. I won't be going back for a 3rd time that's for sure. ( The person working I assumed was the owner when asked if she sold day old said no, so I guess this is just the way her cupcakes taste) Not a bakery I'd recommend. Loved the wedding cake they made for my daughter's wedding. It was a long distance order and they didn't disappoint! Delicious!!

Not a fan of this place. Been here a couple of times so far and both times I got a cupcake to try. I was told they were just freshly baked. When I got the first one I thought it was just a fluke thing that it was not fresh. It was stale and old tasting to me. The 2nd time I thought I'd try again. That was it! I would not try again! Very crumbly and not soft at all. They aren't too cheap either so I was not happy spending the money and it not being good again. When you walk in I expected it to smell like a bakery and there was no smell. Seemed odd to me. All the reviews I read are old . Must have been good at one time. read more

What a gem of a bakery for the area! Cupcakes galore- however we opted for a cinnamon roll and pumpkin cream cheese swirl muffins. Delicious. Only one 2-seat cafe table inside so must be more of a to-go place, however the coffee was good and on a Monday morning the place smelled heavenly. read more

A fantastic local business that has out of this world bread, desserts, organically grown produce including eggs. They have farm raised goat, pig that are processed locally. I have eaten the goat meat which is very lean and not at all gamely. The pork sausage is also delicious. Ruthie and Jon are really friendly. They are also have a booth at the Forest City farmers market. read more

Best bakery west of Charlotte. Everything is made fresh; breads, cakes, etc as well as farm grown meat products. They even do custom order goods. Ruthie and Jon, the owners are personable and friendly. I wish they would open in Forest City! read more

Love these guys and love how they have a little shop for their sweets. Also love how their at the local farmers market where we get our eggs, and some meats. You can taste the freshness in the food and I love that. I would stop here any time and even put in an order for some sweets for any event. read more

Worth a trip to Bostic! Really, drive down to Bostic - make sure they're open first - and you won't be disappointed. I love bread and I can stay on any diet that has bread in it. Ruthie's bread is so delicious that you don't have to put anything on it to enjoy it, I mean it is so good I eat it plain. Now, just having spoken of diets I'm going to cut to dessert. Their baked goods are worth drooling over. I've stopped many times for a treat and everything has always been spot on. I know you want them to be in Forest City, but guys it's a short and trip to their shop by the railroad tracks in Bostic. Come on out and get something special. You'll be glad you did. read more

Fantastic bake shop and owned by wonderful people. Their freshly baked goods are delicious and beautiful to look at. I have been a customer since this adorable little place opened and have always been amazed how delicious every thing is. I feel like I am visiting with friends as I am purchasing my little goodies to bring and share at home. Their support of local farmers and local businesses is amazing. I have also purchased their shrimp,lamb, sausage and fish when available. When purchasing their delicious assortments of homemade breads I can't be trusted to getting it home intact.It is half eaten upon delivery. I have to say, why bake anymore when I can run up the road and get homemade better than mine.
