I received a quote but it seemed really high so I called several other places to shop around. Good thing I did bc the entire experience was excellent. I called Terry in the AM, he came by a hour or so later, gave me a great quote (~2000 less) and was able to install it the next day. The whole process was so easy and now I get to sit in my cool living room and write this review. Called to have a plumber come check on a leak in our garage. I assumed it was the water heater,…read morebecause it was the only thing in the garage. The plumber didn't look at anything other than the water heater and stated it needs to be replaced. He quoted a price that made me swear immediately. I apologized as it was out of character, he said it was ok, but the water heater needed to be replaced and it was up to me. I told him if it needs to, I don't have any options, do what he needs to. As he was removing the water heater, I pointed out the areas there was water and I didn't think it came from the water heater as the water heater would have been spraying water in order to get that far. The plumber stated he has been doing this for over 20 years and he knows what he is doing. After the water heater was removed, he said it needed to drain. He left and came back about a hour later, the water heater dripped really slowly the entire time he was gone. I mentioned that if there was a hole in the water heater, wouldn't air go through the hole and help the water drain from the spigot faster. He stated that I didn't understand the science of it and that the hole closes when disconnected from the water because there is no longer presser. He completed the replacement and left. I swept out all the water from the garage and didn't think much of it. I checked on the garage the next day and the garage was full of water again. I called Steve's Plumbing and the same guy came out. He said that he needed to do an inspection of the house to find out where the leak was coming from, he said before he did, it would cost so much per hour to look for the leak. I told that's what he supposed to have done before, but he didn't look at anything other than the water heater and stated it needed to be replaced. He said it was my fault and that he didn't look for a leak because it was the water heater, I reminded him that I said their is leak in the garage which we needed him to look at and the only thing directly connected to water was the water heater. He repeated it was his fault, it was mine. I asked him to leave and stated at me and refused. Only after telling him he needed to leave the property or I would call the police because he wasn't welcomed, he finally left. I called another company, it turns out there was a pipe broke in the wall. The plumber explained all things Steve's Plumbing should have done to ensure the issue was corrected, more specially, checking the water pressure before work started and checking the water pressure when the job was complete to ensure the issue had been resolved. They also explained that we paid way too much replacing a water heater (which didn't need to be replaced). I'll never use Steve's Plumbing again.

EXPERIENCE: I just so happen to check on the filters on the bigger and older of the two units and was shocked to see that they hadn't been changed in years as they we either sticky, torn or simply obliterated. Luckily they stocked the filters and changed them ASAP during the service. We were told that the unit had some life left in it but was pretty rusted inside of the indoor unit as I heard the tech scraping and prodding away at something. Total bill for the two was a whopping $580 and change. I've never paid that much for the central unit in our other home! Wowzers. SERVICE: They did do a no call/no show on us prior to this visit. I hear the a/c business on Maui is good, especially with the blazing summer we're currently having, so lost business is really no loss to them. Another phone call brought a tech over in a few days, who was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Good work but I'm not sure if we'll use them again due to pricing.
