Out on our bike one day we decided to stop in here for a glass of tea and decided to stay and eat. We were so glad we did, the food was excellent. It is a little small inside but who cares when the food is excellent. The burgers were amazing as they were homemade pattys grilled to perfection. The staff was very friendly, we met the owner on our way out. You could tell she never has met a stranger as she hugged us on the way out. This place has a nice small town diner feel to it. There is a nice variety of food. None of their food is "excellent", but all of their food is "good". The salad bar is pretty basic, but the staff is all very friendly. Sometimes the service can feel a little slow, but it's not a restaurant that you go to to eat in a hurry. I've only had a chance to sample on of their desserts (the blackberry cobbler) and it was pretty good. They have quite a few other desserts to choose from as well. read more

Nice little diner! Server was very nice and attentive. I was visiting and my family brought me - they come here all the time. I had the polish sausage - it was juicy and tasty! I also had the salad bar and steamed broccoli. The broccoli was good - perfectly cooked - bright green and tender but not mushy. The salad bar is small but nice variety. I really liked the ranch - and I am picky! Such a large variety of sides and they all sounded good I had a hard time choosing! My brother had the chopped brisket and fried okra with salad bar - all very good as well. The brisket had a good smoke flavor and we liked the barbecue sauce - has a very slight kick. The rolls are large, light, and airy. Another order was the smoked turkey on croissant with homemade chips - she always gets this. Mom got the ribs with okra with her Senior plate - the ribs were large, tender, and meaty. Stepdad had the chicken strips with mashed potatoes and everyone agrees that is a top choice. The chicken is a large piece of white meat, not overly breaded and flavorful. He also had the coconut cream pie and really enjoyed it as well! read more

Last time I ordered, was told 30 minutes for to go. I waited 35, was still told to drive to the other side of building not the drive through. Sat on other side for 20 minutes . Called in and was told " I can't help you, I just answer the phone" then she hung up on me. Finally got some food one hour and 5 minutes after calling in order...no apologizing or even and excuse. Sometimes, you just want a perfect little local joint. I wanted to take my daughter to a nice little place, just the two of us. It was great to go in and see the quaint little restaurant. We were seated quickly. We placed our order and received our delicious food after a brief wait. One quick desert, and we were on our way. The tea was yummy, the chips were wonderful, and the rest was about what I'd have made at home. I'll surely be back, as I live just a few miles away! read more

Only sit down restaurant in Blanchard with a full menu. Food varies from very good to poor, mostly in the middle. Don't be in a hurry when you go there, everything is slow. Friendly and helpful wait staff. Take out is another story, frequent missing items and wrong order sent. Takeout was so inconsistent stopped ordering out. The problem is when your the only one in town you can get lackadaisical and the menu suffers. I was really looking forward to some "down home country cookin' but how can you have that as your motto when you can't even make one of the most basic and simplest southern foods: mashed potatoes? I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The chicken fried steak had good flavor but the breading was way beyond crunchy. It was so hard it would shatter like glass when I tried to cut it with a knife. Besides being too hard, there was way too much breading. I'd estimate half the weight of the CFS was the breading. Then there's the mashed potatoes. You've got to have mashed potatoes with a chicken fried steak but these were fake, and the portion was too small in proportion to the steak. There was one small scoop of instant potatoes and they had that weird after-taste you get from those freeze-dried flakes. The dinner roll was warm and fresh and that was the best part of the meal. The okra was ok for frozen pre-breaded okra. It's hard to mess that up. If they could fix the breading issue (too much and too hard) and use real mashed potatoes, I'd probably give this place four stars. read more

Food was excellent as usual. However our waitress messed up our ticket and was rude and wanted to argue the point rather than just adjust our ticket by $3.00. That would have been 10% of my ticket not counting the20% tip I left at the table. So for 3.00 you upset a loyal client. Not a particularly good business decision. Guess that's what you get when you let minimum wage employees make management decisions. Hope they spend the 3.00 wisely because it will be a while before I go back. read more

We absolutely love this place. We actually found out about it when we were eating at Cracker Barrel & started talking to a very outgoing couple seated across from us. They happened to be the owners. We're always looking for family owned restaurants to take our guest to when they come to town. We fell in love with the fabulous food & superb service. I tried to place a To-go order over the phone 2x and was told to "hold please" then was hung up on both times. I tired to call back and it was like the phone was off the hook. I drove to the location as I live down the street anyway and requested the order at the counter. as I was the only customer in line I spoke to the manager who was taking my order and explained what had happened over the phone thinking there was possibly a problem with their lines bc it was raining that day. the woman explained that she had hung up on a few people and that she couldn't hear them over the phone after saying hello several times. I explained that the person I spoke with had heard me over the phone and asked me to hold then hung up. ( I said all this without a hint of annoyance in my voice because I was still thinking there was something wrong with their phone and also bc I'm 27 and she's 60 something and I respect my elders). This obviously annoyed her and she said with a wave of her hand "well it wasn't me, can I take ur order? " Now I'm getting annoyed I say finally "I just wanted to make you aware because I'm not happy with the way Iv been treated." She said nothing to that. all I wanted was a simple "sorry about that" because now I had to park in the far parking lot and walk in the rain to place my order then walk back out in the pouring rain to wait 20 mins for my food then walk back in and back out with my food. Instead I got a snarky older woman being rude to me and not even saying thank you after I gave her my business. You'd think she would know better, I would expect this type of behavior from a high school kid not from a 60+ owner of the establishment. I will not be eating here again. The food is sub par, the menu is odd, the management is clueless and the hours suck. KT's smoke house is right down the street and I don't have to deal with this crap. read more

We pulled into the parking lot and there was an older brunette lady smoking out of a pipe in the parking lot. My wife and I rolled our eyes while we parked thinking it was someone from the apartments nearby the car was older with a strap across it to keep the hood down. It was packed which is typical so we waited in line for a minute were finally seated. Turned out our waitress was Tonya who turned out to be the pipe smoker in the parking lot. My wife and I looked at each other the waitress was talking but her sentences didn't quite make sense together. She said to order then she would interrupt us each time we tried and talk about her local warrant out she has out? I finally had to just rudely interrupt her she was chattering a million miles a minute. We had already given each other the look so I just told her firmly we'll take water and give us a second. Then we just got up and left. We hadn't noticed the other review on this waitress, wish we had, but thought we should post as well.
