My husband and I went to Italy for our honeymoon and this was supposed to be the pinnacle meal during our visit to Rome. I had worked closely with our travel consultant to book reservations at a special restaurant in Rome the night before our departure. Little did I know that I would end up in tears on the sidewalk after being treated so shabbily by the restaurant. We had the 815 reservation, which was the first reservation, and were promptly seated inside at a tucked away corner, while all of the outside tables remained open on a beautiful evening. When approached by the waiter (within seconds of sitting down), we felt pressured to make decisions on the menu. The waiter quickly suggested an appetizer and a primi pasta dish, and then snatched the menus from our hands. We never had the chance to order any if the secondi entrees. At that point, I had no doubt we were being rushed out the restaurant. I expressed disappointment and concern to the waitstaff, who did not acknowledge or respond. I could also clearly see how other people were being treated differently. After traveling for 2 weeks in Italy, I can honestly say this was the low point and strongly recommend considering a different restaurant. After all this drama, my husband and I felt we could get a better meal in South Philadelphia or with his cooking - the food was very underwhelming. If I could give it no stars, I would. Shocking as I've eaten in many high quality restaurants in Philadelphia, New York, and San Francisco. This restaurant is known for being part of the "jet set" scene, but please be wary - you likely will end up severely disappointed. Tomkat supposedly ate here, and look where they ended up :). read more
