This was, without question, the worst medical experience of my life. After my colonoscopy, I was in unbearable abdominal pain, couldn't sit, eat, or sleep, and was severely constipated--symptoms I had never had before. Two days later, desperate for help, I went to see Dr. Dalia Ibrahim. Instead of showing any concern or providing answers, she dismissed my symptoms entirely and sent me out of her office with zero support or follow-up. I left feeling abandoned and uncared for at a time when I was terrified something was seriously wrong. What followed was a month of severe pain, ER visits, and multiple GI consultations. No one could explain what happened, and I was left to suffer on my own until the symptoms slowly faded. This experience was traumatic enough that I will never undergo another colonoscopy again. Based on how I was treated, I absolutely cannot recommend Dr. Ibrahim. In my opinion, she was dismissive, unprofessional, and showed a shocking lack of compassion when I needed medical care the most. read more

But I just called her office to get my records and the woman who answered couldn't have been more rude. Like the kind of rude that impacts your whole day. Dr Ibrahim wanted to do a test so she sent the request form to their partner lab and gave me the physical order form. When I called the lab they said they never got anything. When I called the Dr's office they said they lost the request form (so they can't re-send it) and the PA who to contact is out for several days. I said I know it exists I have it in front of me and I cannot send it myself. Eventually, the office did send it to the lab but then insurance denied the test. There were more difficulties in that the lab refused to send the denial letter to the office. After I let the office know of this I'm assuming the office contacted the lab to get the denial letter and was working on re-submitting. Weeks go by and several more calls happen (as the lab keeps spamming "scheduling your test" even though insurance hasn't approve it yet). Finally, I call the office and they said they never got the insurance denial AND the Dr is no longer practicing... This whole time I assuming they were working on getting insurance approval... Also when a Dr. is no longer practicing you don't notify any of your existing patients...? Disappointment all around. Basically, we met the Dr and they / their office didn't have the competency to get the one test they wanted to do done. No prescriptions, no diagnosis, nothing. read more

I really liked my experience with Dr. Ibrahim. Lord knows colonoscopies are not a good time, but she made the process very easy and doable -- not"where near the horror stories you hear. Her prep protocol was way easier than the one my husband had, which is honestly the best reason to go with her. She's also very knowledgeable, warm and friendly. If you have to go to her office just know that the parking for her building (same place where she does the procedure) is horrendous. Not her fault. Leave a little extra time to park though. Awful experience. Dr Ibrahim spent maybe 10 minutes with me and just decided I had some infection without doing any tests. She rushed me out and didn't even ask if I had any questions. After having some concerning side effects to the antibiotics she prescribed, I tried contacting her about them. It was very hard to reach her and when she finally got back to me (by email to her receptionist) she gave little to no instruction. She said "maybe I should stop taking them"... The office also called to tell me they canceled my next appointment. However, they called a few days before that appointment was supposed to be to confirm. Very unorganized. Bad bed side manner. Never going back. I found a much better doctor who is very thorough. Annoyed I wasted my time. read more

Let's just clarify that using Dr. Rose Codini's name with this practice is drawing you in with smoke and mirrors. Dr. Codini has retired and her office NEVER treated patients in the manner that I and other Yelp posters have experienced. I am so disappointed in the communications from Dr. Ibrahim's office. The doctor is nice but my last visit for severe abdominal pain was two minutes w/ her before she put me back in the lobby so I could get a CT scan scheduled. She was sure I was having a flare but I said I didn't think so b/c I had windows of no pain - which never happens during a flare. And it was happening around the time of my period, every other month. Dr said she'd call in antibiotics but to not take them yet and walked away. I asked the receptionist when I should be taking them and she said "When you are in a lot of pain." I said I was in a lot of pain - that was the purpose of my visit! "Oh, just a minute, let me check w/ the dr." Receptionist came back and told me to start taking them. First avail CT scan was the next day. Carol called 2 days later w/ the results, "no diverticulitis and we will email you the results." So I asked what can do about about the pain? "We don't prescribe pain meds, we can refer you to a pain specialist." But what do I do now for the pain? "Dr will discuss w/ you at your follow up next Tues." That was it???!!! Severe abdominal pain w/ a CT scan and you want me to WAIT 5 MORE DAYS IN PAIN to discuss the next option???? After I hung up I thought, can I stop the antibiotics now b/c it's not a flare? I immediately emailed Carol (in the email w/ the results) and asked the question. Two days later and STILL NO RESPONSE. Horribly unprofessional. I read the report and could see that a "pelvic ultrasound was recommended" b/c I may have a cyst on an ovary. Who lets a patient see new information like this without a phone call??? I called my ob/gyn and they told me they couldn't schedule a procedure without a consult first, b/c the ultrasound order needed to come from Dr. Ibrahim. I was in tears b/c of the pain - not to mention the frustration of trying to interpret the report!!! Dr. Codini would have called me and she would have put in an order for the ultrasound immediately. If multiple patients are experiencing similar things, all including rude behavior from the office manager, one would hope the doctor would take action. They've lost me a patient b/c of this. read more

This is ridiculous! I booked two appointments one for a check in and the second one for a colonoscopy. I called to confirm both dates of appointments because I need to request PTO for them and was able to confirm we were on the same page with dates. I went in for my first appointment and before I was seen got the information for my next procedure and noticed that it said a different date on it a month out!!! They were trying to tell me that I was mistaken but the doctor is not even in that day. Two seconds before they are telling me I'm wrong.....I hear them arguing regarding paperwork of another patient and they obviously have an organization issue in the front office.... They wasted my morning very disappointed now I need to suffer in pain until I find a doctor..... I should've noticed the yelp reviews and avoided this place... I am very disappointed in her assistant Carol. She doesn't handle patients in a kind, cooperative manner as a matter of fact, she is very rude! I was optimistic when I originally saw Dr. Ibrahim and I have no complaints on how she did my endoscopy. However, when I needed an explanation on the findings, I was told conflicting information. She told my husband that I had a medium sized hiatal hernia but her report said it was small. When I asked what the size was, I was told it didn't matter. I am now considering surgery as I am having a lot of symptoms. I asked for advice on who to see and was told by Carol that anyone would be okay. I was told that Dr. Ibrahim had a long talk with a potential surgeon about my case. When I asked what was the summation of their discussion. She said talk the surgeon. I also asked for Carol to send my records to a potential surgeon. she never sent them and I had to take photos of my records and email them myself. I would have given only one star, however the endoscopy went well so I gave two, she really should get a better assistant, Carol is the most unhelpful assistant and is assisting in ruining Dr. Ibrahim's practice. read more

My husband went here because she took over Rose Codini's practice whom we really liked. She knew my husband had a deadline for surgery and he was in big abdominal pain. She made him go have a CT scan. She performed NO type of examination on the first (and last) visit. She did not call him back with the results which she told him she would. He had to call her and even the office people were not helpful. It was a very frustrating experience and we will never use her again. read more

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was 20. I am a military spouse, so I travel around a lot and have had multiple bad doctors and from the result of a doctor not doing their job I suffered a stroke. When I moved to California I knew I wanted a women doctor because being young she would understand that I would eventually want to have babies. I found Dr. Ibrahim and have been going to her for over a year and absolutely love her. She helps monitor my UC and she makes sure I get labs done every so often to check my levels. I am dreading the day I have to leave her. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. Update: I recently had a bad flair and contacted Dr. Ibrahim and she prescribed me some steroids to help with the flair. I had follow ups and seemed to be getting better but eventually got worse. I contacted Dr. Ibrahim on a Saturday and she called me back and gave me some medicine to help with the nausea and wanted me to get a colonoscopy. She told me her office manager would call me on Monday to schedule the appointment. Monday came, no call. I called and left a voicemail around lunch time. I received a call on Tuesday to only be told I had to get the procedure done at UCI and I would receive a call from them in 24-48 hours. Never received a call. Fast forward. I digressed so bad that I ended up spending 8 days in the hospital. I was anemic and had other issues. She didn't once check my blood even though I have had past issues with being anemic requiring blood transfusions. I don't want to take away from the first review. I think she is really good when it came to maintaining my disease but didn't take me seriously when I knew I was really sick. I feel like there was more she could of done to prevent me from being hospitalized. I have since changed my doctor because of the situations that occurred. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Codini's and do regular colonoscopies due to family history. This was my fourth colonoscopy and first time with Dr. Ibrahim as she took over Dr. Codini's practice. While the doctor was pleasant enough and office staff was mostly fine, this practice is an assembly line to get as many colonoscopies done as possible. I received an order for a follow up CT scan due to an abnormality noted. Getting the CT scan ordered as been a terrible experience. Dr. Ibrahim said Carol would help with this process. Carol advised me that my insurance was requiring that I go to an imaging center some 45 minutes away. My insurance company assured me this was not the case. When I advised Carol of this, she just said 'ok' and offered no other assistance. The schedulers at the center where Ibrahim referred me to were completely incompetent and made me uncertain of doing a scan there. Apparently, if I don't go where Dr. Ibrahim's office tells me to go, then I get no further assistance. After a week of struggling with Ibrahim's office and the imaging center, I've given up and I'm going to my regular GP to follow up on the needed CT scan. I won't be doing my next colonscopy with Dr. Ibrahim. read more

I just have to write this review for Dr. Ibrahim and for the Memorial Care Digestive Center at Saddleback Medical Center because they are all deserving of praise. I had put off doing a colonoscopy out of fear. Dr. Ibrahim was so professional and caring that I realize now I had no reason to be afraid. Dr. Ibrahim was understanding and explained the procedure thoroughly during the consultation. I was given easy instructions to follow for the prep. The team at the Care Center were amazing too. The admitting nurse Joanna was so kind and had a calming effect on me! (I was so nervous!) The procedure room nurse Nicole was also really cool and funny and made me feel at ease. Flora the discharge nurse was really nice and also Jay the transport assistant was funny and sweet. Since we all have to have these procedures done, I highly recommend Dr. Ibrahim, you will be grateful that you did and you wont hesitate to schedule another procedure in the future. read more

This was my first time going to a gastroenterologist and certainly wasn't what I was expecting. Like other people have stated in their reviews, Dr. Ibrahim spent maybe 5 minutes with me in the room before she told me I probably have IBS or SIBO and rushed me out. In the lobby she gave me a form for lab blood tests & told me she'd prescribe me an antibiotic & SIBO test in the mail & then left. She didn't ask me anything about my diet or if I had any concerns about foods that flare up my symptoms. If you want to see someone who will be thorough and genuinely interested in getting to know your symptoms & dietary habits, don't go here. I canceled my follow-up appointment to see another doctor & left a voicemail for their office because they didn't pick up the phone. No call back a week later. I just called to confirm they cancelled my appointment & yes, they did...without ever calling me back to let me know. Very unprofessional and unorganized front desk staff. read more

Dr. Ibrahim is the kindest and genuinely the nicest physician that I have ever seen! She really takes her time to explain everything to you, and you can tell that she really cares about the well being of her patients. I have had so many GI issues, and I switched from different gastroenterologists to another, and finally found Dr. Ibrahim and am really glad that my care was transferred to her. I usually never write reviews, however I was very thrilled with my visit. The staff is also exceptionally kind and are very efficient. I was dreading the idea of having a colonoscopy, but Dr. Ibrahim made what I thought was going to be a very painful and disturbing situation to something that I would not mind looking forward to. It was exactly one year ago today, that my wife was scheduled for a routine colonoscopy with Dr. Dalia Ibrahim. It was anything routine. Within ten minutes of the procedure, I was called into the room and seeing the fire department and paramedics putting her in an ambulance rushing her to the hospital, with lights and siren. The Dr. had cut into her colon, which needed immediate surgery that day. The appointment prior to her procedure was incompetent, with no understanding of my wife's medical history. On the day of the procedure, the Dr. was running late, with many patients waiting after. A week in the hospital and later another appointment with the surgeon. This past year has been a nightmare, with many issues compounding from this procedure. Too many to list here. Be careful who you choose for your Colonoscopy, it could and did change my wife's life forever! read more

When I made an appointment with Dr. Rose Codini for a colonoscopy and the day of my procedure at the surgery center I was told that I would have another Dr. While I agreed to having a different doctor due the fact that I had prepped for 2 days of colon prep with laxatives, etc. and fasted, I agreed to having Dr. Ibrahim handle the colonoscopy. During the procedure I was not provided any medication until the doctor actually began the process of placing a scope in my rectum for the test. I began to tell the staff that I was in excruciating pain and they continued the test. I told them several times I was in pain and it was not acknowledged nor did they alleviate the pain. Pain management was not addressed by this doctor and the test continued. I have had 2 other colonoscopies and did not experience any pain of any kind during these previous procedures. It would have been appropriate for the doctor to address my pain issues and this test was improperly handled and I will never consider returning to this Dr. at any time in the future nor recommend anyone seeing a Dr. who would allow their patient to be in pain during a test such as this. read more
