My experience with Dr. Mirhoseni has been nothing but the best. He has been treating me for diverticulosis, and he recently did a colonoscopy on my husband. He is always compassionate, easily available to answer my questions, and very very knowledgeable. I am very impressed with his office staff and also with his treatment operating facility. The facility where he does the colonoscopies, etc. is efficient, caring (they even called the next day to check up on my husband) and totally proficient. I had previously gone to another doctor to have a colonoscopy, and I felt like I was on a conveyor belt with indifferent staff nurses. I'm so glad I went back to Dr. Mirhoseni. I highly recommend Dr. Mirhoseni. I got the recommendation from my own primary care physician whose colonoscopy was also done by Dr. Mirhoseni. The bad review by another person on this Yelp page sounds ridiculous. I agree with the comment that that person should just "grow up". read more

Absolutely the best there is! My dad died of colon cancer, so I undergo regular colonoscopies. Let's face it...not fun. But Dr. Mirhoseni make it as simple and easy as possible. Excellent staff and a doctor who truly cares. I highly recommend! read more

Dr. Mirhoseni has been my GI doctor for 20 year's. He is truly one of the best gastrointestinal doctors around. His staff and office are all very caring ,well organized, and professional care all across the board. This doctor is the most useless, careless, cold person I have ever had the displeasure of having worked with AS IS HIS ENTIRE STAFF. They are rude, impatient and uninformed. None of my simple questions have been answered since my visit over a week ago, I do not get called back and they are rude when I can finally get a hold of a person. They still have not given me results from my visit over a week ago and they refuse to give them to me for an unknown reason. I have gotten conflicting information more than once and the entire operation is COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! You should be embarrassed of yourselves. DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

UPDATE 6-17-2020: I went in for my follow-up I referred to a few days ago. I interacted with three staff members (check-in, vitals check nurse, and payment/procedure scheduling) as well as the doctor. My wait time was short, precautions were taken for social distancing due to the pandemic, and everyone was professional and friendly. The office is a different location than for my previous visits, but still very close. I'm thankful for everyone that has helped make my unfortunate need to visit the office go as smoothly as possible, and also happy I was able to get an appointment soon after requesting it. 6-12-2020: I have seen Dr. Mirhoseni several times, beginning in 2011, with the latest visit being in 2015 or 2016. I had 3 colonoscopies done through his office. Although it's an unpleasant procedure and he had to give me some really bad news about my health back then, my experiences with him and the staff at the time were positive. I can't comment on any changes of staff that may have happened since then. The reason I am posting this review is because I need to have a follow-up colonoscopy and wanted to return to this doctor. While looking up the info so I could call and schedule an appointment, I saw some negative reviews. Over the years I have begun to set my bar lower and lower when it comes to doctors and their ability to show the slightest amount of respect when it comes to patients' time. And yet, with the bar lowered, Dr. Mirhoseni can't seem to clear a pretty simple expectation level. I had a 9AM appointment today and showed up on time. Once there, I submitted my forms and sat back down in the waiting room. After about 10-15 minutes, I was called to the back so I could sit in the examination room. At about 9:50, with no sign of the doctor, I told myself I would wait till 10 and then see how things were handled if he came in. If he did not arrive, i planned to leave. A full hour had passed - 10AM - before my doctor finally appeared. He walked in the door, jovial and seemingly polite. However, rather than addressing the tardiness, he went right into questions about why I was there. I stopped him mid-sentence and presented him with the fact that I had been there an hour already and did not seem to feel there was a problem with this. Dr. Mirhoseni dismissed this due first to the fact that it takes a while for his staff to put together my file (great backing of his staff). He seemed to have all the original documents I had filled out and not even an file with him so I called him on this. He then changed excuses to blame the previous patient for having taken a long time. He never offered any suggestion of an apology for being late. At this point I chose to walk out and demanded my medical papers and co-payment back. I was very frustrated and explained why I was upset and slammed the door on the way out only to have one of the MAs yell out for me to "Grow up!" I turned back around to talk to the MA saying this and suggested that their office learn a bit about professionalism and I was told to leave and that they had called the police. ??? The doctor never made any attempt to address the situation and, rather, hid in a back office. I will never understand the medical field's comfort level to insist that patients show up 15 minutes early and eagerness to cancel an appointment once you run 15 minutes behind when they regularly have patients in a holding pattern for an hour or more when in the office. It's not acceptable in any other field. Why is it OK for doctors??? In recap - Dr. Mirhoseni can find someone else to examine because he's lost my business. A suggestion I would pass on to him other than learning about being timely would be for him to send his staff out to some conflict resolution classes. If a patient is frustrated, they should at least be able to calm things down rather than toss gas on the flame. read more

Dr. Mirhoseni is truly a top gastro doc. He diagnosed me with a serious illness that needed treatment right away. Other doctors missed this disease for years and left me in a bad way. He was the only one smart enough to do specific testing to finally diagnose me. He has saved my life. Even if you sometimes have to wait a bit for him, he is worth the wait. read more

Dr. Mirhoseni has been our gastroenterologist for about 7 years. He listens to us, takes his time to understand our problems and to explain his findings. When an easy diagnosis is not possible he acts as if it is a personal challenge to determine what the problem is and how to deal with it. His staff is friendly and helpful. We have called in with specific concerns, and they have promised to talk to the Dr. and get back to us, and they have done so. read more

Dr. Mirohoseni is the modern day Dr. Welby, M.D. -- the dream doctor from the 70's TV show, famous for his benevolent bedside manners and wisdom. Dr. Mirohoseni is incredibly educated, experienced, and just plain awesome. A breath of fresh air in today's world of managed health care where so many doctors time their appointments for new patients at five minutes and a maximum of fifteen for new patients. Update: In my previous review of this Dr, Mirhoseni, I mentioned my wife was going to continue using him even though I was not. Well, no more. She went to Dr, Mirhoseni for a routine colonoscopy consultation. During the visit she mentioned a lump she had discovered in her abdomen. Dr, Mirhoseni palpated the lump and ordered at CT scan which she had on 7/19/2018. After waiting nearly a month for the results of the scan and hearing nothing from Mirhoseni's office, she called the scan lab and got her results on 8/14/2017. The scan did not reveal the source of the lump but it did reveal a malignant tumor of ~3 inches at its largest dimension in her left kidney. The radiological report was dated the day after the scan. When she contacted Mirhoseni's office to find out why they had not advised her of her cancer, she was told they had not received the report from the scan lab. She contacted the scan lab and was told the report was forwarded to Mirhoseni's office immediately after it was signed by the radiologist. Because CT scans can contain critical time-sensitive health information, Mirhoseni's office should have followed up to find out the results of my wife's scan. The lack of follow-up by Mirhoseni's office created an unnecessary delay of almost a month during which my wife's cancer could have spread significantly. At this writing, she is undergoing presurgical testing and analysis at UCI Medical Center. read more

I've seen 15++ GI specialists since 2008 for Celiac Disease, including UCI, Irvine, Newport Beach, Cedars Sinai. He is the most capable by far. No prep time to seeing me, encyclopedic knowledge, pleasant manner, carrying personality, normal ego. One of the front desk staff has an attitude, but really doesn't matter. read more

Have been suffering from UC for about 25 years and have seen many doctors. He is by far the best. He talks to you and cares about you as if you are his brother. He gets truly happy if you get better. He spends a long time expiating things and answering your questions without looking at the clock or anything. For as long as you have questions, he is there with you. Dr. Nader Mirhoseni has been a great doctor to me. Taken his time and answered all my questions without feeling rushed. However, his staff is by far the most unprofessional, rude, and uneducated team I have ever experienced. Make sure they write the right prescriptions for you... if I hadn't been paying close attention they would have accidentally given me an antibiotic I am deathly allergic to. When I spoke up for myself in a polite manner I got a hostile rude response. read more

I am a long time patient of Dr Mirhoseni. Having had 2 previous colonoscopies with him & was very happy with him. But his staff was very rude & insulting to me today when I questioned why I was overcharged for a initial consult which was not needed or could have been applied to my total procedure instead. Demanding $100 from me before she would schedule my appt. Arguing with me, raising her voice, trying to overtalk me instead of listening. No thanks I will find another doctor. He was fine when I first met him but went I had an issue after the procedure. I never heard from him. I called his office 3 times and would get the same response as if they didnt even listen to what I was saying. I ended up in the hospital. I would not recommend this doctor or if you do see him dont expect him to call you back or have his staff take an interest in actually helping and following up to make sure you are okay. read more
