My primary care doctor recommended Dr. Gujral. I wanted a female doctor for obvious reasons. Dr. Gujral's team knows what they are doing. I have the highest regard for Dr. Gujral and her abilities to treat me during that wonderful process of colonoscopy. During my initial phone visit she advised me of a new prep powder was available. I expressed my concern for the disgusting prep I had used before and she eased my mind on the newer prep powder. The instructions provided by the team were very clear and concise. I trust Dr. Gujral and when the time comes for another appointment I will go back to Dr. Gujral. The surgery center and the staff there were very caring as well. When you are going through an exhausting medical procedure you want peace of mind. My daughter used this doctor and she woke up during the procedure. The doctor was trying to cram the equipment (which includes a balloon) down her throat. But she was still too drugged to stop the doctor or to react. But she was AWAKE! Worst, most terrifying experience of her life. She had to endure the feeling of choking and the fear of suffocation at the hands of this doctor. read more

My husband almost died under the care of Dr. Gujral and Mission Hospital. She kept pushing medication for his Ulcerative Colitis when really his colon was so toxic it was destroying his other organs and body. Thankful for the GI team and surgeons at Cedars Sinai. The day he got there they gave him blood transfusions and an emergency surgery to remove what was killing him. I don't think he had another week to live. I do not recommend Dr. Grujral as a GI doctor to anybody. read more

I was referred to Dr. Gujral by my allergy doctor of 35 years, and after having gone to two other gastro doctors in a Mission Viejo Group, she was the one who figured out my problem. She is very, very thorough and interested in getting you well! She's the best gastro doctor here in South Orange County as far as I am concerned! She diagnosed me with SIBO, which is a Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth caused from antibiotics most likely from a surgery I had last August! I have been experiencing horrible stomach pain, nausea and bloating. I had to have a special breath test done which Dr. Gujral ordered and that told her I had a problem. Dr. Robert Carr comes down from Fullerton to give this specific test a couple of times a month. Dr. Gujral's staff, Tiffany and Mary are very friendly, sweet, kind and helpful! Love those girls! Dr Gujral has been my family gastroenterologist for years. I have also referred many friends to her and they thank me over and over again! She is smart, caring and quick to respond to you in case you need immediate help! Nothing worse than a specialist who doesn't treat you special! She makes time and she listens! What just happened??? I called to make a New patient appointment and was told the doctor won't be back to end of November. It's mid October, and after going back and forth with the reception to see if they take my insurance and explained that I have a referral, she added " but the doctor won't be back till end of November. I went to see Dr. Navjyot after being referred because of stomach bloating, side pain, getting sick, etc... I got an endoscopy which showed moderate Gerd. I got medication that helped some. But when I saw Dr. Navjyot, she was very understanding and helped me find the right medication. Getting an appointment took about 2-3 weeks, seems normal. If this were only based on the doctor I'd give a much higher rating. However, the billing of this office is awful. So awful I will never go back. It seems others have had a similar issue. I was told up front how much my procedure would cost, which I paid. I was never told I would owe more later down the road. However, 6 months later I receive a bill (which for me wasn't easy to pay). I called the number on the bill and spoke to the Billing rep names Bob. I'm not sure I've ever spoken to someone more rude and inconsiderate. I asked if he could explain why I am receiving a bill when I was told how much the procedure would be prior. He told me I did not know what I was talking about, they never tell you and I needed to pay now. I continued to ask to explain why I am being billed so much later after the procedure, he continued to talk rudely and yell. I explained I would call my insurance to verify, and while I've been waiting for a response on their research I received another bill with a late fee that stated late fees are added after 30 days, but both bills are dated not even 30 days after each other. I've never experienced anything like this. It seems no matter how much I explained to Bob about my situation I was yelled at, told I was wrong. I paid the amount. I suppose they just bully you until you pay. read more

I am so excited to have met the Dr and this office. Everyone here seems extremely well trained and take care of their patients phenomenally. From the way I was treated, to how I could hear the front desk talking to other patients on the phone, this is obviously a practice that really cares about the well being of their patients, with the upmost respect. The front desk and nurse were very nice and the doctor obviously goes above above and beyond to ensure she find a solution to your gastrointestinal problems. If I could give no stars I would. My primary care doc sent me here for my first ever colonoscopy. My husband had had one elsewhere the month before and I expected not to be put to sleep. When I arrive I find out they intend to put me under. I explain my history of not doing well under sedation. Dr. Gujral and her anesthesiologist (middle aged white man whose name I do not remember) pitch a fit that I have to be sedated. I talk to them about giving me the lightest amount possible because of how long it takes me to recover and that it messes with me so please no. The anesthesiologist (who looks about 6+ feet tall) tells me "I had it and I'm fine." As if I don't know my own history or body (patriarchy, much?).  He agrees to light sedation. Gujral assures me I'll be awake. But I'm knocked out. I have a nightmare where I can't wake up and on the inside I'm screaming but I know no sound is coming out. I can't open my eyes. She doesn't discuss anything with me when I do come to. Like they found three benign things, call my husband and talk to him about it but they don't call me. They discuss nothing with me. Period. But a nurses assistant who needs to get the room ready for the next victim starts coming in loudly trying to get me to hurry up and get dressed on the bed. I'm seeing stars. I feel like I'm going to throw up and I do throw up once I get home. And I'm pretty much useless the rest of the day. And still--no one calls me. So overall, if you enjoy being knocked out without consent and then having no one discuss findings with you because you know, you're just the stupid wife who doesn't understand her own body, go here. I'm never going back and I suggest that women boycott this place. read more

Dr. Gujral prescribed a remicade infusion for my son. While we were at the infusion center, my son had a life threatening allergic reaction. The nurse called Dr.Gujral's office twice in an attempt to get orders for medications to treat his allergic reaction and she spoke with office staff and told them it was an emergency. They said Dr.Gujral was busy but would call back, despite being told it was an emergency. Dr. Gujral NEVER called back. I am appalled. I had to call my son's former GI Dr (who answered immediately) to get orders for medication and directions for the nurse. His old GI has also called back twice to check in on my son but we STILL haven't heard from dr. Gujral! read more

I do not know about the Provider, but the office staff lacked knowledge and professionalism regarding Medical Billing. Despite having met my annual deductible and max out of pocket - the office staff persisted in trying to collect my deductible despite my clear explanation. They would not allow me to see the Provider without my copay. This is not supposed to happen once you've met your deductible and out of pocket max. I hope they are not victimizing other patients in the same way. I will be going back to my previous GI Specialist. I only tried this practice because it was closer. read more

Dr. Gujral is exceptional in her bedside manner, technical skill and dedication to her practice. I have been to many GI practices (unfortunately). She listened to my medical history, took notes and was genuinely eager to help me resolve my symptoms and try to diagnose my long-term chronic pain and gastro issues. She scheduled me immediately for a colonoscopy and endoscopy to view my whole digestive tract and was extremely thorough in taking biopsies of lesions found. The procedure was done at the Memorial Medical Center across the street and I also know she has two other medical Surg units that she shares. So she can respond quickly, I appreciate that she schedule me in after she normally was done for the day to get fast results. I wish she was my internal medicine doctor. Yes, I am still after one week awaiting results from the biopsies but think that has to come from Primary physician who is gone for Easter Weekend. Thank you Dr. Gujral for your compassion, concern and excellent medical treatment. I am very grateful. read more

I was referred to Gujral through a doctor locator service and at first it was ok. They were very attentive and followed up when I first began visiting. Gujral seemed very attentive and helpful. This was all good until the surgeries were completed, by her I might add. She said I needed a Colonoscopy and and Endoscopy, and upper GI, ultrasound, and a breath test. Yes, I said breath test. She told me I had a twisted colon and needed the expensive upper GI, along with medication. When I had that done, the doctor providing the GI service said he wasn't sure what Gujral was talking about...no twisted colon at all. So another wasted day at work, and more money spent that went nowhere. She then said I needed a breath test, of course more of my time and money, after which she said I needed more medication and a very strict diet. As this process continued, her service around seeing me declined. My office visits required a 45 minute wait now and she kept talking about more medication. Being the good patient, I followed all her recommendations. This was an issue because my insurance didn't feel her recommendations were warranted, so they kept asking for more information around the medication requests. I waited for several weeks to get them approved, and when I called the office to see where we were on getting them filled, Gujral (yes I'm leaving out Dr.) called me back, only to berate me and make me feel I was the problem and that I should be handling the medication approval process. Of course, she was super nice and staff was very helpful when she wanted me to have the surgeries. Oh, I don't want you to forget, she is the surgeon and she gets paid extremely well for providing the services. Once that is done, regardless of the results, Gujral and her office move on to the next patient (victim). Make sure your due diligence is done.....there are other options, doctors. read more

Dr. Gujral is kind, caring and very thorough in her work. Last year I had my colonoscopy and endoscopy done by Dr. Gujral in the San Clemente facility. She explained the whole process in detail and everything went very smoothly. I was very pleased with the excellent level of care and service received. Dr. Gujral and her staff were very professional. This year again I had to go to her for other GI illness and she was very pro active with various tests and got the diagnosis really quickly. I'm very grateful to Dr. Gujral for her care. Dr. Gujral is an amazing doctor. I was hospitalized for 3 days for intestinal inflammation, and the ER and hospital docs were convinced it was viral. After the hospital, I called Dr. Gujral and told them the situation, and they got me in in 2 days. She was very good at actually listening to my problems, and was very quick about ordering tests needed. She has been the only doctor I have seen that has taken my concerns seriously in the last year of having severe stomach pain. Also, she personally calls with test results and calls back quickly if you have questions. Very happy so far! read more

Worst office staff I have ever dealt with. Called literally seven different times to schedule an appointment. I got every excuse in the book why they can't take two minutes out of their day to schedule an appointment that would be a month and a half out anyway. Was told to call back another day because "the lady who schedules appointments was either sick, out of the office or was busy and would call me back." Never happened!. When I did talk to her, she needed the referral faxed from my MD's office because she can't take my word for it where I give her the referral number I have on my copy. I am sure they could have looked it up in the system where it could be verified. Lastly, I called today again and was told to call back next week as they only schedule appointments between 9 and noon. Sounds to me like somebody does not want to get off their butt and do a little customer service. Probably a good doctor, but has lousy office staff. Had to ask for a referral to a different Dr out of the area. read more

I was given a referral to Dr Gujral. I called, gave my insurance and made an apt. I had to book it 3 months out. The day before my apt I called to confirm since I didn't receive a call and was told my apt had been cancelled. The reason was they did not take my insurance. Which I told the receptionist who my insurance provider was when I booked the apt. No one bothered to call me to tell me it was cancelled and I waited 3 months for my apt. The woman on the phone was rude, did not apologize and told me don't shoot the messenger. It would have been nice if they called me 2 months ago to let me know so I could of found someone else. read more

If I could I would not give her any stars. She is far from being even a one star!!Very uncaring doctor! Rushes patients through after waiting for her for at least a half hour or longer! Does not answer questions you may have or explain to you what is going on. Just dismisses questions as if she knows all ! Offers no other alternatives to medicine. I don't think she was born with a RX pad in her hand, but maybe so! I guess this is why they call them prescribers on TV and not doctors, because they are so far away from the oath they took to become a doctor it isn't even funny!! Dr. Gujral and her entire staff are exceptional! I was due for my first colonoscopy and was very nervous about the entire process. From handling the insurance paperwork, to the consolation to explain the procedure, to the sedation, and to finally completing the procedure Dr Gujral and her entire staff were the best.
