My husband and I visited this restaurant I believe a year or two ago we came one night for dinner and everything was delicious I'm not a big soul food person so every now and again I'll go out with my husband for a soul food dinner. Even though our first visit here was about 2 years ago we did visit this past Saturday with two other couples to celebrate our husbands for husband appreciation day which is the third Saturday in April always. We had reservations for Saturday at noon and we arrived right on time and our space was already set for us. Our waitress/bartender Alize took care of us... very personable ...very sweet... customer service was a 10 out of 10. I will make mention ahead of time I did order cornbread later on and I never got it :( Omg! I did call but no answer so I figured I would just go ahead and charge it to the game but I was definitely looking forward to trying the cornbread with my grits. The ambience inside is definitely welcoming the music is not blasting definitely a comfortable volume. The parking can be an issue but we didn't have one. Parking was available on the street and it was only a short walk for us to get to the restaurant. Our meals out of the six of us present I believe at least half of us ordered the catfish one person ordered the turkey chops and that was basically the gist of our meals. I don't think anybody ordered any straight up breakfast food but I will say everybody was in agreeance that this meal and dining experience was amazing! We will definitely be back soon and we definitely recommend you trying out this restaurant. My meal in particular I had the grilled catfish and created my grits with honey jalapeno and butter and oh my goodness everything was good from beginning to end. Our drinks were top-notch as well! The bartender even made up a drink for one of the wives at the table. She didn't know what she wanted but wanted to be surprised and she was pleasantly surprised she ordered another one. Our husbands enjoyed their surprise brunch even though they had some kind of inkling that something was happening because we did get shirts for them to wear to match each other... It's very modern yet with a classic vibe. Sorta steam punk esque if you will. I had several classes of Jameson (my favorite) and my friend tried the Violette and the Mr. Pink (play on a Negroni) which were both very good. We also shared some Old Bay French fries which were very yummy. The service was great! The bartender was very knowledgeable about the drinks and was even able to offer substitutions for ingredients in the drinks. Today Monday the day after is National prime rib day so the restaurant decided to feature a special on prime rib for Sunday dinner. My husband made reservations online for 5:00 p.m. we arrived on time with no wait and because the restaurant was fairly empty we decided to dine at the bar instead of a table in the actual dining room. Our bartender/waitress, Lizzie, she was on point held the whole bar area down punctual assertive and had everything under control. I ordered a margarita I did ask her is it a fresh Margarita and she said yes and my husband ordered his normal crown with a splash of Sprite. My margarita in my opinion it didn't taste as fresh as I would like it to be and then I don't care to have a margarita in a tall glass that just screams mix not fresh to me. Nevertheless I just know not to order that again going forward but my husband's cocktail... Crown Royal with Sprite he enjoyed it! I wasn't super hungry so I decided to order a salad and add a piece of blackened salmon to it it was very good finished it all up... ordered it my way. My husband ordered the prime rib I believe medium his was a little bit more than medium but nevertheless he said it was good and he ate every last Fork full. We decided to make room for dessert so we share the creme bruelle which was pretty good ...not the best ever tho. Our dining experience took about 90 minutes we were able again to sit at the bar and catch some of the NBA Playoffs that were featured on TV. Overall the dining experience was a 10 out of a 10 five stars as usual of course a few bumps, but nothing to take away from this experience. The Ambiance is always lovely very inviting love the low lighting that it gives as well as the natural light that comes through the windows. The service always on point! Great times! Hidden gem…read more.. My husband and I love it here! We love the hometown feel of a restaurant where it seems everybody is a friend of a friend who knows a friend who goes here. The waitresses are always super friendly and on point from the many times that we visited we seem to be regulars so they always greet us and sometimes they even know what we're wanting to either eat or drink. Always a great time here! On Friday's they do karaoke and feature live bands sometimes. We haven't really attended a night where it was super busy but I have driven by before where some nights have been busier than others during the week. They do offer specials on food as well as drinks so if you like a small bar with friendly service definitely check them out if you're in the area. Parking can be a little difficult but they make it work and if you want to visit you will make it make it work as well.
