I just knew this place was going to be Top Notch when I told my bestie visiting from Atlanta we were going to go here for a cocktail hour this past Friday night... boy was I disgusted and disappointed. We arrived at 6:30pm for our reservation. We walked in and was greeted and the next gesture was the hostess asking for $10 each. I was a bit blown away because I didn't understand what the $10 was for because we just walked in the restaurant and it was only a handful of people inside including an employee sitting down eating ... and the workers still setting up and what appeared to be the entertainment that was setting up as well. The hostess mentioned entertainment was taking place around 7:30 or 8:00 ... Okay but it was not even close to that time frame so not sure why money was taken or asked for in advance. My bestie and I were going to dine if anything share an appetizer and have a drink ...definitely wasn't going to be there for any entertainment because we both were underdressed so that was a bit of a turn-off but he was excited to try the restaurant so he paid the $20 for us to walk in and sit down. The restaurant was wide open so we decided to sit at the bar instead of a table not sure if he was greeted at the bar because I went to the restroom. Nevertheless I came from the restroom and sat at the bar with him and not even 2 minutes later I was greeted with gnats and the smell of bleach such a turn off not sure what's going on here or what happened but I was ready to go. My bestie wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt but 5 minutes later I still was turned off and was ready to go. Well... go at your own risk. Parking is available on the street as well as a parking garage is available within walking distance. We were in and out by 7pm. $60 spent I order an old fashioned I know I finished that in about 15 seconds because I didn't want anything to get in it so from what I can recall it was good. I went at the beginning of Happy Hour. It was crowded at the bar but the rest of the place was empty. The vibe is nice. Nice music playing, the bartender was really nice. I got a drink (Crown and ginger ale), the fried green tomatoes and the crab bites. Everything was delicious and the drink definitely would the price. I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes and check out their after 7 entertainment. read more

I stopped by The Rhythm Room over the weekend with a friend of mine since they recently just opened. The Rhythm Room is located in the heart of Peninsula Town Center which means finding parking was a bit of a challenge. My friend parked in a parking garage that was fairly close but I had to circle the block a few times and happened to find parking on the street almost 2 blocks away. Before we walked in, security checked our bags and were patting down the guys, which I thought was interesting seeing as though this was more of a restaurant than a bar/club environment but I guess you can't be too sure. We made reservations for 7pm and our table was ready as soon as we arrived. Our server was very nice and greeted us right away. We both ordered the Island Breeze cocktail and it was alright, it tasted more like juice than anything else. For appetizers, we decided on the Mac & Cheese Bites, Buffalo Crab Dip and the Salmon Bites. The food was served fairly quickly but the Mac & Cheese Bites were a bit dry and the Salmon Bites weren't very flavorful. The Buffalo Crab Dip was my favorite and had actually had an abundance of crab, which we enjoyed. We were hoping there would be a live band but was told there wasn't a band on Saturdays, which we thought would've been a nice touch since there's one on Fridays. Eventually, a DJ did show up so that helped create a vibe but it did start getting packed as the evening went on so we decided to leave. Overall, The Rhythm Room was pretty decent. It was a bit of an older crowd when we went but we had a good time nonetheless. If you live in Hampton or want to try out a new spot with a decent vibe, definitely check them out. read more

Went here for a gathering after a conference and absolutely loved it! The food was amazing. I had the crab cake dinner. It was seasoned so well! I actually split it with someone. The portions was too much for me however if I was super hungry I could've had it all. It was fresh crab meat for sure. I loved the presentation. I'm from LA and am definitely a foodie. So I love both taste and presentation. The ambiance was perfect. Loved the lighting and the simple yet vibey setup. Staff were moving fast yet very attentive. Now the band!!! If you are like me and truly DO NOT do CLUBS but occasionally like to get dolled up with your Girlfriends and listen to a live band or go on a date night and make it home before midnight . This Just might be the place for you. To my surprise I have drove by this lounge on countless occasions in the Hampton Town Center not knowing what a hidden gem it truly was. I was invited by a close friend to join her for a Happy Hour that started around 7pm to enjoy live music being played by The Champagne Band! There was plenty of public parking, FREE Entrance, respectful security guards and did I mention a tasteful dress code? Do not let the exterior fool you, this venue is extremely spacious inside. PLENTY of room... tables and chair galore and a great crowd to match... Its biggest flaw was that fact that is was severely understaffed for the amount of people that were there... regardless the music and ambiance was so good that we waited for our drinks and had flag down a waitress here and there.. lol Overall I would reccomend for a date night, ladies night age range from late 30's up. Everything above has been done before by others to some level of success. There's just a magical fairy dust at The Rhythm Room that makes this a unique experience. The venue is full of beautiful people from all walks, of all shapes, inclusive to all persuasions with the collective desire to vibe out and enjoy themselves fully. Everyone is so sincerely gracious. The sister with the impeccable bone structure and skin that is usually the hostess is everything! The tall chef that comes to the front of the house to peep folks devouring the food- I love watching you watch us! Bar staff, I'm dry now but much respect to you all! And to the DJ and special guest DJs- the beats, lyrics, mixes, playlists, hype moments make the magic all come together. The skill level is unmatched in this area IMO. The food was good, but the server was subpar. It is usually a problem when a server does not write the order down. We were not asked what we wanted to drink, so I had water. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. The entrees arrived, but I had no knife to cut my food. By this point, I was truly dissatisfied with the visit. I asked about the appetizer, and it finally arrived after the server took our plates and silverware. It still would not have been so bad, but she did not provide a serving spoon for our dip or the small plates that one would normally receive. I noticed other servers bringing the dip with a serving spoon and plates, but we were not afforded the same treatment. The music was pretty good just very loud. read more

Had high hopes for this place, gave it a few tries and left disappointed each time after my first visit. First time I went was for a going-away party and the experience left me wanting more. But each time after, left me disappointed in the customer service and food/menu. The final straw was the way the owners couldn't return my call about an incident that happened in their establishment after 4 attempts to make contact. Just not a place I'd recommend financially supporting anymore. The live bands are definitely carrying this place so looking forward to catching them at other venues in the 757. read more

I am sitting inside the Rhythm Room and I made a reservation at 715 arrived and at 740 was told it was a 15 min wait got our table at 8 and it is currently 843 and we are still waiting for host to take ANY dinner order... walked up to the bar to get ANOTHER drink and still have yet to be acknowledged by a server! On 9/12/2025 at 5:45pm today my experience concerning the unprofessionalism of both the waitress at the door and the manager was appalling. First the waitress acts as if she doesn't see me standing in front of her and has a problem realizing that both (Anthony and Tony are the same on the reservation). I conveyed to her I had a reservation for two and my other party member would be in later; this was 2 hours before the band played. She informed me that I would have to wait for the party member. I asked if this is a new rule a because I've never had to wait before in the past and there were mostly people at the bar and two couples seated already. I inquired about speaking to the manager who was behind the bar who informed the waitress that she was too busy. This will not be a place that I recommend to my family or military friends in the future due to the unprofessionalism (and not all the workers)) but the few that still have forgotten that customer service extends not only to those you know, but also to THOSE YOU DON'T. read more
