My friend and I signed up for the Wine/Christmas lights tour (12/14) and we had a decent time. We were able to taste 3 different wines from an Italian restaurant in North Dallas along with flatbreads and charcuterie. It would've been nice to have a white wine instead of the 2 reds that were chosen to go along with the rosé. After that, we were taken for dessert and I thoroughly enjoyed that as the gelato was amazing! Then the lights tour started and we hit spots in park cities that were notable for their Christmas lights. I had high expectations but was very underwhelmed by the effort of lights this year. Our very last stop was to the popular house off Deloach Avenue. I wish we would've went here first so we could've had a chance to see the house - instead when we arrived it was a madhouse and we wasn't able to see the house. The hostess was nice, they provided drinks while on the tour, and was nice enough to make a stop for a bathroom break. Overall, it was a decent time and something new to try! read more

They overbooked their tour, and then refused to refund $300+ despite having confirmation, booking numbers and Viatour company all confirming our reservations. The owner/operator and booking company both said the other would have to approve the refund. They appear both unsympathetic and focused on blaming the other than rectifying the situation. 2 hours on and off hold waiting for a supervisor to receive a refund. 4 hours later receive call from owner asking us to remove review, but still not taking responsibility. TLDR- Wouldn't recommend for out of town guests or if you want to book more than 1 ticket. read more

I appreciate this a lot, and I might try booking through them again, but it is kind of a risk with how much it costs. Ended up getting extremely sick a couple days prior to the Taco & Margarita tour. Thought I would have gotten better before the tour but unfortunately I did not. I know they had a no refund policy, but I was hoping they had some leniency as they require everyone to be in good health to attend. Nope. No refund, not even a partial refund, nor are they willing to reschedule, which is extremely odd. $90 wasted. This review is for the Bishop Arts Tour. We got a Groupon, so we thought the price was a good deal, but honestly, we weren't impressed by this tour. Even with the Groupon deal, it wasn't worth the value. I've been to a few food tours, and my favorite part is trying popular, high quality food and learning about the city. There is also usually a lot of food, so I always end up leaving stuffed. For this food tour, the food quality and quantity were disappointing. However, the manager was kind and let two of our friends join the tour even though the tour was overbooked, so I appreciate the flexibility. The tour ended up being 18 people, so it definitely felt too overcrowded, and my friends didn't end up enjoying the tour very much so maybe it would have been better if they didn't join. The first stop was Eno's Pizza Tavern. It was literally just pizza, so I didn't think there was anything special, although my boyfriend said he liked it. We also came about 10 mins late to the food tour, so the pizza wasn't hot. 3/5 stars for the pizza in my opinion. The next stop was Parker Barrows (a sandwich place). This was our least favorite spot (collective agreement from our party). The sandwich was nothing special, and we all thought we could get a better sandwich from Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's. 1/5 stars for this place. The next stop was Lockhart BBQ. You get a tiny piece of brisket with a small scoop of Mac and cheese. Brisket was pretty dry, and Mac and cheese wasn't flavorful. Would probably give 3/5 stars. Lastly, was Azúcar (an ice cream place). I got half a scoop of the Reese's flavor and half a scoop of their best seller (guava, cream cheese, cookies). Flavor and texture was just average. The flavor was unique but wasn't executed very well. 3/5 stars for the ice cream. For the tour itself, our guide Kimberly gave a talk about Bonnie and Clyde in the beginning, and she was knowledgeable. We didn't walk around the area as much as I thought we would, and I was hoping for more pearls and information about the Bishop Arts District. The tour was estimated to take around 3.5 hours, but it was really only around 2 hours. I felt like most of the time spent was just waiting around, instead of receiving information about the foods we ate or about the locations. To make this tour better, the tour should highlight higher quality locations that make the Bishop Arts district special. Food portions should also be bigger. I felt like most people on the tour didn't eat much pizza in the first stop because we were warned to pace ourselves, so there ended up being leftovers. However, the remaining food for the tour had small portions, so we all actually could have had more pizza. If the tour is indicated to be 3.5 hours, then we should receive high quality information about the area and the food, and there should be more places to sight-see. In summary, I would not recommend the Bishop Arts Tour. You are better off going on your own and trying different foods at your own pace. read more

We booked and took a dallas by chocolates lights and sips. Currently on this tour. We've stopped at a couple of dessert places, one Kate Weiser and another a macaron shop & finally an ice cream stop. The sweets are good but minimal. (Two pieces of chocolate, 1 macaron, 1/2 scoop ice cream) The tour guide Angela is excellent. I would give her 5 stars. There's no working sound system on the bus so tour guide has to give info at the front and back, no music which would be nice. Wine and water was served on the bus. Speaking of the bus, it does not have working air. There is warm air blowing that we've been told is set at 65. It's 63 outside and at least 20 degrees hotter on this bus. Everyone is beyond hot. So hot we're starting to not feel well. Angela reached out to her boss about the issue during the tour. An offer was made to Uber us back to our car but we decided to stay with the tour. Overall an ok experience that I wouldn't necessarily pay for again but it was nice to get out and about in dallas. read more

We were looking for something fun and different to do for our anniversary and I checked out Groupon and found out about the Bishop Arts Food Tour. We met our tour guide Kimberly and started at Eno's with some delicious wood fired pizza. They gave us 3 different pizzas and they were all delicious. While eating, our guide gave us some local information and did a monologue about Bonnie Barrow of Bonnie n Clyde fame that was great! Next we walked to Parker Barrows for sandwiches and chips. I'm not a huge sandwich fan but these were great! I'll definitely come back and try their Forbidden Beer and a sandwich! Then we hit up an old favorite- Lockhart Smokehouse. You do have to wait while your guide goes through the line so grab a beer and enjoy the company! We had a packed tour with 24 people and met some friends for the day from Australia, Oklahoma and Little Elm. Can't wait to try the other tours offered! read more

Very disappointing! Host didn't have a speaker so you could not hear anything from the back of the motorcoach which meant we couldn't participate in the trivia. Nothing was explained to us about the cemetary-we just wandered around on our own. The hotel changed hands and they were pissed we were there and practically yelling that we couldn't go up to the 10th floor. We drove by a house that had decorations but the driver left the lights on inside the motorcoach so we really couldn't see outside. The party house dismissed us instead of the wine tasting we were promised. The lake again just wandering around with no direction. The haunted house was the owner talking to us in her driveway about her house but we didn't get to go in. I guess we take her word for it?! Then to top off a disappointing night, the driver on the way to the last stop, takes a corner too sharp and get the motorcoach stuck on the curb. Needing a wrecker, we all had to find our own rides back to our pickup location. The host was sweet and was trying so hard but I think by the end she wanted to cry. She called the owner several times throughout the night but was getting minimal.help. I am hoping we get a refund on this adventure! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I wanted to book the Dallas' Best Taco & Margarita Tour for me and my husband's birthday. I emailed the company to see if there would be enough space for our party. Jeanine quickly emailed me back and said that they were going to add another bus which would accommodate up to 35 people, so there would be NO problem accommodating our small party. I created and sent an invitation, had guests send me their money so that I could book all the tickets together and get the group rate of $68.50 (way too high for tacos, but its my bday). Once everyone had sent me their money , I tried to book online however the date that I had confirmed with Jeanine was not available online!!!. I figured there must have been a mistake, since this is why I had specifically emailed prior to sending the invitation, so I called Jeanine. She gave a weak apology and said that there was just nothing she could do. She then insisted said that she had NEVER told me that they were actually adding another bus (see my photo of her email). She stuck with this story until I referenced the email in which she had in fact said those EXACT words. She gave another weak apology and said she could put us on a waiting list and would create another tour if enough people booked. I asked her how people would even know that my day was available since it would not be an option online. She agreed that no one would know and said that she couldn't add it on online. I was frustrated and upset that I now had no birthday party. I was also embarrassed that I would now have to refund people their money. I started painstakingly sending people their money back. Approximately 15 minutes later Jeanine called me back and said that she WAS able to create an interest list online for my date with the hopes that enough people with book and we would have enough for an additional tour, but I had already started giving refunds. I explained that to her. What was I supposed to do now, ask people to RESEND me their money??? No!!! So now I'm stuck with no birthday party plans. I'm frustrated and irritated and just wanted to share my experience with the hopes that it may help somebody else out. looking back, $70 a person really is too much to pay for 4 tacos and 2 margaritas. If I had more time I would book a limo and create my own taco tour and we'd probably be able to do it for a better price. We did the Haunted Lights & Frights Tour and several of the stops did not expect, or want us there. There was no speaker system for the tour guide on the bus so the people in the rear couldn't hear anything that was being said up front. Even after the tour guide became aware of this, she didn't make adjustments or repeat herself where we could hear her too. Apparently the people at the front of the bus knew what we were looking for at the cemetery we stopped at, but the rest of us had no idea. Several of the stops were cut way short and the other stops that we spent more time at were lame since we didn't know why we were there. Then the bus cut a corner too tight and ended up stuck in the ditch so we all had to find our own rides back to our cars and never even made it to the last planned stop. Expensive for what you get. $42.25 per person to drive all the way out to downtown Dallas for the first meeting spot. I live in Carrollton and didn't find out until after the tour was over that there was a tour based in Plano/Carrollton. I wish I had known that because I would have signed up for that instead of a downtown/Highland Park tour. You place your order online and don't get any addtl info about the tour until the day before. It even prompted me to email them to find out exactly where were supposed to be meeting. The 5 places we went to were good but only 1 of the 5 offered a discount to our group. The rest were just regular retail stores which I found odd. At the cookie place, they ran out of the flavors we wanted and offered to give us coupons for the buy one get one free if we came back. She handed our tour guide a stack of coupons to hand out on the bus, which we never got. I contacted the tour operator via email (since that was the only contact info I had) and was told to contact the owner of the cookie place. Kind of odd but it speaks volumes that I probably wont' be doing another tour like that with this company. Sad too because the tour guide was actually very nice and tried to be as nice as possible. I went on this tour last year and had a wonderful experience! This year we went again and had a completely different experience. The tour guide and bus driver were both unprofessional making rude and crude jokes the entire time. We were on a Christmas lights tour and instead of playing Christmas music, she played Snoop Dog and was twerking at the front of the bus. She did not read the audience well at all. They were using profanities, and making jokes in reference to different races and individuals. Very bummed about our evening. read more

The worst tour I have ever been on. The bus driver stopped short so many times my neck was killing me . The air conditioner wasn't running and it was 70 something outside ... the unorganized tour guide handed out stale chocolates and flat wine . Just awful! Then we spent about 2 hours driving up and down 75 NOT seeing lights ...getting car sick . Each place we stopped at was not prepared for us ... we stood around waiting in smoking parking lots. We have done this tour many times. I took my sister on the Taco and Margarita Tour for her 40th birthday. Rhonda, our tour guide, was great. And we were all excited for the tour. The mood changed when we got in the van. My group of 7 was in the back and there was no air conditioning in the back. It was awful. And when I asked about it Rhonda didn't really have an answer. I asked the driver and he basically said, sorry about your luck. There's a leak and it's going to the shop. I emailed Jeanine after the tour and a week later with no response or apology. I went on the Hidden Dallas tour and was thoroughly entertained. Jeanine, our guide is fun and funny. She made sure everyone was comfortable (it was freezing outside) and encouraged participation with trivia and unusual conversation starting questions.("Have you ever won anything?") She showed us some truly hidden gems in our city. Several of us were long time residents that were being introduced to places we did not know existed. My boyfriend surprised me with this tour for my birthday and neither of us anticipated it to be as fun as it actually was!! Our guide RHONDA, really MADE this trip what it was. She was friendly, funny, sociable, everything you'd want in a guide!! I'll break my review down a bit below... SPOT 1: We started out at a restaurant with chips & salsa, queso, margaritas & a chicken/beef taco. It was DELISH (highly recommend the beef taco)!!! At the first restaurant, Rhonda also went around our table of 30+ guests and learned everyone's names -- at the same time, having us learn each others names so it didn't turn into one of those awkward tours where you only speak to the people in your party. (Side note: We made some awesome friends on our tour, thanks to RHONDA!) **The only thing I will warn you about at spot 1 is... If you get there early, whatever drinks / food you get (except the chips) are on your own dime! This was not made clear to us and luckily we didn't get anything... but, there were some unhappy guests on our tour because they thought the margs they ordered were complimentary... SPOT 2: We departed our first location to another AMAZING taqueria. My boyfriend and I shared the cow head taco and the cow brain taco (don't worry, there are more "normal" options). We loved the adventurous options!! SPOT 3: Next, we stopped at a very small taco shop that has a special habanero sauce. Rhona said she would give $1 to someone who ate a taco with the sauce all over it, without drinking water (or 25 cents to 4 people; but no prize if 4+ people did it, haha). So, naturally, lots of people went for it!! It was so fun & my bf and I got to try a deliciously spicy habanero sauce that really kicked in after a minute of eating it. SPOT 4: At the final destination, we got another margarita and a chicken/chorizo taco (recommendation: chorizo taco). This was my our FAVORITE spot! Delicious margs & tacos and very friendly staff! TRANSPORTATION: Between each stop, we boarded a nice, clean, coach bus. USUALLY, transportation on tours between destinations are awkward and quiet.. NOT THE CASE HERE!!! Rhonda was a fabulous M.C. who also provided DRINKS!!! I laughed so hard on the rides that I was crying more from laughing on our rides than from eating that spicy habanero sauce at spot 3!! GUIDE: RHONDA!!!!!! If you haven't already seen from my text above, Rhonda = the BEST. Having been on many tours across the world, I can confidently say Rhonda makes top 3 BEST guides. What makes a tour a complete flop or an extreme success is the quality of the guide -- and Rhonda does NOT disappoint!! (She even had a small surprise for us at the end of the tour and brought us for a chocolate sampling). TL;DR... This was a fantastic trip!! My sister and I were excited to go on a Chocolate, Lights & Sips tour on Monday, 12/21/15 with our husbands. It sounded like a great way to see some Christmas lights and get into the holiday spirit. We registered about a week early and were sent a confirmation email with additional information the day before the tour. The day of the tour, we were running late due to traffic and followed the instructions to call a number and notify them if you're going to be late. Their response was, "We leave on time whether you're here or not." Understandable, but why request a guest call if they're late if you're not going to do anything for them? (Even offering to have us meet them at the first stop would've been more helpful). Regardless, we made it just in time so no harm. We were on a charter bus that was completely full - 36 seats totally packed. Our intro email said there were only about 24 attendees so I was surprised that the bus was totally full. Our first stop was Boulangerie. We tasted full-sized chocolate croissants which were wonderful and heard a bit about the business from an employee. It was a quick stop, but very good. As we were boarding the bus, our tour guide caught the attention of an employee at a pizza restaurant across the street who was offering free samples. He said he could have free samples for the entire bus in 3 minutes, so she decided we would wait for the samples. It ended up being more like 15 minutes, but we waited and everyone who wanted to was able to try a small slice of pizza. It was fine, but not worth the wait or resulting delay to our Chocolate tour. The rest of the tour was rushed as we had wasted so much time waiting on sub-par pizza. The next stop on the tour was CocoAndre Chocolatier which is a very cool little shop where we tasted three types of their chocolate. I would've loved more time to look around and shop, but again we were rushed from our pizza delay. While waiting for me to come out of the restroom, my husband heard our tour guide tell the CocoAndre employees, "Let me know what you're having trouble selling and I'll pitch that as one of the best things to buy next time as the tours always buy what I recommend." Seriously? The last chocolate stop on the tour was the best, Kate Weiser Chocolates. Kate Weiser's shop is truly impressive, as are her hand painted chocolates. We each only got to taste one little piece of chocolate, which is what I had expected at each stop and was actually understandable given Kate Weiser chocolates sell for about $5 each. Had we had a bit more time there, I would've definitely bought something, but we were so rushed and crowded in the little store we didn't even try. Now the Christmas lights portion of our tour started. We stopped and got out at 2 houses in Park Cities. I asked our tour guide if we could have the drinks they advertised (and mentioned again in the confirmation email) would be included - wine, hot chocolate, soft drinks, etc. She said they had wine but they "hadn't packed anything else for her" so those of us who weren't interested in the wine were out of luck. I was very disappointed as otherwise I would've brought my own drinks (I'm 7 months pregnant so drinking the wine was out of the question). The others in my party tried the wine but received such small portions in Styrofoam cups it wasn't anything to get excited about. The Christmas lights portion of the tour was beautiful, but also a little disappointing. The tour advertised that we would see lights in several different parts of town, but really we just drove through downtown on our way to the Chocolate stops and then around Park Cities. The tour guide had the bus driver honk at a news truck stopped outside a home in Park Cities. It was after 10pm on a weeknight in one of the nicest neighborhoods in DFW - I doubt the neighbors appreciated the honking. Overall, the positives were the tastings at the chocolate shops and the convenience of not having to drive to see Christmas lights. The negatives were lack of advertised drinks, lack of advertised Christmas light stops, and an annoying tour guide who got distracted by pizza and, as a result, caused the rest of our tour to be rushed. All of us agreed we had a nice time, but definitely wouldn't pay to do another tour in the future, nor would we recommend it to others. read more

My family and friends (group of 16) did the Christmas Lights, Chocolate & Sips Tour in December. We all had a blast! This tour is definitely family friendly, took us to places in our own backyard that we have never been to and allowed us to all enjoy the lights of Dallas together. Note to future guests, the buses are actual buses, not a party bus with bench seating. We had a full bus, Rhonda made it fun and interactive. I'm already planning our next outing with Dallas by Chocolate for the tacos and margaritas tour. read more

This is a great tour company. Between me and my parents we have taken several tours and they have always been fun and tasty. I think they are a great value because you don't have to pay for parking in Dallas and are able to often bypass lines. These tours are great to help find hidden gems and try a variety of places in one go. read more

Bring your own fun! I recommend going in a group and planning a pre-party or after party. I read the reviews and I almost always trust Yelpers but the bf doesn't so we went. I was excited for a romantic tour of Christmas lights and chocolates. The lights were beautiful! It was nice to see the lights and not have to drive but that didn't make the whole thing worth the price. It didn't feel romantic. It was like they wanted to make a party on the bus but the party wasn't fun for everyone. The solution to everything was, "Drink more wine!" Had I come to drink or with my girls that might have been okay. I'd come with my boyfriend though and we weren't interested in living la vida loca! The night catered to the bunch of 7 who brought 4 or 5 of their own bottles of wine in addition to what was offered on the bus. I'm not hating on them! I just wasn't with them so it wasn't my kind of night. They were loud and ... loud during my romantic night out and the music on the bus was party music. All that to say, bring your own fun. I mean that if you want a romantic ride, you should get a big group together with similar interests and go...same if you want a fun party on wheels. This ride will be whatever you make it. They don't bring fun or entertainment. They bring a ride! We had chocolate but just a little. There were some good chocolates but nothing to write home about. We even went for ice cream as if my gloved hands really needed ICE cream. Perhaps go on a food (MEAT) tour and you MIGHT get your money's worth. read more
