Mercedes was an amazing tour guide. She's taught us so many things about our home time that we didn't know! It was fun to learn about our history and to experience spirits from the past! 100% would recommended doing this if your out of town or even if you live here! So much fun!!

The museum itself is well laid out. LOTS of information, photos and videos. I learned facts I hadn't previously known. It's been ten years since my visit and I'm back because Mrs. K. has never been here and I wanted her to see it. As I mentioned in my review from before, Dealey Plaza is up there with Times Square and Hollywood Boulevard. Yes, there are others including the National Mall, the Freedom Trail and Kennedy Space Center and the Grand Canyon, but this one is so visceral and so critical to the American experience that it should not be missed. Even for those of us who weren't born before 1963, it's still a critical part of our lives. We got our tickets from the desk, waited in the rope lines and were boarded onto the elevator at the designated time. Inside the museum, lots of crowds. They're doing what they can to balance the multitude of people who want to experience this with the desire of people to actually read the signs, displays and history of one of the most traumatic events in modern American history. It was simply too crowded. We spent about an hour trying to get between the bunches of folks between us and the artifacts, reading signs that explain the chronology of Kennedy's visit. It's much more than just that one day in November 1963, including history of Kennedy's election and why he came to Dallas to begin with. And yes, you can look out the window to see the "x" on the street where it happened. After that, the investigations, the conspiracies and all. All the physical evidence that exists in the American psyche. You'll enjoy the museum. The crowds? You'll just have to tolerate that part. I don't know that there's anything you can do about it. Besides being a park, it's a place where it holds special events throughout the year that may be worth checking out. The park has a free parking lot just off the to side and it is easily accessible. I appreciate that it also has a picnic area, garden areas, benches, water fountains (though I doubt anyone uses it), and restrooms. It is quite well maintained and a sweet spot in Dallas for some fun photos. A few historic buildings I visited include the Alamo Saloon, Blum Bro. General Store, and Renner School.
