In case you find yourself with nowhere to go during Oct-Dec hunting season with Allatoona Creek Park trails closed, come here as it stays open during those times. Spiffy new paved parking spaces greet you, with a practice bike ramp area, playground, and picnic tables and restrooms under a pavilion. It's a modern traveler's paradise. Well maybe.

The current playground is much larger, with a smaller playground for younger kids. They have also installed an active gaming system with poles in a circle. Kids can choose various games where they have to move around. Besides the playground, the walking trails are very scenic, with lots of tall trees, shrubs, creek, and even a railroad track nearby. The younger kids especially enjoying seeing the trains come by often. There are many squirrels that will likely approach you as people love to feed them. There is a seating area you can reserve and host birthday parties. Grills are also available. Right next door is another large venue where people have had weddings. They also built in two small dog parks, one for smaller sized dogs. There are two parking lots with plenty of parking. The park opens from sunrise to sunset.

This state park was a great find and only a 30 min drive from mid town. They had different trails for different levels of hiking. Our trail ran alongside the creek and we got to dip our legs in the water while others were swimming and tanning. If we weren't so tired we would have made a whole day of it!

It is very smart marketing but you should probably realize that your company's performance may be judged by the dog Park's quality. And with that said, they probably spent more on the signs than they did on the actual dog park. It is a couple hundred feet long and probably 20 to 30 ft wide. The day we were there it was mostly just a mud field. But it does have multiple poop bag dispensers as well as trash cans and it has a couple of fire hydrants. There is a double gated concrete entry area that is massive and has an exit into both the big and small dog park. There is a very nice concrete walking path that goes all the way around the dog park as well as multiple places to sit, some of them even have overhead coverings. There is a very nice water feature along the concrete path as well as a tremendous amount of biological landmines to make sure you stay on the concrete path! There are multiple agility items and the ground covering is mostly grass although there is some wood chip sort of stuff? You park right next to the dog park and the parking is more than ample.
