Two Napkins! I feel like royalty!

Southwest at Dallas Love Field is as good as it gets. The airport is spacious, the signage to get to your flight is amazing and the airport itself has lots of dining options (including Whataburger). The feel of the gate area is just more open and bright in comparison to a lot of other Southwest gates. And the southwest team is great about communicating the boarding process which is easy AF, but for some reason, people just don't get it. A is before B and C people!!! At least for now.

All the boarding changes you have made recently have absolutely, negatively affected me as a decades long A-list preferred client. I've flown millions of miles on Southwest for over 20 years with never a problem. It is now the worst f'ing airline I've ever been on. Changing carriers!

    NO WINDOW!

Do better Southwest. I paid extra to pick our window seat, and there is no window!!!!!!!

Just got my luggage back. It was damaged, looked like someone tried to claw their way in. Brand new suitcase checked at DAL without any damage. Called southwest and they told me to go back to STL to file a damaged bag report, even though it was declared damaged at DAL for some reason. They told me to go through a supervisor since the agent at STL told me they can't do it. So, we turned around and came back to this airport to talk to baggage claim support and they wouldn't file a report. The supervisor came and wouldn't do it for me. Now I'm left without a suitcase and no way to buy a new one. $50 voucher for Southwest won't get me a new suitcase back. Hope Southwest can get their stuff together!

It is exactly what you expect from Southwest. Not exceptional service. To get the better seats you pay $80 a piece, which we do because we want to sit by our carry ons. BUT flying into Dallas Love is a much better experience than DFW. Check out my Dallas Love review. Southwest has grumpy workers and unprofessional at the gate. I witnessed them talking to those around me. On the plane the service is professional and friendly.

Trash airlines had to wait and hour for a crew member... trash airlines trash pilots trash all around

Poring rain and everyone's luggage is getting wet and the bag handlers really don't care. The customers are getting screwed!

Baggage handlers are so lazy they throw the bags around, the have covers on the carts when it rains and they don't even use them. Sad group of employees! Carrie on when you fly!

This corrupted airline steals your money, they lowered the size of suitcases allowed to fit, forcing you to have to check them, and they don't respect your time constantly delaying flights and not giving you any update on what's going on do not fly on this airline ever, unless you want to miss a flight, and like to waste your time just sitting around

Southwest Airlines is usually a hit or miss. My overall experience is that they're mostly hits. There have been a few flight delays, but not bad, which is why I've flown with them more than any other airline in the last few decades. And I'm thankful for Southwest on this last run. Party of three layover at DFW with American Airlines. Thing is that connecting flight was cancelled (due to weather, not their fault) and the next available flight wasn't until the next day. No way in h377 I was gonna spend my 50th birthday night at the airport. I looked up MSY flights via Southwest and boom: score! Made that DFW-DAL Uber run to get on that flight. Came through with time to spare. Weather delayed our flight an hour, but we still arrived at our destination with plenty of time to start celebrating the birthday week! Whatever we paid for the flights was worth it. So yeah: Southwest saved the day! And they remain my preferred choice for travel...

They are currently in the process of fixing the issue. Our flight was expected to leave at 10:40. We got stuck on the plane in the heat for 30 minutes. Now we are waiting for the issue to be fixed in order to embark once again. Tentatively the airline stated that we should be boarding now but we still are awaiting. The staff on our flight were all nice and accommodating. They were also very hot and obviously have nothing to do with the issue. Hopefully this problem is fixed as soon as possible. We have a wedding to get to so hopefully everything isn't delayed any further. On July 1st our flight got delayed an entire 24 hours. We were issued a $12 food voucher and a hotel voucher that was actually a motel with a foul odor. The shower was disgusting as well. We ended up booking a different hotel out of pocket. We were told that our flight was re-scheduled for 11:15 am for July 2nd and that there shouldn't be any more issues. We were also told on July 1st that we can go down to baggage claim if we wanted our luggage and that it would be available in 30 minutes to an hour. Once we got downstairs they said our luggage was not available for another 30 minutes to 5 hours. The staff at American Airlines baggage claim were extremely rude and dismissive. We never ended up getting our luggage because they did not have an actual estimate of how long it would take. Day 2 of our flight being delayed. We arrived at the airport and it seemed like things were looking up. We get to the gate and are awaiting for everyone to be able to board. As we're waiting we're told once again today that our flight will be delayed 45 minutes now because the plane is having the same issues with the a/c not functioning. They also stated that it was a different plane, how can a totally different plane have the same issue occurring. It does not make any sense. Now the airline is saying that the plane is out of service. They stated that the plane is coming from the hangar and it will take 30 minutes. Out of no where they say that we have to go from Gate D33 to Gate D65. Now they are saying that we have to wait 6 hours for our new flight with a new plane. So instead of our 24 hour delayed flight leaving at 11:15 am, we are now scheduled to leave at 6:00 pm according to the updates we have received. I am extremely disappointed and do not ever want to fly with American Airlines again. We are flying to China for a wedding and have had to cancel multiple reservations that were made in advance and it's also looking like we are not going to make the wedding. This is absurd and has affected all of us traveling emotionally and physically.

Thus why am I flying spirit? My wife has a business meeting out here and her company put her on Delta with a $500 plus ticket. Spirit on the other hand, has a near identical flight itinerary that costs $170! United airlines was over 600 for a similar flight. Under these circumstances I'm going to bite the bullet, put a paper bag over my head with eye holes, poked out and fly spirit. I used to think spirit was a healthy cut below Southwest. And I detest and refuse flying Southwest. Why is that? The last time I flew spirit was LAX into Florida, at check-in. I had the most annoying counter staff in LAX. I mumbled and silently thought that never again, never ever ever will I fly spirit. Well, when I'm looking at over 600 bucks and getting close to 70% of a discount, then I'll try this spirit. Hold my breath and just suck it up while saving. Just under 450 bucks or a ton. I was careful too change everything from my usual baggage into something that qualifies for free Carry-on . I think it has to be 18 in by 14 by 8 in. My bag is a little bit smaller than that. I was careful this time to read the guidelines for how to fly spirit. I checked in online and printed my boarding pass with a redundant email copy of my boarding pass. Printing a boarding pass at the airport Might cost $25! So I found my experience at LAX check in, all the way through arrival and exit from DFW to have been surprisingly smooth. All of the spirits staff encountered were reasonably polite and efficient. The waiting area and my seat on the aircraft were clean and in good condition. What's not to like? There was no choice of seat location at my price level. No Roller aboard baggage without paying a fee. Shocking to me was even getting water on the aircraft in flight costs money! Fortunately being suspicious I brought an empty water bottle that I refilled on the inside past TSA. So I had water. What's not to like further ? I had a middle seat and something like row 28. Not the best and probably functionally one of the worst seats. The back of the seat was scalloped away with no entertainment system, no large fold down tray to work with or place beverages, food or whatever? On my right the window seat had a really overweight person, on the aisle seat to my left was kind of a normal guy who really kept to himself. Shockingly, I didn't have problems with either encroaching over the armrest invading my space. I was respectful of their space as well, no contact at the knees.. I found that I could extend my legs under the seat ahead of me. But I found I could not recline! So the seats were as unitarian and basic with actually just enough soft give and fabric to be okay. To be sure United seats are superior even in basic coach. I usually have premier Plus, and every now and then business class or Polaris. Spirit was not exactly the most comfortable, but it was actually a very acceptable experience. So why did I bestow four stars? In spite of all these points of weakness, the huge kicker was 70% savings on the price for solidly competent service, granted it's barely tolerable... But I am so impressed with 70% savings! It just floors me to save this much, which is really hard to get with United... Or any other full service major airline. So will I fly Spirit again? I guess I have to confess that it depends on the price differential. I am quite willing to pay 20% more to fly United. But I am not willing to pay 250% more versus another airline like spirit. Four stars with all of them essentially awarded for dominating on price!

Terrible customer service and misleading insurance process…read more I specifically purchased travel insurance that advertised the ability to cancel for any reason with an 80% reimbursement. I called on Tuesday regarding a flight scheduled for Friday. The live agent told me I had to cancel at least 24 hours before departure to qualify. Based on that, I was instructed to call back Thursday to process the refund. When I called back on Thursday, I was informed that I would only be eligible for a reservation credit, not a refund. This directly contradicted what I was previously told. I requested that they review or pull the recorded calls where I confirmed eligibility, but my concern was not addressed. The inconsistent information and lack of accountability made the process frustrating and misleading. This makes me afraid to use Spirit Airlines for traveling. Buyers should be very cautious and confirm all refund and insurance terms in writing before purchasing.
