Although we both have Global Entry, we were randomly selected to go through regular security screening. At first, we had no reason to question it. When we first approached the TSA PreCheck personnel, she told us that our digital boarding passes did not show PreCheck and that we needed to go through regular security. To save time, we went to the American Airlines desk and requested paper boarding passes. When we brought them back, the TSA personnel told us that she had just learned that we had been "randomly" marked for regular security screening. We then went to the regular security checkpoint, which had a much longer line and took approximately four times longer than the PreCheck line. When we finally reached the metal detectors, however, we were instructed to line up for the X-ray scanner instead. The woman directly in front of us was allowed to go through the regular metal detector, while we were directed to the scanner. Then, people behind us were also sent to the scanner, while other passengers were allowed to continue through the metal detector. At that point, we began noticing a very disturbing pattern. The people being held back and directed to the scanner appeared to be African American, Asian, or Hispanic, while the passengers being allowed through the metal detector appeared to be white. We understand that TSA screening can be random, but seeing this pattern unfold right in front of us was extremely difficult to ignore. It felt like blatant racial profiling. After this experience, I now question whether we were truly "randomly" selected in the first place. We have taken more than 10 flights since getting Global Entry, and this was the first time we were ever "randomly" selected for regular security screening. We genuinely believed it was simply a random screening until we experienced what happened at the security checkpoint. Because of the additional screening, we lost valuable time during our connection. We had only about 1 1/2 hours between flights, and by the time we finally cleared security, the boarding closing time printed on our boarding passes had just passed. We panicked and ran to the nearest American Airlines desk. Thankfully, a staff member checked our flight and kindly assured us that the flight was delayed and that boarding had just started. We then ran from Terminal D to Terminal B, including taking the airport train, and barely made it in time for boarding. We had no opportunity to use any of the airport amenities, restaurants, or shops, so unfortunately, we cannot comment on those. What we can comment on is how upsetting and unacceptable it was to feel that we were treated differently because of our race. No traveler should have to experience this. I sincerely hope DFW and TSA will look into how passengers are being selected and directed through these screening lines.

From there the trolley heads down Mckinney Ave to downtown and circling back by Klyde Warren Park. Easy to hop on and off as your night dictates, but important to know that they trolley will only stop if you are standing and waiting at the designated trolley stop. To exit simply ring the bell and the conductor will stop when available to do so.

When I traveled to Korea, I discovered that our 8-day English-language bus tour, K-Shuttle by US Travel, was a complete and utter mistake. The company was extremely unprofessional with low standards falling completely behind the quite luxurious and competent Korean bus tours, while it was even more expensive than Korean bus tours. The only reason this company is still in business is because travel agents like Nara Travel book passengers for them, because the agents are paid to do so. Every passenger on the tour was booked through an agent. My wife had booked the tour with the travel agent and had asked the travel agent for two things: 1. We NEEDED a big charter bus. My wife gets migraines if she rides in a bumpy car and gets carsick easily too. 2. We asked for all meals included, which is typical of Korean bus tours. The tour was not in a charter bus. Instead, they booked a small, rickety tour bus (very bumpy=lots of headaches) and dinner NOT was included. The "English speaking" tour guides were mediocre. Some of the bus drivers were completely incompetent. And the entire company seems shady. Not to mention, the tour voucher/itinerary that Nara Travel made for us did not even have the name of the company written on it - so that when we were trying to meet up with our tour at the very beginning, we were at the meetup spot but didn't know the name of the company we were looking for. That was Nara's fault. Nara travel did not fulfill our requests or book a company that we would be happy with. My wife does speak fluent Korean, and we could have taken a Korean bus tour instead if we knew what we were in for. When my wife confronted our travel agent with these mistakes, she didn't really seem to care or acknowledge them, much less apologize. At the middle of the tour, we had a flight from mainland Korea to an island, which was booked by Nara Travel. Our flight was booked several hours later than the rest of our tour group's, so we missed one of the tour attractions because we were waiting for three hours in the airport. The hotel that Nara travel booked for us, City Co-Op in Seoul, was okay. It was located a 15 minute walk uphill from the nearest metro station. We ran into a few other snags, which I guess is understandable given that it was a budget hotel, but I still could not recommend the hotel. I trusted Nara Travel to fulfill our specific requests and book travel and accommodations that we would be happy with. They did not.

The shuttle runs from 10 am to 8 pm from Thursday - Saturday and from 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday and makes six regular stops plus a few by request only every hour. As we approached downtown Grapevine, our driver carefully pointed out all of the various bus stops where he'd stop for us. He was right on time when we decided it was time to head back to the hotel. The bus was comfortable, and our driver was a real pro.

Thank goodness for Skylink!…read more If you ever traveled through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) you would be amazed at the shear size of this airport. This morning when I was catching my flight home, I swear my flight was leaving from Terminal C, but when I checked in at American Airlines at DFW, my actual flight was leaving from Terminal A. What to do??? Skylink my friends....... Just watch for the signs within the airport terminal for the Skylink, take the escalator up to the top of the airport terminal and jump on the orange rail thingy. The Skylink rail car does have a few seats, but it's mostly for riders to stand. Using Skylink rail is a very convenient way to get around this massive airport, especially if you're in a rush to navigate between the airport terminals.
