Older Marriott property. Rooms could use some upgrading and modernization. Looks like this is the hub for flight crews coming in for an overnight stay -- saw tons of flight attendants and pilots checking in and out during my stay. There is a restaurant and bar located on the lobby of the first floor but I didn't get a chance to try anything because it was always too busy. Front desk staff were a hit or miss. At check in, the gal wasn't very hospitable but as I requested for things throughout the week -- other Guest Service Representatives were more pleasant. Valet team were glued to their phones. Not very much oversight for professionalism there. Didn't see security patrolling the property after 9pm but then again -- the elevators require a key card to head upstairs to guest rooms. Probably wouldn't be my first choice for a Marriott property the next time I'm in Dallas.

When I first entered this hotel I was kindly greeted by Patricia who was very sweet. I asked if I could be put into a city view room and she made that possible. When I entered my room one of the first things I noticed was a pair of eyelashes that were on the connecting room doorknob. I was disgusted and perplexed as to how housekeeping missed this because it wasn't hard to notice. I called the front desk and initially told Jason about it who gave me an attitude so I asked for a manager. Tanya offered a me a suite, points and a voucher to the restaurant. I asked if there were any suites on the level I was currently on or higher. She put me on hold to check but there were only suites on the 5th and 6th floor so I asked to just be put in another city view room on my level. She told me someone would be up to put me in my new room. I gathered my stuff and waited outside of my new room for quite some time so I called front desk to ask when someone would be up to put me in my new room because I've been waiting awhile. They told me wait a few minutes and someone would be up. Jason comes to put me in a new room but guess what it was to a room not facing the city so at this point I'm upset because what is going on. I told Jason I was supposed to be in a city view room, he told me to just come downstairs. I go back to the front desk and I told Tanya at this point just put me in a suite because this is just too much. All of a sudden there are no suites available so she said I can talk to her manager Don about it. Don and I had a debate about the issue but in the end he put me in a suite and gave me access to the M club on the 16th floor. I was satisfied but when I went into my new room and used the bathroom it was extremely loud afterwards for a lengthy duration so I called front desk to send the engineer to check the toilet. The engineer came in and turned the water pressure down so it wouldn't be as loud and I asked him if there was something wrong with the toilet he said no all toilets make noise. Well all toilets clearly don't make loud noises like that otherwise I wouldn't have called about it! The toilet wasn't as bad as before so I figured I could survive the rest of my stay. Well the next day I use the bathroom and it starts making this clicking noise and doesn't stop. At this point I'm bewildered because why is this even happening. When I was heading out for the day I stopped by front desk and was greeted by Dakota who was just so wonderful and accommodating. He acknowledged that he valued me and put me in another suite and was going to have another engineer check out the toilet. I asked if it was possible to be put in a better suite because at this point there were far too many issues that I've been dealing with. He said he could check and asked his manager David Range to come over. Now David came and just blew things out of proportion. He was so rude and mean! He refused to listen to me and kept cutting me off every time I spoke. He said he wouldn't change my room since I've been moved 4 times and threatened to check me out the hotel. He claimed I was causing problems and I told him it's not my fault the rooms had issues! He was so awful to me so I recorded him so people can hear how bad his customer service is! He called security on me and it was Jeremiah who came down and actually listened to what was going on and assured I wouldn't be kicked out. Dakota sent a engineer up to my room and I left for the day hoping the toilet would be fixed. When I came back later that evening I updated Marcel at the front desk about this situation who was so nice and said if the toilet was still messed up he'd accommodate me. Luckily it wasn't so I was able to stay in my room. Overall because of my uncomfortable experience with David I would never stay here again. Between that and witnessing a cook make food with no gloves while touching his phone this place just isn't worth it. It's sad because I really liked most of the staff here.

We stayed here for one night as a local-get-out-of-the-house-vacation. I had never stayed here before and frankly I don't even remember seeing it although it is right there, prominently located on Pearl St., not far from the Farmer's Market, Arts District, and KWP. The location cannot be beat, it is a few minutes walk to the park, restaurants, the Arts District, and so much more. I was hesitant to give it 5 stars because that is what I gave to JW Marriott which is just a few streets away. JW is pure luxury and this Downtown Marriott is not really luxury, but it is a very nice hotel. In the end, I decided to give it 5 stars because there was absolutely nothing wrong with our stay. Check in was easy. The receptionist accommodated my request to be away from the elevator and on the Plaza side, not the street side. I don't know for sure but I can imagine that the street side could be noisy at night. Our room was clean and nicely laid out. The shower was gorgeous and had a very cool shower head with great water pressure. The beds were, as usual at Marriott, very soft and comfortable. We had a queen and king and you sort of melt into them. Loved the soft pillows. The carpet was in good shape. We did not have much of a view but the room was super quiet. Overall, it met the standards that we have come to expect from Marriott. One unique feature that I never saw before was the elevator to your room. You scan your room key to a reader then enter the floor into a keypad, which then tells you which elevator will be yours. The system works well in general but can be get congested when there are a lot of people at once. Valet was efficient. They took my car immediately when we arrived and had it ready when I checked out. It is a bit pricey at $50 for overnight. There is cheaper self-parking nearby but I did not want to walk and was not sure how safe the area was. When doing the local vacation downtown thing, we usually like to stay at JW Marriott, but this Marriott hotel was very nice and a lot cheaper than JW. I would definitely consider staying here again.

While in Dallas for a recent work event, I stayed at the Dallas Marriott Downtown as it is connected to the Chase Tower which made my daily commute very convenient. The hotel is attached to the older Plaza of the Americas as well which is nice if you need access to a food court during your lunch hour. The hotel itself is updated and nice and also has a good bar/restaurant with in it. If you are a bonvoy member with a higher level of status, they also have an excellent executive lounge which offers breakfast, evening appetizers and desserts at no charge - and the food options are pretty good. The gym is unfortunately not the best and has limited options. The staff is also very nice and happy to help with anything I needed. I would definitely stay here again when in Dallas for work but would make sure to have an alternative option for working out.

Stayed here while in Dallas for a wedding, nice hotel in good area close to many attractions. My room was nice and spacious and I opted go get a king room with a balcony and I highly recommend the king room with a balcony because they are in the interior of the hotel. With the hotel being connected to a business center and office spaces there is a food court atrium. Not many food places and the ones that are there were average. The restaurant inside the hotel was good for breakfast but dinner time was really busy and the drinks were expensive. There is valet parking at the hotel but there is also a parking lot across the street for half the price. I would stay here again just because the room was so nice.

I had a room overlooking the business atrium. You cannot tell day from night. Although very quiet, if I open my blinds I can look into a conference room and office and they can see straight into my room. The hotel room is spacious and clean. There was a maintenance issue with my toilet. I could hear it running in the hallway before I opened the door. It took maintenance approximately twenty minutes to repair before I could get settled in my room. The drain seems to be plugged in the bathroom sink. Food options are limited in the hotel and neighboring atrium.

I stayed for a Friday night for $180, not terrible, not great, but the friendly and generous check in lady let me check in early at 11:30am, thank you! Great hotel overall, Marriot is always reliable. I could easily stay here again if I'm ever in Dallas again. PROS: -Nice common areas -Big, clean, spacious modern room and bathroom -Fridge -Coffee Maker -Giant TV -Walking distance to museums and restaurants. -Right next to the DART tram station -Friendly Staff all around CONS: -Valet Parking only = $$$$

Decent enough hotel with good access to downtown offices but has opportunities for improvement. Arrived late due to a delayed flight and then had to deal with a prolonged check-in process in the middle of the night. Part of my room was updated and part not so much. Also my room had a loud A/C and really annoying loud plumbing especially noticeable in the night. Lastly, there was no drinking water in the room, and no vending machine on the 5th floor either, making me go to the front desk and pay $4.50 for a bottle of water. I'll be going back soon but not looking forward to staying here again!

I loved everything about this hotel. The lobby area is very large and I was greeted from the moment I walked in and throughout my stay. The check in process was seamless as usual especially since I was able to mobile check in and the person at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Although there are instructions by the elevator, I was confused at first, but figured it out pretty quickly that all you needed to do was swipe your hotel key card, then enter your floor number on the keypad and it told you what elevator (A-D) to go to get to your floor. Good security measure for the hotel rooms. The rooms are very clean, modern and spacious. Had lots of outlets and USB outlets which is much needed for all my electronics. Room has large flat screen TV with Netflix streaming. Bed was super comfy. Room has a refrigerator, nice sized desk area, lots of lighting in the room and bathroom. Also having a full sized mirror is always a plus. Bar and restaurant area had lots of seating. Attached to the hotel are several stores and restaurants so even if you didn't want to technically leave the hotel you didn't have to. If you want to venture out there are tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance and if you want to be a little adventurous or just want to get there quicker without driving there are scooters everywhere. There is a charge for valet but not a surprise since it's Downtown Dallas.

Came here for business trip. Stayed for 14 days…read more Coworkers recommended this location as it sits in Downtown Dallas. The hotel is nice, however outside the hotel it's not nice. There's lots of homeless people outside and not safe in my opinion. Just beware when booking. There wasn't many highly rated restaurants near Omni hotel, had to drive to places. They also host lots of events outside the hotel on their lawn. Hotel is nice. Staffs are super polite and trained. Everything is clean and super decorative. Hotel has restaurants on the first floor, they have small pool, small gym, and spa which you have to pay for. I stayed for two weeks and needed my clothes washed. The hotel does have a service where they send it out to get it washed. But it was insanely expensive. To wash a shirt was around $10. It would have cost me like $150-$200 for a week worth of clothes. I drove 20 min to the nearest coin laundry and spent couple dollars. Would love to see coin laundry in the hotel. Gym: The gym has dumbbells that only go up to 75lb. No barbells. The machine to do back, arms, etc were uncomfortable to use. Pool: Pool is on the same floor as the gym. Can see downtown Dallas. I think it's infinity pool(?) but it's pointing to the hotel building rather than facing downtown Dallas. Room: Room was super nice. The A/C is amazing, works very well. As soon as I got back to room, I set room to 62F. Then to 68F when i got cold. I stayed for 14 days and found out on my last day that there's a fridge hidden in the cabinet. I was super upset about that. The soaps, shampoo, etc are nice. The staff gives you new set even if you are using them and not empty. Price: My rate was $170 through business portal. So probably cheaper. For 14 days (13 nights), I paid little over $3000 due to various taxes and parking your rental car is like $30(?) a day. Really nice hotel, fast elevators, has gym/spa, near freeway and in Downtown Dallas. I just didn't like the environment as soon as you leave the hotel, feels unsafe.

The reservation required prepayment, was nonrefundable, just shy of $5k per night and required additional paperwork. This was my second time reserving this room in the past year. I flew in from Fort Lauderdale, stayed in a smaller suite the first night. The following morning, I was informed that the penthouse would not be available because the current occupant had an emergency and the hotel "was obligated" to allow them to remain. I was moved to a different penthouse, given a significant discount, and treated professionally by management. However, the issue was never the discount. The issue was that the accommodation I specifically selected, prepaid for, and planned my trip around was not honored. The Loft Penthouse was nice. The staff was courteous. But after traveling from Florida for a once-in-a-lifetime reunion, I left with the understanding that even a prepaid, nonrefundable reservation for a specialty suite may not actually be secure. That's something future guests should know when making their plans. What troubles me most is that this occurred during the FIFA Club World Cup, when Dallas was hosting numerous athletes, celebrities, executives, sponsors, and VIP guests. While I have no way of knowing who remained in the penthouse, it is difficult not to notice that a reservation I made nearly two weeks in advance, prepaid in full, and completed additional paperwork for was the reservation that was displaced. If the Penthouse and Loft Penthouse were truly equivalent accommodations, there should have been no issue relocating the guest who extended their stay to the Loft Penthouse rather than relocating the guest who had prepaid for the Penthouse nearly two weeks in advance. The partial refund that was offered, does not restore the experience that I booked and planned around. What I experienced was unfulfillment of a contractual obligation from the hotel's end while I kept my end of the contractual obligation. We had a broken, blinking Neon sign, a wobbly ceiling fan, broken blinds, matchbooks full of phone numbers, an unfinished manuscript, an ashtray full of cigarettes, and a dead body in the tub. Not really. But we did have a giant seven foot "desk lamp", a paintbrush and frame above our bed, and and a carpet made from Hamlet quotes in Room 704. Dining: Hamilton's is the main on-site restaurant and bar, with a host or hostess in the lobby smiling at us when we walked in. Taco Enzo and Kolache Korner are in the refurbished shipping containers in the massive parking lot. The lobby store is small and not cheap but it beats a vending machine, especially if you want an ice cream sandwich or fingernail clippers. The "South Beach" pool is saltwater, so it's softer on the skin, eyes, and hair and avoids red eyes, green hair, and pool smell. Location: Though the Cedars district is the industrial historic heart of the Dallas arts scene, it's a bit gritty and has *freeway noise*, with gentrification friction, being a patchwork of high-end luxury lofts sitting right next to dilapidated industrial warehouses, making it feel half vibrant but half abandoned. The Walkability Score is 73, thanks to massive railroad tracks, the I-30, current construction, and inconsistent sidewalks. Be warned this isn't a tree-lined, window-shopping destination like Uptown or Bishop. Finding food, a drink, and even a movie will be much easier than groceries or a pharmacy (though drugs is a different story). Service: Everyone was awesome, especially Precious, who was, like her name Precious. That explains why they don't hire Dicks.

About the Hotel I don't know the history of the hotel but I can tell it's a well kept older hotel. I like how they kept some elements of its legacy. It included a king bed, 2 large side tables, a round bistro table with one chair, a large flat screen TV above a long counter to drop some of your stuff onto. It had a large wardrobe for hanging clothing plus a valuable safe. It had a bar with glassware and coffee service (Keurig). The bathroom was spacious and functional, though the sliding entry door did leave a large gap, taking a bit of privacy away from the commode area. If there was a con for this room, I'd say it was lighting and lack of outlets on one side of the bed. The room did have lighting, but it was very dim. Convenience We really loved the location of the Saint Elm. It was nearly next door to the Majestic Theater where we were going for a concert. It's walking distance to some great restaurants and sights. We'd stay at the Saint Elm again.

It was a hassle trying to keep water from wetting the floor while showering. Also, there is too much space under the doors in each room. This interrupted my sleep and comfort zone due to hearing too much noise in the hallway. Overall, staff were great. The lobby decor is upscale, vintage, and bright. I'd recommend this hotel. The location is a bonus, and is within walking distance of local attractions and Deep Ellum.

Very unwelcoming and unfriendly interactions from all hotel workers except the valet person who was upbeat and nice. The rest of the staff is robot like with no personality or care in the world. The booking website promotes this gorgeous rooftop view of downtown Dallas's skyline and I was excited for that. The rooftop was closed both days of my stay. No notice or anything. This was my main draw to selecting this property. The air conditioner is only "allowed to" go down to 68 degrees. Sick of this save the planet aka save their money cooling restrictions. Is it really worth saving 50 cents a night to not allow your guests to sleep cool? The thick bedding / sheets are not breathable and I had a hard time sleeping. Only after I asked to check out early did they miraculously "get approval" to remotely reduce the room temperature by 2 degrees. What a joke. $350/night for a Holiday Inn level staffing and guest experience. The only good thing about this place is the location. Other than that I'll save my money and stay somewhere else where I'm valued.

A special shoutout to the doorman/valet, Stacey. He truly goes above and beyond. He was incredibly friendly, hospitable, and respectful, and made us feel like family right away. He set the tone for our entire stay and was easily one of the highlights of our visit. Thank you for always checking in on us each time we saw you and for sharing fun suggestions that made our Dallas experience even better. We hope you see this review because you made such a lasting impression on our trip. We also hope the hotel knows what a true treasure they have in you.

We called to see if they had a crib since we had our young daughter and they assured us they did. On arrival they said they didn't have one and they only had 3 for both hotels in the building. So we had to door dash a pack and play. Super frustrating, we would've chose a different hotel if they were up front to begin with about not having any availability for the crib. The hotel was run down. Stains on the carpets and on the chair in the room as seen in photos. Room was big but set up kinda awkward. TV wasn't working either just was to the point where we went to bed instead. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was forced upon me.

Its time for "Story-time with Adam Cole Baby" (don't sue me TK, I'm working class and can't afford the lawyers) The TLDR: This is a serviceable hotel with great front desk and that's about it. I wouldn't feel comfortable with any single female friends/family to stay there by themselves. The very first interaction I had in Dallas, the VERY FIRST was a *ahem* "lady of the night as I was getting out of my Lyft and approaching the front doors of the hotel. She walked directly in my path, looked me in the eye, and with no warning said: "For $50 you can do whatever you want to my asshole" Do you know how hard it is to make me speechless? I muttered and stuttered my way past the woman to check in. Homeless people and working girl are a REAL problem here. In my eight days there every time I left the hotel I ran into one group or the other, some times both. I check in, go to my room, do a quick inspection and in the shower I find.....black mold!!!! An easy enough fix I think, I go downstairs report it to the front desk, go off to the market for supplies, and come back. The front desk guy tells me that he's made a concoction of sorts that gets rid of mold and he's left it in my room for me to apply it in the shower. A VERY WTF moment!! Bro I don't work here, and don't know enough about this chemistry experiment you've cooked up. I go back downstairs and they finally give me a new room. I'm not much of a complainer and I have a clean new room so let's just sleep and see what the next day bring. I wake up and decide to hit the breakfast. I grab some undercooked bacon and potatoes, as I'm grabbing juice I notice the employees were closing everything down (five minutes early but I get it) the really weird/annoying thing was that they were turning the lights off on all the people still eating. It felt like last call at a seedy dive bar. Like I said, I understand wanting to go home but turning the lights out on your guests was a complete and utter FAIL. My last notch in the complain column is that the building itself could really use some attention. When it was raining the ceiling by the front door was flooding like a TLC song. The elevators never seemed clean either. So if I'm going all Final Justice on my review why did I give it a three star and not a one? All the positives come from the front desk agents. Jasmine was the best agent I've had the pleasure to deal with in almost a decade. She was warm, welcoming, and quick as a whip. Every day that I came downstairs she had a different suggestion on where I should go and what I should eat. Honestly if I was building a management team from the ground up, I would poach Jasmine in a heartbeat. So yes on the strength of one employee a hotel gained two stars. Otherwise I can't really recommend stay here until they make some major changes
