This is an odd thing to write a review about, I agree. And I can only rate it as A-OK, because…read morewho wants to talk about a cemetery as being " as good as it gets" or even " I am a fan". I am typically not a big fan of these spots. I don't, in the event, choose to be buried. Although I love exploring old pioneer cemeteries-- in the 1980's I located two of them in the Auburn, CA foothills that had great-great grandparents graves, so that was pretty amazing. I felt the need to write this, 4+ months after my mother's burial here, because it's been on my mind due to 1) the terrible weather in the Portland area 2) my mother being left all alone up there now that my step-dad moved to CT. Those are hard things for me to get past. I have planned on making a trip up there in the spring to visit the site & plant flowers for all seasons. So that helps to make me feel better. But I wanted to relate something special about this place. As we were driving to the site of the burial ceremony we passed a sign, going in our direction, for the Pet Cemetery. How unusual. Then we entered the pet cemetery & just on the other side was my mother's plot. We all had a good happy moment , thinking how appropriate it was, my mom the consummate pet lover, to be here. If I believed in ghosts, I could see her visiting each little marker & greeting each pet. It was a happy thought at a sad time. Take a second & look at the photo of the Pet Gate -- it's really nice.

My only complaint would be that my loved one died on a Saturday morning. I tried to contact them on Sunday during business hours and spoke with someone who said a funeral director would call me back, but no one did. However, once I called on Monday and spoke directly with a funeral director, everything proceeded smoothly from there. All the paperwork is done on-line. Their prices are good, a big part of this is likely because the office on Millikan (in the City Hall Building in the Beaverton Round) is apparently just a small office with low overhead. The cremation is done through Riverview Abbey. It was done quickly and I was able to pick them up at the Millikan office (you can also pick up at Riverview Abbey). They can mail them to you as well. Obtaining death certificates through them was also easy, as was getting an obituary posted to their website. They are very professional, responsive, and happy to help.

My dad was a Buddhist, and the funeral home worked tirelessly to find a suitable person to perform the ceremony. When they noticed that the service and item we had initially quoted had increased in price, they promptly contacted me to inform me of the change. They negotiated with the broker to secure a price close to the original quote and updated their service costs accordingly. Every person we spoke with was empathetic and generous in spirit. Losing a parent is incredibly difficult, and the shock of it all can leave everyone reeling. Despite the intense details we required for the final rites before cremation, Weddle Funeral Service handled everything with care, ensuring that every request was met perfectly and coordinating the spiritual services seamlessly. I hope you never have to experience the loss of a loved one, but if you do, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Weddle Funeral Service will guide you gently through the process with an emotional intelligence that I remain grateful for to this day.
