They were climbing under the house trying to find a clogged filter (that doesn't exist). Lee Davidson came out, did diagnostics, found the clogs and did the repairs efficiently and skillfully. Then I found out that he had actually installed it years earlier. So if you have a boiler, don't call a plumber or a heating company, call Davidson (they're both), that's my advice. He also came out at night and made sure we didn't have to sleep in the cold.

All the other companies do not even want to take a look at repairing my fireplace. They all want to replace it. Joel and Wizard's talked to me about evaluating the fireplace before any recommendations. Wow! What a refreshing experience. Joel did a thorough job at looking at all the parts of the fireplace. This is the second time Jason has been here and he is very good. My complaint comes with the fee charged $497 for a 45 minute job. This was up $130 from last year which was up over $100 from the year before!! I'm a 70 year old widow. They don't offer a Senior discount but when I called I was informed that had I had the job done between Memorial day and Labor day I would have gotten a 10% discount. Company name: One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating (also operates under the name Benjamin Franklin Plumbing) Description of event: My thermostat at my rental property was not working. I called and scheduled these guys to come out. They in fact came to my property and got my thermostat to working condition. The only thing that was wrong was a blown 3 amp fuse (see pictures). They replaced this fuse and charged me $122 JUST FOR THE FUSE (see copy of invoice). I was also charged for the service call. Never once was it explained to me what was wrong before they changed the fuse and just charged me for it. I'm totally fine with paying for services rendered and the service call but to be charged $122 for a fuse that costs approximately three dollars is ridiculous and in my opinion unethical. I called and spoke with somebody in charge at the office (Leslie) and she explained "this is their standard rate for this part." I am posting this to warn everybody of their unethical business practices and charges. Hopefully my bad experience will steer you clear and you won't have to experience the same. Please feel free to share this post so that others are warned.
