Had a relatively simple repair for a leak/drip. Our house is 40 years old. The repair involved replacing a ball in the tub fauset. It required a "tub/shower kit that fit a delta with stainless steel ball single lever. The kit did not include a required screw. The plumber did not have a screw that fit. We had 2 choices - pay while the plumber went to get a screw or pay and go to Home Depot and get the screw and finish the job ourselves. We chose the later. This scenario would be like a hairdresser who had to go to the beauty supply to get the right hair color while you are waiting in the salon. I have used Mountian High for a few years but I'll never use them again. I had them come out for 2 simple things that I use to do myself. To clean out the sink drain and to fix the drain stopper. It took two weeks for a one hour job. I had to call them (the owner) several times to finish the job. When they finally finished the job I had to call them back out because he (the owner) did the repair wrong. They couldn't show up at the agreed upon times and never called. The only one that did their job was the person answering the phone. She seemed to be embarrassed at the whole thing. When your self employed it's imperative to learn from your mistakes. Mountain High of Flagstaff AZ. glued the sink to the counter top. Several years ago I was replacing my bathroom drop-in sink, faucet, and valves, but ran into a problem I couldn't solve so I called Mountain High. They finished the installation. However, I have never been happy with the sink, so I decided to replace it, but when I tried to remove it it wouldn't budge. So, I got under it and pounded it with a rubber mallet and it still wouldn't budge. So I called Mountain High here in Flagstaff and spoke to a plumber who told me they use Liquid Nails as a sealant for the sinks they install. Liquid Nails it is not a sealant, it is a permanent bonding agent for which there is no solvent. So, apparently, any sink installed by Mountain High can never be replaced without also replacing the counter-top. FYI The problem I couldn't solve: When I tried replacing the existing shutoff valve with a quarter-turn valve the collar wouldn't come off the copper cold water line no matter how much WD40 I used. Finally I called Mountain High and the problem was solved in three seconds with a piece of emory cloth to remove the slight burrs on the copper line that I hadn't noticed. They left our water off and when we called to ask about it, they said my family were drunks who they didn't want to deal with. Totally unprofessional and no one had been drinking. I came back from a 3 week trip to Phoenix. No hot water and it was 35 degrees. I called Mountain High and from the moment the dispatcher answered, I was treated with professionalism and kindness. Tony was the service technician and called me twice to check in. I was able to get the matter resolved before Tony arrived. He was glad it was taken care of and offered to help anytime in the future. Was told running late on previous job and would be there in 10 mins. 30 mins later (45 mins past agreed time) CALLED A SECOND TIME to inquire ETA was told would there in 10 mins, I said that is what you said last time... left house after waiting for 15 more mins and was called 10-15 mins after I left asking where I was. Lazy! Unprofessional! Inappropriate! This company claims to have 24 hour emergency services. The reception/ dispatch person was excellent and realized that my fiancé was in distress when all our toilets and plumbing decided not to work. This happens outside of normal business hours. However, once we did get to talk to a Tech on the phone... CHRIS was condescending, snobbish and refused services without explanation because we didn't know if our house was a "sewer clean." CHRIS was so inappropriate that when asked his last name for reporting purposes he proceeded to laugh at my fiancé in a snarky tone. CHRIS claimed that his last name was CHRIS, and continued to refuse services. CHRIS took complete advantage of our desperation and proceeded to claim they would not come out until Tuesday. I take it that CHRIS was simply too lazy to get off his rear end and do his job, but he answered the phone, so no one can claim that they're not open 24 hours. If I could give this company a zero I would. The level of unprofessionalism is on a level I have never experienced before. On day one that our toilet stopped working we called a plumber out and he told us we needed to replace a part and he would order it and have it in by Monday. When I followed up on Monday, I was informed that plumber from Saturday did not order the part. They then asked for us to send a picture of the part to them via text. We explained we did not know exactly which part is the issue, but we sent a couple of pictures. The plumber said that he could work with the pictures we sent. He ordered the part and would install it that Wednesday. On Wednesday the plumber came and said he ordered the wrong part because he "guessed" on what we needed and guessed wrong. When asked why he guessed when he had the pictures from us, he said the pictures were not helpful. I don't understand why he would not have told us at the time on Monday instead of guessing or moreover, come to the house and see the part for himself (and I should let people know that this company installed the piece not even 6 months ago, so they have the documentation of the piece and we reminded them of this since day one, but they could not be bothered to take the time to look it up). He ordered the piece and came on Friday to install it. On that Friday, 6 days into not having a single toilet in my house, the plumber came. He tracked sewage from his boots all over my area rug despite having more than one way around the rug. I then had to get my rug professional cleaned. He asked to use a towel to pick up some of the sewage, but then I discovered he left the dirty towel in the corner of the bathroom. He did not remove it with his waste. He left my bathroom a disgusting mess that required me to use bottles of bleach to clean. We tried to resolve this issue directly with the company and we were treated with such disrespect from the manager and the woman who answers the phone. At no time did we ask for anything more than to have our concerns validated and they were incapable of doing so. This company and their lack of professionalism is disgusting. I called Mountain High Plumbing to repair a dripping outdoor faucet. Mike was very pleasant and personable. He explained each step of the way what he had to do. The pipe had to be accessed under my kitchen sink, but the crazy homebuilder dry-walled over it. Mike had to cut out a section of drywall and did a nice job of it. We were able to put it back in place in one piece. There wasn't enough room in the wall (between studs and pipes) to solder the pipe, so Mike had another solution that worked without soldering. He knew what he was doing and worked quickly. I would use them again. read more

Terrible company. Charged $105 for a five minute consultation which said they couldn't do anything without putting in a whole new gas line. When questioned about the bill, they said they charge that for 5 minutes or one hour and that other plumbers charge the same --- which is far from true. This company came to our house and did not test anything but told us we needed to replace the entire suction side of the water pump and possibly the entire system as well. I put my trust in this company, thinking they would help me out. I listened to the instructions from what I thought was a respected company and took off my day of work and spent eight hours digging up the suction side of the pump. As I reached the tank realized it wasn't the suction water line and thought it was the tank which would've cost thousands to replace. As a precaution I called out another company to look at the issue. They came to my house looked at the pump, put some pipe dope on the fittings replaced 2 hose clamps primed the pump and it was fixed... all that work for nothing. Just another company trying to take advantage of people who work hard for their money. read more

I was overcharged for parts and charged for work that was not required. The worker did not know how to fix my problem, so he did something that made the problem worse. Also, he spent many hours trying to find the problem, but could not. I hired another firm to fix the problem. I could have taken my family on a 2 week cruise for the extra money that I was overcharged--several thousand dollars. The owner of the this firm said that he had been in business for 30 years so he could be trusted. To his credit, he did try to fix the problem, but did not, and the problem that he was attempting to fix was caused by his worker's mistake. read more

My problem was (and continues to be) a leak from the plastic spigot of our hot water heater. The fellow who came out looked at the hot water heater and tried to close the valve by hand, as if I hadn't done this yet. When that did work, he left to get a cap, came back 30 minutes later and tried to screw the cap on the end of the spigot. He then determined that the plastic was stripped and left without any further guidance. I received a bill for $95 (Labor only) and an additional $5 for "FSC". $100 to literally do nothing. That is pretty unacceptable. read more
