It is a little out of the the way but the food is great and worth the trip. Parking is always easy , the food is fresh . I would highly recommend going .

AMAZING food. The brisket melted in your mouth. The pulled pork was great. Was given a sample of the hot wing the wings were just the right hot. And tasted the chili. Omg. Cannot wait to go back. Located behind the Mobil and bp by 94 and 367 light. Will be back soon.

BBQ with options for everyone, burgers and bratwurst too! Sides are very good, coleslaw, baked beans and grilled potatoes. If your on the way north to IL from St. Louis, stop in West Alton on the east side of the highway. BBQ that will not disappoint your tastebuds! Owners are great stewards of their craft and are at the ready to serve you. Nice area with tent and tables, I always ask to still with others to enjoy good food and meeting new people. Seating and area is under the protection of the tent. Address to drive to Dam-It Joe's, 124 Richard Drive, West Alton. Or use the WAZE link I pasted below to get you there! https://waze.com/ul/h9yzv4fqwf

The smokers and food trailer. Everything we tried was delicious.

Driving through we saw a tent and food trailer. The food was so good! The best burnt ends, and best wings and sides (the smoked dices potatoes are to die for not to mention the baked beans and coleslaw). They were pet friendly offering water and bringing a hot dog for our dog.. Everyone is great and the atmosphere inviting. This place is a must if you are in St. Louis.

When I read some of these Saint Louis area reviews on food trucks, I laugh because a lot act like…read morethe food trucks just came this area around 6 years ago and it's a new hip thing. I also have to remind myself that a lot of the people saying this in their reviews may not originally be from the St Louis area (which is ok) or they have grown up in an area in St Louis that never had them. As far as I can remember, there were food trucks around my way back in the early 1980's. However, when I talk to the old heads, they go even further back to the 1960's in St Louis (and again that all depends on where you lived). So while the industry itself is not new to Saint Louis, my food experience with Street life is. When the Street Life truck pulled up at my location, I decided to do something I never do: try an oyster po'boy sandwich other than my mother's. ) It's just something I never would do, until now and wow the oysters were fried to a caramel brown perfection. The roll was fresh and nicely toasted. The pickles onions and aioli sauce complemented the fried oysters extremely well.  Fries were hot and crispy. The staff was courteous and nice. The wait time was about 10 minutes. 5/5 If the Street Life truck is ever in your vicinity, don't act brand new... Check them out!!!

Then they add a runny egg, fries, sriracha aioli, and pepper Jack cheese. This is the best messy burger I have had in a long time. The staff was nice and it did not take them long at all to make my burger fresh. There is no frozen patty over here at this food truck.

This was the most disappointing food experience in a long time for me. These guys are NOT ready for the lunch rush at 9 Mile Garden. After waiting about 20 minutes in line, I finally ordered an Original Cheeseburger with ONLY Bacon and Cheese + Seasoned Fries. Their were a lot of people standing around complaining about the wait time, so I was a bit concerned, but figured I'd give it a try anyway. Somehow a lady that was behind me in line, got her food before 6 or 7 people that were in FRONT of me. This truck is mainly burgers and fries, pretty simple, so I don't know what's up with that, but it made several people angry. After about a 30 minute wait, they finally called my number, and I took my food home and eat, hoping after all that wait, at least the food would be good. NOPE! Order was wrong, burger had everything on it. Fries were completely soggy. Burger overcooked, dry. Ended up throwing a little of the burger and most of the fries away. On top of that, it was almost $14!!! I don't get it. If these guys can make it in this business, then I guess anyone can... I can get a better burger almost anywhere else, at about half the price.
