Let me just say--the pork steak was hands down the most tender I've had in Missouri. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We tried the smoked wings, pulled pork sandwich, those huge buttery baked potatoes, and the pork steaks... every single item was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because one of my items--a burger--was missing from my order. It was a small hiccup in what was otherwise an amazing experience. It is a cute little bbq joint! The service was quick. The lady at register was very helpful, and knowledgeable. The food... wow!! Coming from a bbq family.. this man knows how to do it. The taste is great. The flavor doesn't over power anything the meat is cooked to perfection. So juicy. The side I chose was delicious great pair. Not sure what happened, but the pork steak I bought today was not fork steak. It was dry, tough, and overcooked. I stopped at Mann Meats because I wanted a fork tender pork steak and did not want to make it myself. It was also less than an inch thick, not the 1.25 inches advertised like I had before. Always very impressed by the taste and freshness of the BBQ. I've tried a few things - burnt ends etc. They also try to support the Florissant community which I love. There isn't a place to sit and eat food that I can recall, and the wait was pretty extensive the last time I was there. They also run out of food so definitely come with an open mind because it's uncertain what will be available when you go. Probably the earlier the better & im sure weekends are busier. I was planning on eating at a place nearby, pulled into the parking lot to look up directions and was drawn in by the smell of this place! Very basic interior, decorated for Halloween right now, but you aren't coming here for the ambiance. You're coming for the food. And this place does it right. The young lady who took my order asked me some questions and helped steer me in the right direction. I got the loaded baked potato with pulled chicken. HUGE potato with a good amount of meat. Came with a side of bbq sauce and a tube of sour cream. Everyone was very friendly and clearly all get along. I ate inside and got to hear their conversations, which were all friendly and fun. I stopped in after a family member recommended this place. The restaurant was empty, so I was the only one ordering. I originally wanted the baked potato with shredded chicken, but I was told it wasn't available because they didn't want to make more so close to closing time at 7 PM. I walked in well before closing, and I could clearly see a full tray of potatoes in the back, which was frustrating. The worker had not so friendly customer service skills and appeared flustered. Should probably choose a different role. A couple of things to note: there's no restroom and no place to wash your hands, though they do provide hand sanitizer on the three tables inside. All food is served in to-go containers. I ended up ordering the Double Mann Burger and the sweet corn. The food itself was okay and to be honest not worth the price. Came in a few weeks ago when I was in the area because I remember Mann Meats when they were solely out of the bus. Everything was great service was good, food was even better. Big portions, and my wife said it was the best pork steak she ever had (other than mine, but I think she was just being nice to me). Ordered a double cheeseburger, asked them to add pickle slices. Could not determine if they offered lettuce and tomato. They didn't add cheese to the cheeseburger!!! Pretty good BBQ! I've always noticed Mann Meats (especially the BBQ bus), but never stopped by until today. I ordered the rib tips, potato salad, Mac n cheese, and beans to try. I like their sauce - it's thicker and has a smoky taste to it. The beans were very good and flavorful ! All of the sides were pretty good in fact. Service was prompt and easy. Turkey Ribs! Who knew they were a thing? I sure didn't, but I am glad I do now because they are glorious! I've been to the brick and mortar of Mann Meats twice, and both times one of the things I got was fantastic and the other was just OK. Fortunately, the good item was so exceptional that it didn't matter that the other item wasn't. Do you yourself a favor and get those Turkey Ribs! They were so tender and juicy, you would never know you were eating white meat turkey, which normally is pretty gross, in my opinion. This was the best turkey I've ever eaten - sorry Dad! Today I also got a half-rack of ribs. They looked good, they smelled good, they fell off the bone, they felt good in my mouth, but I did not think they were as tasty as they could have been. Dipped in the barbecue sauce, they were great, so not really complaining, just commenting. The other thing that I've had that was really exceptional, and really surprised me, was the smoked corn on the cob. I've never had smoked corn on the cob (and don't normally get corn when I go out to eat because I'm sooo picky about it) and theirs blew me away with the smoky flavor - and it was perfectly cooked. This is just a takeout place - today I did online ordering, which was easy, and my order was ready for pick-up in less than 15 minutes. So we haven't been to the restaurant, we ate from their food truck at an event in St. Charles recently. I had the brat and HOLY COW, if this wasn't the BEST brat I've ever eaten, I don't remember a better one! They make their own brats, with cheese in the meat and their special blend of spices, it is amazing!! I asked for a little mustard, the guy says try it before you smother it in anything, and it was fantastic, I still put a little mustard on it, but you could eat it without anything if you wanted too, I prefer a little mustard. I have had my fair share of brisket from all over the place, but nothing had me licking my chops like the brisket from Mann Meats. HIGHLIGHTS: - They trim off all that fat. Yes, fat is an integral part of slow cooking brisket but I don't enjoy chewing through ribbons of it. Some prefer the fat on, it's just not my cup of tea. - The brisket has a beautiful smoky pink ring around the edges and under the bark. Missing the pink ring? Your brisket probably wasn't smoked right or it was refrigerated and reheated. These guys clearly know their BBQ and they serve it fresh out of the smoker. 5 thumbs up! :D - While their house BBQ sauce is tangy with a nice kick, it's really not necessary. The meat is seasoned well with a nice balance of salt and pepper. Pairs beautifully with their smoked sweet corn and creamy potato salad. - Although the brisket is sliced thin, it retains its moisture while being super tender. Every bite literally melts in your mouth like butter... I don't know whose idea it was to open up shop near my employer, but they deserve a medal of some sort because this was seriously some of the best BBQ I've had in a while. Finally decided to check this place out, and now I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Ended up getting the Mann Candy(Burnt Ends) sandwich, and it was so tender that it just melted in your mouth. The corn coblets were by far the best corn cobs I have ever had. Rounded it all out was a cup of chili with cheese and onions. It had a nice kick that made my nose run. Service was top tier from the ordering to getting our food. Ambiance wise I could stay in there all day just for the amazing smells. read more

These people are super friendly and let me have a tiny sample of multiple meats. I had hoped it would make it clear what I should order; however, it did not. It was all fantastic tasting! The smoke ring on the brisket isn't super deep, but from my experience that can be very misleading. The smoke flavor on their meat was very strong and complex (I ended up getting the pulled pork and some brisket). The potato salad was excellent too. The cole slaw is sweeter than I prefer but it was still very tasty and you may love it depending on your tastebuds. read more

Mann Meats' reputation precedes them. I noticed a school bus sitting in the lot of a small building that once housed Sho Me BBQ, with the Mann Meat logo branded on the side. A quick Google search discovered this was no ordinary bus, but in fact one of the more popular food trucks in STL. Furthermore, the building was being converted into the permanent storefront for the operation. The titular star of the show here can best be described by the tag line of a nefarious roast beef chain that shall not be named: Man really does "have the meats". Chief among them is the boss brat, a delicious cheese infused sausage of their own creation made on site. The burger too is a standout. The first bite gave me that unmistakable summer feeling of going to a family get-together, walking into the backyard and seeing your uncle that's the undisputed top grillmaster at work. You JUST KNOW the burgers are gonna be bomb. I plan on probably having every single item on the menu by July 4th. read more

Disappointed on this last visit. The pork steaks were tender enough, and a knife wasn't needed for cutting, but one half of each pork steak was fairly dry on the inside. The baked beans were not actually baked beans, but more like pork and beans from a can, which I could have prepared myself. The coleslaw wasn't very good. The mac and cheese was pretty good. The peach cobbler was terrible. I'm a firm believer that if you do something, you should do it well. Peach cobbler definitely falls into that category, and if you can't do it well, then you shouldn't do it at all - and it was bad. It seems like the food was better on my previous visits, especially the barbecue. I won't give up on their meat, but I'll stay away from the side dishes and desserts going forward. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Mann Meats. I first saw them at the Forest Park Balloon Glow and was drawn to the aroma. I looked them up when I got home only to find they are from my neighborhood in Old Town Florissant!! Since then, they have opened a storefront and we get carry out from them often. I have never had a better burger and their brisket and burnt ends are to die for! No sauce needed in anything, the flavor is amazing!!!
