Checked this place out for dinner. My partner and I shared the lintel soup which was very smooth and full of different flavors. Very tasty. For our entree, we shared the Kifta Platter with baba ghanouj and tabbouleh as our sides, and it came with rice and pita bread. The meat was surprisingly so soft and tender and was very good. For dessert, we ordered the katayef. One was cheese filled and the other was full of nuts and both were covered with a light honey glaze. Such a great way to end the meal. Service was super friendly and checked on us regularly. They also have free black tea that's lightly sweetened and very warm and cozy. Would definitely come back to try other dishes!

This Syrian restaurant is my favorite spot in the Jacksonville area. Their shawarma and hummus would hold up in any major city. The hummus is smooth and creamy - truly amazing. Shawarma is excellent as both a platter or wrap. The kabob is amazing too. While the place is pretty divey - a former seafood restaurant that was never renovated - the service is friendly and excellent. A must visit.

We came at like 8:30pm on a Monday and I was very surprised that the restaurant was empty!! But the workers were super friendly, and maybe because it was later in the night, we were immediately served some lentil soup on the house. It was super creamy and hearty, and just really good! I got the chicken shawarma platter and I was decently surprised with just how big the servings are. I basically got two times more shawarma than I expected. The fries were so good and crispy. And I love the fresh and pickled veggies for some lightness. The chicken shawarma itself was on the drier side. We did get white sauce, but it's so thick that it doesn't really help. I saw that the chicken shawarma as an individual item on the menu came with pomegranate sauce, so kinda wishing it came with the platter too. A friend ordered the muhammara and that might have been my favorite of the night. It was a lot sweeter than I expected, which I loved.

4 stars to the food and service. Friendly, simple, and authentic. Made fresh garlic sauce for me and had complimentary black tea to finish on the way out. True hole in the wall, place could use some renovating. Once that's done place would be popping. Location slightly in ghetto area, sorry to be blunt.

Keep coming back at least once a week for the best shawarmas and dips in town, I just wish they would open a closer location to where I live. The quality of the food is the same every single time I come. The place is unpretentious, and it feels more li a whole in the wall. As for the service, they can be slow at times but for the quality of the food I really don't care lol

I've been looking for a Mediterranean restaurant for a while, and I noticed this one had a lot of positive reviews. To take our minds off work, my friend and I got together for lunch. Although the façade and interior don't seem very up-kept, don't let it fool you. The meal, family, and service were excellent. The lentil soup that was served to us was complimentary and was warm and flavorful. I chose the Kifta Platter as my entrée, which included two skewers with rice and two options for side appetizers. I ordered the grape leaves and hummus as sides. Amazing and tasty Kifta that had been cooked to perfection. The spice on the rice was fantastic, and it was extremely good. The grape leaves were tangy and delicious. We both enjoyed the food and service and looking forward to visit again!

Fantastic food tucked into a location I'm not sure I'd stop at if I wasn't comfortable just about anywhere. Don't let the restaurant give you the wrong impression, you'll enjoy superb flavor served by a welcoming and informative staff that aims to please. I will be back again and again.

The goal is to try every item on their menu. It's Mediterranean (Turkish) cuisine folks, which I call "guilt free, healthy eats". What to try you may ask. If you are striving for that "Olive Garden Salad + Bread combo"... let me suggest Kofta's version which is the Coban Salad and Puffy Bread. They're not offered as an all you can eat combo, but it should keep you filled between the two. - Coban Salad (5/5): A must try, soooo delicious. Fresh ingredients. The dressing, I could drink them in shot glasses. - Puffy Bread (5/5): It's made to order. Comes out nice and hot and puffy. Plenty to share with others. - From the Grill menu. Kofta Plate, Chicken Shish, Adana Plate are all good choices (5/5) - Sandwiches/Wraps: Their Doner Wrap was just okay to me (4/5) Service (5/5): no complaints here Pricing (5/5): Best value when you eat during Lunch. But Dinner items are not too pricey. Lastly, Buffets are also offered...on Sundays I believe. I haven't tried it yet but it definitely gives me a great reason to come back to Kofta.

It was way too much food for two of us, but it was all delicious. The meat was a little bit salty, but it was balanced out by the rice and other vegetables on the plate. The mixed appetizers were delicious. I don't think I would order the calamari again. Overall, great Turkish cuisine, owned by Turkish couple who moved to the United States a few years ago.

We got Bread - the inside was super soft and warm, and it had a decent crust so it was really good dipped in the oil and balsamic. But idk if I would necessarily get it again. They kind of made it seem like it would be complimentary and it wasn't. And you can get plenty full without it, so while it was pretty cheap, it wasn't necessarily worth it for us Tuna tartare - really good! The tuna tasted really fresh, and the chips were so light and crispy without feeling too oily. And I was a big fan of the mango coulis. Grilled Mediterranean octopus - I've never had such soft and tender octopus before! So so flavorful too. However because it was so soft, I thought it was kind of weird that everything that came with it was also like sauces and foams. I wish there was some kind of texture within the dish. Pan seared snapper - This one kind of confused us because the menu said it came with orzo but they brought it out with like pasta noodles. And we were kind of :// because we ended up with two similar creamy pasta dishes. But we just ate it anyways and it was really good! Just would have been nice if they told us beforehand, we probably would have chosen something else instead. But ya super creamy and the artichoke and tomatoes gave it a nice brightness. The snapper was kind of tough but I also know snapper isn't the most tender fish. Black truffle bucatini - so good, the pasta was al dente and the truffle flavor was super strong Molten dulce de leche - the perfect amount of sweetness. It was so gooey and warm and paired so well with the vanilla ice cream.

Othello is a tapas-style restaurant, and we loved ordering a variety of dishes to share around the table. It was the perfect way to experience different flavors, and every dish we tried was beautifully prepared, fresh, and packed with flavor. Even the less adventurous eaters in our group left impressed. Some of our favorites included the whipped feta (don't skip the bread for dipping!), the roasted half chicken, and the butterflied branzino, which was perfectly cooked with a delicious char and bright, fresh flavors. Every plate that came to the table looked as incredible as it tasted. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions about the menu. One thing to know before you go: the chef has a very specific vision for each dish and generally does not allow substitutions or modifications. For example, one person in our group wanted the aioli removed from the tuna, but the dish was only served as designed. It's something to keep in mind if you have picky eaters or dietary preferences. We were so full after sharing so many plates that we had to pass on dessert, but that's just another reason to come back. I came in as a solo diner and was seated quickly, although my table was kind of nestled underneath the high outdoor bar. That meant hearing some of the bartender's phone conversations. I ordered a glass of Lebanese rose wine and liked it! But my meal wasn't impressive. The vegetarian grape leaves (one of my favorite dishes, generally) were OK, although several were split up on my plate (but hey, it happens). I thought the flavor was underwhelming; there was a lot of acidity but nothing else. I also ordered a side of "extra crispy seasoned potato fries" which just turned out to be generic crinkle fries with salt. Definitely wouldn't order those again. I thought maybe there would be some sort of twist on them? The big frustration was service. The restaurant was far from full when I went -- I counted maybe a dozen seated tables. After I finished eating, I spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my waiter's attention to get my check even as I sat with my plates pushed away, glasses empty, and credit card out. He walked by multiple times to wait on and check with other tables, and I saw at least five other employees working in the front of house and walking by me. Even when I got his attention for the check, it took quite a few minutes to get it, despite him walking out to other tables. (Although I will note he seemed busier than the other employees!) My check before tip came to $24, which felt on the pricey side for what I got. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the vibe that I wasn't exactly their favorite type of guest -- a solo diner who wasn't smoking hookah. (I noticed another solo non-smoker go similarly unnoticed by staff.) Maybe they heavily favor regulars, too. But they weren't at capacity, and I'd have gotten out quicker had I been able to pay. Maybe it was just an off night. But it's just not a great feeling to be ignored.
