I was disappointed that I ended up with a urine soaked gown & bedding. When the PTs came in, they had to change both my gown & bedding before we could do our PT session. In addition, I had to call a nurse, as the aid forgot to turn on my leg massager after putting it on. The staff may be busy but it is disappointing to have to wait for pain meds or someone to assist me with the restroom. The most frustrating thing was that I didn't get fed until late in the day after not eating since two days before. I was instructed not to eat the night before surgery. My surgery ended up being late in the evening, even after I was told to arrive by 11:00 pm. With a late surgery, I wasn't allowed to eat dinner. The staff told me I couldn't have breakfast or lunch as there were no orders for food. I wasn't anticipated to spend the night but the surgery was late. It is rough to have to wait two days to eat. Doctor orders should be checked for meals following any surgery or have a hospitalist that could make the decision. Another thing is that discharge took forever. The doctor said I was ready to go home. I got my PT done, finally got my walker, my ride home had arrived, but no one would discharge me. I was tired & wanted to rest. The person who pushed me out to the car, tried shoving my leg that had the brace into the car. It didn't fit through the car door, thus I had to lift my leg & put it on the dashboard which really wasn't safe. It would've been better to have a PT assist. The surgery went well & the doctor visited the next day. I was just disappointed in the aftercare & discharge. These are suggestions for future patients. read more

Keeps getting worse since the operations were outsourced. They essentially killed my father. He was in there for a procedure and when I visited him once I could tell that they were not taking proper care of his hygiene. When they checked him out and sent him home, a couple days later he was collapsing and couldn't speak. He was rushed back and the doctor determined that he was in septic shock due to improper hygiene and a UTI that traveled into his system during his visit a couple days prior. He succumbed to this. That was before the outsourced operations. As you can see by other reviews, it's not doing any better. Consumer Reports hospital ratings verifies this. So I came here for the first time on Monday after I got really sick. I seen their advertisements of a lot of people are in and out within 30mins. That's 100% not the case. Came in with a fever of 103, extreme dizziness and fatigue, had to force myself to not lose consciousness, breathing problems, high blood pressure, extreme nausea and a fast heart rate. Turns out I was exposed to covid. They did not even take down my medical history , which puts me at high risk. I sat in that chair for nearly six hours going thru hell while literally every other patient in there were laughing and talking amongst themselves like nothing was bothering them. I was the last one to be seen. No blood tests done no anything. Just discharged me and said , I had a covid. Extremely unprofessional and judgmental people that work here. Did not send prescriptions to pharmacy that patient requested.Hospital lost my sister's medical card and california I.D. most nurses act like they don't know what's going on .One day they tell me one thing and change it .My sister has water on the brain they told me they were going to send her to a facility that handles neurology because Dameron does not have a neurology department and now they want to send outpatient. Oh my gosh !!! So much better than St.Josephs!!! It was my second time there and there's just no comparison!!! Hardly any wait, plenty of seating and it's very clean... DO NOT COME HERE FOR MENTAL HEALTH Went on a Thursday at 11 pmasking for help with mental health, I fell asleep to be woken up at 3am to talk to a psychiatrist who did not pay attention at all to what I was saying misdiagnosed me put me on a 5150 at 4am which is a 72 hour hold I kept asking for a patients advocate which they denied me , emt came to take me at 10 am so I got sent all the way to San Francisco psych ward on Friday at 12 pm. They don't usually let u leave on weekends and the psychiatrist at the psych ward doesn't see you the first day you get there so I had to wait until Saturday to speak to a psychiatrist and explain my situation and he said that it was mandatory to keep me for at least 24 hours and let me leave after two days so I got to leave a day early. I blame this hospital for everything I went through the most horrible experience of my life. I kept begging for them not to put me on a 72 hour hold that I just needed space away from home for a bit to be OK I started crying saying that it was my daughter's first week of school and I needed to be there the last day of her first week because she's been having a hard time. I was crying and crying in the lady in the most condescending tone told me basically that I was acting crazy. I needed to calm down. I stopped crying. I looked at her and I just said I'm crying. An ER admission as recent as 9/12 left me with a lot of hope. The support staff made great effort to admit my wife considering how sick she was. Her stay was sadly a different story upon my discovery during a visit. It devastated me to witness the degree of quality care for her but I did see an effort by the nursing staff that appeared to be lacking in help. I applaud them and am grateful but I discovered from an acquaintance that upon their visit a staff member provided confidential and personal information about my wife's care. I came into the ER at Dameron Hospital by ambulance with chest pain, dizziness, a severe headache, and fever. Despite these serious symptoms, I was left waiting for over an hour before being seen. This is unacceptable treatment for someone in an emergency situation. I honestly felt like I could have died waiting to be helped. I will never come back to this hospital again. I called ahead to see if they would treat me for dehydration during 110° weather, and after a week of diarrhea. I asked what the cost would be for cash pay because I don't have insurance but was advised it was not possible to quote without a billing code. I was then referred to Urgent Care because of my situation, which was not an emergency. Fine, that's why I called ahead. Unfortunately, Urgent Care refused to treat me because they couldn't diagnose dehydration without a current CT scan & chest Xray. This isn't the first time Sutter has refused unrelated treatment because I won't get the tests quarterly. Instead of partnering with me on a reasonable (and effective) treatment plan, they dictate cookie-cutter testing that has drained my savings of tens of thousands of dollars. These tests and Sutter doctors have repeatedly failed to produce results for the digestive chaos that is now my life. I no longer seek guidance from Sutter regarding my cancer concerns. I thought I could trust them with a simple hydration treatment, but they failed me yet again. read more

I went to dameron on 3/05/2022 because the left side of my throat was sore and swollen. I also had pain in my jaw on the same side and earache also on the same side. I had a massive headache. They did a strep throat rapid test and that came back normal. Doctor didn't even check my ears. They then discharged me and said it was allergies or something viral. I go home and I'm in agony and my throat is even more swollen so I go back and the do blood work and they said it was normal. When the same doctor comes in and looked at my throat he said it looks fine. So they give me ibuprofen and a steroid for the swelling and say it'll go away on it's on because it's viral. He didn't want to do a CT scan because he said they cause thyroid cancer and they did do one and it come back normal it would have been for nothing. So I'm discharged with ibuprofen. The next morning I wake up and my throat is even more swollen and I could barely open my mouth so I decide to go to San Joaquin General Hospital where they put me on IV antibiotics and did blood work which showed I had an infection. My diagnosis was a Peritonsillar abscess and it had to be drained. They had me on IV antibiotics twice and pain meds. I got the best care and treatment there. Had I stayed home it could've ruptured and got into my lungs. read more

To whom it may concern, Wanted to give my complaint to this hospital. I had the worst experience I have ever had with any hospital. I was seen on January 3rd-4th as an outpatient blood transfusion. Not only was I poked 10 times to try and get an IV started but when I told my nurse that the pain was unbearable she was hesitant on starting a new IV. I am a stage 5 kidney failure patient and I should be respected when I say the pain is unbearable. They should have listened and removed the IV. After the transfusion they sent me home with my arm swollen and bruised. The pain was still unbearable that I had to go to another hospital and turns out that the IV that was placed in Dameron hospital infiltrated and all the fluids went into my tissue. I am so angry not only because this happened but I am already going to the worst pain in my life because of kidney health. I am highly considering filing a malpractice lawsuit so this won't happen to another patient again. read more

They keep people in the waiting room for hours with zero regard for their condition. I went to this hospital because I had a procedure done here and felt like if they needed to go back in to check that everything was ok this would be the place to go, also I worked here at one point so I felt more comfortable going here. At first it was fine they got me in right away ran the tests that should have been run, but instead of contacting my cardiologist and making sure they should run more tests and to see if anything else should be done the dr on staff decided to run tests that I am unsure that needed to be run, without having someone on staff that could read said reports, so a 3 hr er visit now turns into a 12 hr visit in which time I get to listen to the Dr cussing in the hallway about patients and his life, which is highly highly inappropriate. The nurses laughing and giggling about it. Then I get to witness an older patient leaving upset and the nurses just giggling and thing it's the funniest thing in the world. Again where is the professionalism, when I asked to speak to the nursing supervisor I was denied, when I threatened to call my cardiologist suddenly the results that we waited 9 hrs for arrive and within 5 minutes we are discharged. I would highly recommend going to another hospital this one is not what it used to be. read more

While renovating they have everyone in a tiny room. You can hear someone's stomach growl. The nurse is asking out loud my personal information. I said can I type it in? She goes no why? I said in a LOUD VOICE, BECAUSE I HAVE NO PRIVACY!! She just sighed and went behind the reception wall and then I got called in to get my info. A trip to visit a family member and I walk into the area where his room is and I see a nurse wiping a mans behind. She looks up and continues her task. Doesn't even bother to close the door after making eye contact with me. Gave that man no dignity. I heard a nurse tell a wife that she had to leave because visiting time is over. The lady explained the man is dying, she wanted to stay. The nurse coldly said It's Policy. Then the wife said no other nurses had issues. She goes I go by the book. I went in at 11:40 am and was discharged at 7pm I was having a bad migraine with arm pain. please note I never saw a doctor nor was I put in a room and nor a hallway. They left me suffer with migraines pain in the loud and bright waiting area. After the change of shift a male nurse came out and yelled my name to give me discharge paperwork I never once saw a doctor nor did I go to the back. To make matters worse the on call physician wrote a prescription that would aggravate my asthma they never once looked at my chart and or medical history. They requested her do a urine test, a CT scan of her neck. However, after waiting 4 hours, they told that they couldn't help her & will find another hospital to transfer her. She asked them how long she had to wait. The doctor's attitude is very rude. He told that he didn't know. May be few hours or until tomorrow. And the important is Before starting the CT scan, my friend asked the two nurses that she need to remove the necklace or no. And they answered her that she didn't need to take off her necklace. When doctor finally came inside he asked me "Why am I crying?" I proceed to tell him why I'm there an he's just looking at me. Its a great hospital to be born in...I should know. Other than that I really dont know...its ok I guess. There are two main hospitals in Stockton....Dameron and St. Joes... Dameron is located in a nice neighborhood setting...about a mile in from Victory Park. Its a somewhat small hospital...not nearly as big as some of the other medical places in the area. The main problem I have always had with Dameron is the same as most hospitals...the long waits in the ER. I think its completely stupid that you go to the ER for something like asthma issues and it takes at least a few hours to be seen. And that's on a good day! I know of people who have had to wait 5 or 6 hours for a small problem. And these are people with insurance and medical coverage. And the parking is always an issue around the hospital. A few years ago they added a new parking lot next door but its somewhat small for what they need. Maybe the problems are attributable to the medical system as a whole but I usually end up going somewhere else. But they did a great job on my being born there...I turned out great! :0) read more

Don't bother going to the ER if you have pain in your stomach, they'll just write you a prescription of Norcos and send you home rather then do an ultra sound or x-rays, which is their job. ER sucks here big time, they will also leave you in a room and forget about you, they did 2 times with my wife. They sent my wife home without doing an ultra sound and said just go see your doctor. My wife seen her dr. at Kaiser and they did an ultra sound and found kidney stones and 2 cysts on her kidneys. F**K YOU Dameron. I'm freshly out of surgery and out of the hospital I was held in being that I left AMA, which was a poor decision of mine but I felt like I needed to get out of there so after experiencing pain being that when you leave AMA they don't give you any medicine or any kind of help I was starting to feel the effects of surgery after almost dying in a really really bad car crash and waking up in the hospital with tubes in my chest going into surgery for my leg with a broken hip fractured ribs in split chin. I explain to the doctor with my situation worse and that I had use some street drugs try to numb the pain so after he gets my ear and says back, he said through he comes inside of my dwelling while I was sitting straight up with a heavy dose of morphine shot in my ass clearly in pain still he yanks the curtain open pissed off at me saying that I had did drugs, therefore, he could not give me anything but the drugs he were accusing me of doing what upper not any kind of opiate downer nevertheless, embarrassing the fuck out of me and sending me on my way with a walker going I happy inch step literally staying not too far away from the hospital on in your street only problem was I did not know where to go because I've never been on the streets before I'm from the bay.
